Good luck Ann xxx
Welcome Anne and pitch your tent, there’s plenty of room.
Mind the empty bottles, cake tins, fag packets.
Check out the tents you might want to visit.
Collect your flamethrower - we use them to keep the Gremlins at bay.
- And know you are amongst fellow woodlanders who are fab at pulling you out of swamps and quicksand, and great at sending happy fairies when in need.
Actually, you may not have too much trouble with the quicksand as i spent yesterday pouring cement into them as they keep trying to catch me out.

Morning campers
Haven’t popped in for a while but I’m back, just been and had my hair cut to get rid of the grey pube look that had been developing as part of my new look! Have now neat and tidy no 2, feels so much better!
Finding it hard to keep up, now that I seem to feel better and FECcing chemo doesn’t seem to bringing too many bad se’s - except now the eyebrows are exiting fast, although eyelashes still fairly intact!
Mary Grace, has BCN recommended seeing physio for deep tissue massage to help with drainage and to get rid of lumpiness? It’s taking time but the difference for me is fantastic and the scar is so much better, both looks and comfort!
I will get DS to take pic of my hair because I have never had either DM’s or tattoos and I feel at 47 perhaps it’s time to embrace a new me, particularly as the tattoos will be on left boob for rads - perhaps they could do a nice butterfly while they are at it!
For those not feeling to great - mega hugs and sorry that I have not been wielding the flamethrowers on your behalf recently, but good to see we are still having to watch where we put our feet regarding fag packets and booze bottles - some things just never change
Love to all
SJ xx
Hey, I’ve never pitched a tent before - this’ll be fun!
Thanks for the welcome. It’s good to have people to share the journey with and cheer each other up when we need it.
SCACO,
My daughter (15) suggested I get my head tattooed, for a laugh (her or me??) My other daughter, 6 yr old got out the (now famous, afore mentioned) craft box, and decorated my whole head with self-adhesive jewels.
Teenage son’s already threatened to hide any wigs for fun/spray them in novel colours/nick them to wear for rugby for a laugh. I can see many hours of ‘hunt the wig’ ahead of me!
Sophie, can I join your gang? It sounds too scary not to! You forgot ‘hormonal, menopausal, sweating and generally ****ed-off…!’
More importantly, Cheryll, it sounds like you need to take it a bit more slowly. Well, you and me both actually, have ended up in bed again today, v faint. But FEC2, I really overdid it, and ended up fainting when we were out- as I was sitting upright, had a small fit too. Was very unpleasant, scared the kids - not to mention expensive, as because of the snow, the air ambulance was called! I have been a lot more cautious since! So, REST UP! Hope you feel back on form soon,
Tracey x
Hi Sophie, Tracey,
Am up for that gang too, sounds fun.
Hi Sj & SCACO,
Hope you are both well ?
Hi Everyone else.
Love Sarah.xxx
Amber, I’m just starting too! Will find out tomorrow which chemo regime I’ll be on.It’s great to have company isn’t it
Margaret
Excellent news about the gang. I’ll need to make sure I get the right coloured braces in case I’m taken for a member of some other gang!
Funny thing is I work in a Uni and my students probably wouldnt bat an eyelid if I came in like that. Always said that there is nothing that i could do or nothing I could wear that would be more extreme than some colleagues are already. Now’s my chance to try it out. Middle-aged hormonal skinhead turns up to lecture on big rusty motorbike.
Mind you I am quite fancying the jewels stuck on head look and imagining wigs died bright orange or green or something by my boys too.
Welcome Ann, good to see you over here. We’re pretty crazy but hopefully everyone can help you through.
SJ thanks for the advice. I think I was probably imagining my underarm scars were worse than they are. In the cold light of day it just looks like scar tissue round the cut but its easier to see that now all the tape is off. I will bear in mind the massage though if it doesnt clear soon xx
Just been reading through the posts and you are all a real tonic!!! I can’t believe some of the ones I have read lol hilarious. Really lifts my day xxx
Yup, great to find a set of people with sense of humour
Thanks, Tracey, I thought I was taking things gently, staying in except for a short drive on Sunday, and only working on things for short periods before resting. I think the dizzy/fainting spell might be partly because I got up quickly, needing the loo. But I probably spent more time than I should sitting up at the computer rather than resting with my feet up. I do think I should tell the onc that it might be better for me to have the lower, more spread out dose of anti-emetics because I can cope with the mild queasiness I had that way, since nibbling fruit and the like seems to keep it at bay.
I’m off to put my feet up again.
Cheryl
Mary Grace, if you’re looking for the authentic biker gear, I’m sure I can find some leathers in my cupboard for you, together with the biker boots, gloves and of course crash helmet. I would even lend you the bike but it’s currently just a garden ornament as I can’t afford to tax and MOT it, but I might see if I can get it back on the road for the summer. Trip has already offered to demonstrate the tatts, so I’m sure between us we’d be able to run a pretty decent biker rally. Now THEY know how to party!
Hair dos…If looking like bill the burglar…when hair starts to grow but is looking daft go and get shaved designs all over head…tram lines, flowers etc. If growing back grey henna first to give colour…beware of using red henna on grey or you will be pink…
If bald and shiny…how about henna tattoos, they are very pretty!
We need a hairdressing tent!
Some great ideas here! With my luck I would be more likely to get the ZZ Top beard like a biker look even if the rest falls out!
Results first thing on Friday, beginning to get that stomach churning sensation when I look at my nicely healing scars and nice new SNB and WLE which could well be back for another remodel.
I know I would cope whatever so I don’t know why it worries me so much.
So I think I either need to knit merkins, burn pizzas or lie in the spa tent for a while!!
Choccie, did Ellie get her haircut yet and how are you liking yours? xx
MG, Ellie’s haircut is 23rd Feb, and I love my new hair, just a shame I won’t get to keep it but I still don’t know when it’ll be going as I’m waiting for the results from re-excision.
If you’re looking for something to keep you occupied while being driven up the worry wall in the waiting room, breeze on over to my tent, there’s tons of housework to be done (can’t be bothered and spend far too long on BCC forums to actually get round to it!) and I’m sure I could make you a cup of tea while you scrub the floors…
Oh dear, the psychedelic drugs are showing their presence, aren’t they!
Hi Choccie, currently enjoying my ability to bath to full. Have realisedthat underarm always sore at this time of day particularly as dressing off and it’s rubbing a little. Any suggestions welcomed for underarm padding which will not add more sticky marks (spent ages getting them all off) maybe Lif’s wool!
Forgot you were back waiting for results, was thinking you were about to start chemo but forgetting that like me you need the “clear margin” fairy to turn up.
I’m afraid we’ll have to rely on the cleaningfairies too as I am banjaxed and fit for nothing tonight. Couldnt understand why I get so tired but BCN says it’d because body is putting it’s efforts into healing itself.
To add insult to injury whilst getting various forms from post office some silly man ran into me. Not in car, in person while I was standing at pedestrian crossing. Apparently he saw a traffic warden about to ticket his illegally parked car but just made a sudden run for it totally overlooking little moi and giving a good jolt to my bad arm. Quick sorry and off he shot (looking faintly surprised that a respectable woman knew so many swear words!)
Anyone know a good Rock like man who would make my tea while I whimper in a corner of my tent. Of course in a good novel “said” distracted, apologetic, ticketed man would turn out to be “said” rock but he was more likely of the other variety! xx
By the sounds of it I need to drag my leathers out the garage to remain on this post? I’d put them away as wasn’t going to be biking/ gigging due to demise of relationship at same time as DX! The boots I’m still wearing 'cos if I see ex I’m likely to kick him at the gremlins and warlocks!
Mary Grace - I’ve also realised my arm always sore/ stiffer about now, tried putting 2+2 together and tried stroking it using exfoliating mitt then moisturising. This does seem to help so maybe worth giving a go?!
If anyone has a spare “Tidy-up” fairy, whose looking bored, please would you be kind enough to send her over? My teenagers and I have slightly(?)different levels of tidy!
Hope we all have a visit from the “sleepwell” fairy and the gremlins stay behind the barricades tonight.
Lots of Love
Helen xx
Evening Ladies, I am back from the briar patch that is Chemo Pre Assessment. Nuetri-what-nots are ok, so it’s Fec2 tomorrow.
OH has been Narky for a good 48hrs, must be something in the water! I know they feel the strain too, but I want to shout ‘wake up and smell the coffee’!! … and the housework fairies must be all on a course or something, mine’s b*gg*red off too.
Scaco, Loving the idea of a BCC Chapter, but I’ll need an L plate! Are we going for Henna tattoos on heads and a picture of a bejewelled knitted Merkin for the back of our leather jackets? I was thinking that once I have a recon scar, a barbed wire tat along it could be tempting! (Maybe I’ve always been a closet biker chick)?
Btw we’ll be needing a sidecar or two for anyone feeling faint or otherwise cream crackered …
Hello Amber, welcome, good luck to you and anyone else waiting for results this week ((((hugs)))) over in the calm tent Enya is playing and there’re lovely big mugs of creamy hot chocolate - or something stronger if you should need it…
Hi to everyone else
