Mary Grace, I tried all sorts of things. A clean hanky, folded in a triangle and tucked into bra, just to reduce rubbing. One of those blue & silver freezer packs that are sometimes part of first aid and sometimes come with lunch boxes–the flexible ones, not the blocks–wrapped in a towel and held under my arm to numb the area. A wet flannel wrapped in a sandwich bag and chilled in the fridge or the freezer, also held under my arm. If you’re wearing a heavy jumper, you can probably skip wrapping a freezer pack in a towel, but you don’t want it directly next to your skin. Some people use frozen peas. Reducing irritation and then numbing the area seemed to work best.
Hi campers!
The Bringiton fairy arrived in chemo suite again today, and it all went swimmingly. Have visited the spa tent, and am now chilled. 3 down, 15 to go. Feel SO much better now I have begun this. The Clearmargin faury has yet to visit me also, I do hope she appears at one point or another. meanwhile, the Letsdosomethingfun sprite appeared and I booked a short break for next week. I go on day after chemo and magically reappear for bloods pre chemo. Nifty huh?!
Hope evryone is feeling lovely as they can, I have a permanent date with the colouringin elf, by which means she makes my eyebrows reappear.

Peachez, we still on for our date tomorrow? I was thinking I should hunt out my leathers so you can recognise me but I don’t fancy sitting around in winter biking gear in a warm room, my armpits wouldn’t just be humming they’d be singing all the words too! I am LOVING the idea of a henna tattoo on a bald head. It’d certainly be a talking point! But what would it be, or what would it say?
I think the housework fairies have just disappeared round the back of the beer tent for a crafty fag, they’re certainly nowhere near my tent. Similarly “Da Transport CrU” - a mean and threatening bunch of hoodie-wearing trolls - have turned up to collect their extorsion money. Just had the chariot serviced and MOTed and it’s completely cleaned me out. We’re on baked beans for the next month at Chateau Muffin unless those lottery tickets turn up trumps.
Well done Crabbie for keeping BringItOn chained to your wrist today. Impressive technique that, unpicking one of the more gaudy knitted merkins from the Craft tent and crocheting yourself a pair of handcuffs out of it!
I know I have ages to wait (oh god, waiting - aarrgghh!!!) before I need to make my mind up, but the decision twins - Shall-I and Shan’t-I are stood in the clearing playing catch with a cold cap. For the moment Shan’t-I is winning, but my mind is anything but made up and I’ll probably want to give it a go when I think about it tomorrow.
Hi Choccie, hope to see you later this Morning, I’ll pm you.
I’d be tempted to have a “stop looking at my head” tatooed on the back!
Morning to all campers, fingers crossed you all had a Gremlin free night.
MaryGrace; I used folded hankies, mens ones. Otherwise I just took bra off if it was getting uncomfortable!

SCACO’s Woodland Log (FEC 2 Day 3)
All’s well in the woods. The birds are starting to chirp, the daffodils are beginning to poke thru’ and the beer tent is fully stocked.
Have decide to build a treehouse today, thought being as we are now the ‘Breast Angels’ we’d need a ‘Lodge’. It will also act as lookout to see which Gremlins are lurking as well as let us see how far we all need to travel.
Love the idea of sequined merkins on our leathers, much more empowering than pink ribbons!!
I love the idea of a treehouse. Let’s make sure it’s finished for spring! A purple and red banner, please.
Cheryl
Afternoon campers! Results DDay-2 and counting.
Breast Angels, I like it lol. Can just imagine the jacket with the merkin logo on the back. Purple leather with a red logo on clearly.
Treehouse sounds an excellent idea. Put me down for sawing or hammering in nails. In these days of girlpower / necessity I have become quite the DIY buff. I can even carry logs around, just so long as I don’t have to stand holding stuff above my head. Underarm feels better this morning and I’m trying to be less vigorous with it. Come to think about it we may need the DIY fairies to help with the treehouse construction or maybe a bit of Harry Potter “wingardium leviosa!” (you can tell my kids had a Harry Potter computer game, that used to make you able to pick stuff up and float it around using a wand). Could do with a bit of Wingardium Leviosa on the sports kit and discarded plates which the kids left lying all over their bedroom floor! xx
CM’s back on the edge of the Limbo swamp again, but darling daughter’s fundraising efforts are keeping me suitably distracted.
I called my BCN today to ask if she’d just happened to have the results of last week’s re-excision in, but no they’re not there. Bum. I did tell her how I feel like I’ve been left behind a bit. People I know (you lot!) who had their diagnoses in Jan are already well on the way to completing their treatments and I feel as if I haven’t even started even though I had my diagnosis at the beginning of December, so she says she’ll try to get the Path blokey to extract his digit and get moving with my results. The longer it goes on the more noisy ImGoingToDieNextWeek gets - he’s a right pain in the rear end that one and keeps sneaking up on me when I’m not paying attention. I smack him round the ear with my bucket and tell him to gubber off but he’s very persistent and a bloody great big liar, and also a bit thick because he doesn’t know when to take a hint!
Definitely enjoying the “sod the pink!” attitude in the woods. Purple and red are definitely the team colours for this particular forest!
Managed to have a nap after FEC2 this morning. They’ve upped my steriods and some of the anti sickness too, but they held back on the Emend even though I pleaded yesterday. What do you have to do? vomit in front of them???
Hi Choccie, c’mon hun, keep going! I had delayed results and treatment plan changed twice, but you WILL get there. It is SO frustrating having to wait!! AND your coping with your OH too - Can you go punch a pillow or something?? It was great to see you today, just sorry we didn’t have longer to chat.
Looks like scaco will be up a tree with a flamethrower to get that monster of yours too.
MaryGrace, those of us old enough to remember Mary Poppins know that clicking your fingers works as well as magic spells!! Good luck for Friday.
If anyone’s watching the Human Planet programme, I think it’s about tree dwellers this week, maybe we could pick up some tips??
It’s spoonful of sugar time, right?
I can saw a bit and hammer nails, but I’ve never really used power tools. Count on me for some soft furnishings, though, and embroidery for the banner.
Cheryl
Love the idea of a treehouse!
Sentinel Node Biopsy tomorrow. Hmm. Think that calls for a cuppa.
And what will be in your cup, Amber? I hope it’s something really delicious.
Choccie, chins up, positive vibes sent from up here in leeds, should be heading your way very soon, unless zapped by scaco in the tree. Day 6 post ec 2 and really wobbly again but NO nausea this time and I only had half dose steroids…2 down four to go…I love treehouses, would love some camoflage growing up in in really sweet smelling flowers, sun shining through the trees, birds chirping. Count me in x Alison x
Well…have to admit to being a chainsaw user and have oh who is a qualified tree surgeon…so treehousesRus I think…who has the paint, rope ladder, hammer etc?
Have paint, hammer, nails, but really really hate ladders, so can we make sure it’s a damn good one that doesn’t wobble? Otherwise I’ll be waving at you all from the ground… or dragging stray electricians into the woods to build me an elevator…
Hi All,
Can use saw, hammer, drill, rivet gun etc., but like others none too keen on wobbly ladders! Might even be able to wire in elevator for those that need it!
Love the red & purple theme planned, love merkin ideas as an emblem on the banner & jackets!?
What about some crimson red drapes and purple silk cushions & velvet/fake fur throws?
CM - We’ll all be blasting the ImGoingToDieNextWeek gremlin if he comes anywhere near you and tell him to b**ger back off to his swamp.
SCACO - I hope you are all feeling OK - I was amazed at the noise my local bird population was making this morning too, whereabouts are you?
lots of love
Helen xxxx
oooOOOooo, I’m LIKING this treehouse!
Can we also have a zip wire please? They’re such fun! Trip, you can be the Chief Catcher at the bottom of the zip wire so you have a perfectly valid reason to be on the ground and will be a most valued member of the crew.
I would like to make an official complaint.
I cannot now escape building work, either online or off. The woods are starting to resemble my house. Get one of those fairies out to wave their magic wands please! I know the magic might not reach my house…but I live in hope! Love the treehouse though, specially the interior decor…
Tracey xx
Hey the building work is coming along. Strange though it seems I have been out singing (I sing in a choir sometimes) and dragged myself along tonight. I have to recommend it as an excellent way of scaring off any gremlins. Choccie that particular gremlin IGD has been after me too. Results due on Friday and the tension is mounting again. I am fine about treatment it is the unknown and what they might say that gnaws at me during the night.
Of course, I forgot Mary Poppins. Clicking fingers works and so does singing a “spoon full of sugar.” So next time there are any gremlins around I want a rousing chorus from the Breast Angels and someone to chuck logs at them from the tree house (at the gremlins, not the fellow campers)xx
