Been walking the woodland path to the chapel this last few days, lots of niggly worries, the main one being an impending Colonoscopy, every time had an appointment it always fell nr chemo day,ONC insisted it had to be during week 3,last chemo next Wed,The niggle in my head told me it was bound to sinister and diarhoea was not due to Letrozole, these niggles just grow and grow in ones mind.Today I had Colonoscopy and all was clear except for Diverticulitis:0):0)an old lady disease!!!
Cackles,so glad you can at last leave the yew tree, and hope st.eroid doesnt keep you awake, have released many many sleep fairies.
Jean I have been using Mindfulness cds by Kabatt Zinn they are very good for insomnia, especially the breathing space one,are they the ones you use?
I hope there will be some great crested neuts left for next wed TAX,then Rads Rushes for me:Now that I have a shiny new colon I should only consume healthy stuff, pity my mind has other ideas!!
A good night to all xxMavis
Good news Mavis! What a relief that it’s nothing more sinister.
Annie - make mine a large one! Now we’ve had a frost I’ll be making sloe gin and vodka.
I’ve got an alter-ego called Whatthehell!
Re no salads, etc. I wasn’t given any dietry dos and don’ts before starting chemo. By the time I found this site and saw that maybe I shouldn’t be eating shellfish, soft brie, runny eggs, rare meat, etc, etc, I was half way through chemo and had no ill-effects, so Whatthehell took over and I carried on!
Dx
Hi Mavis yes they are the kind of mindfulness I follow just wish I could find the dvds they would be great now, haven’t a clue what i did with them. Never mind they will come to light eventually. So pleased your news was good.
Cackles really glad to hear your last one over and done with not long now them twinkling lights will get closer and closer.
I hope you all have a goodnight I am off back to bed to try again.
Goodnight Jean xxx
Herbi, try cold compresses to ease the discomfort a bit, and if the swelling doesn’t go down in a few days, ask your BCN about having it drained. Those little gel freezer packs often used for first aid are good (not directly against bare skin), or wrap a damp flannel in a sandwich bag and chill it in the fridge or freezer.
Hope it goes down soon.
Cheryl
Herbi get that football drained into the swamp at least twice a week. Perhaps I should set up camp armed with my wonder sucker and tend to these things, before the glow in the dark rad rashes lure me away.
Thanks for the greetings as I slowly leave the security of my Yew tree nest. Clippings being donated to produce more wonder drug for those that follow. Who wants to come and hold me down on the Nineth of December when she rips out my dear Hickman??? I have ipamawimpsndneedtorun and donotletthesidedown fighting at present. I am flinging comfort fron headinthesand and itcanstayinaslongasitlikesnow.
So it is all hands to baking today . Good idea as kitchen only place with heat until boiler man comes…more expensive repairs no doubt., still I can’ take both piggy bags with mre may as wll enjoy them…somehow a good Hotel in Scotland would better than a boiler

Hi ladies
Cackles, many congrats on your last tax, hope any se’s are minimal, be careful coming down from that yew tree, as for your hickman, just think that’s the end of the poisonings!! Hope your path to the rads rushes is smooth and just in time for xmas, if it makes a girl light up you’ll be right in season!! Lights twinkling to land of NED for you…fantastic.
Herbi, get that seroma seen to, draining is a simple procedure and doesn’t hurt, you’ll be a lot more comfy after. I spend quite a lot of time in the seroma swamp lately and it’s bliddy damp down there, you are welcome to visit my tent by the lagoon, I am often there, sometimes jean is there also. Lagoon is much nicer than that swamp.
Mavis, glad to hear your news, rather diverwhatsit than a gremlin anyday!!
Everybody else best wishes and see you all in the JM. M
Me again
Forgot to say Hi Annie, pitch your tent wherever you want, mine is by the lagoon lots of space here.
See you in the JM as well. M
May see you there tonight Applestreet not been sleeping well last couple of nights.
Made sure the tent is ready and stocked with alcohol and fresh fruit.
See you later.

It’s good to see the woods filling up with new people. Lots of room for new tents or try and find an empty one that has been vacated by someone who has moved on to travel a little further down the path. I am heading for the Mx marshes on December 20th but no intention of vacating the tent yet as I will need to rest and recover and can’t think of a more relaxing place than here.
Jars of newts are lined up ready for Wednesday, hope there are enough! If there are any spare I will put them back into the lagoon for others to fish out. I don’t think they keep for too long in the jam jars.
Taste buds have recovered - takes them longer with each chemo session! I now have 4 nights of eating and drinking to look forward to before the tasteslikecardboard gremlins invade my life again.
Supertrooper - help yourself to the great crested neuts from my old well. Soddit is almost as good as Buggerit at fishing for them with your jam jars. I had 9.4 yesterday …not bad for an old one.
Jean you are in that bar again . FEC must be going well , excuse the pun you too may fish there. I am going to take Soddit to the tent I have placed within sight of the Rads Rushes … …Gosh do they glow!!! He too is tired so we will snuggle up together to keep warm and he can wander off to see his friends in the land of NED tomorrow., while I bake. I must not forget to get Al. Vera and Aqueous to call .
Be of good faith one and all
Cackles xxx
be great to see Soddit again tomorrow… just doing a night patrol to shoot any gremlins lurking round your tents… the JM sounds remarkably rowdy tonight… sounds fun… Russell Grant’s canon-entry has given me ideas for gremlins…!!!
Coffee morning (+ raffles, cake and book sale) raised £360!
Then went frolicking in the sunlit fields (good walk with an old friend), so I’m now slumped up against the bar in the JM with a large sloe gin.
Ate a lot of garlic tonight, so no need for flamethrowers, I’ll just breathe on any gremlins and they’ll go running.
Dx
All this revelling has woken Soddit who wants to see you all , so I am sending him across to the JM. I am not thirsty but wouldn’t mind some food. I think St… Eroid is around somewhere too . He is always HUNGREY Better feed him or I will get no sleep.
Cacklesxxxxx
Herbie.
In betweeen draining (which doesnt hurt a bit - and that from a needle phobe)… try tucking a small cushion under your arm when you go to sleep. I found that putting pressure on the seroma kept it down a bit and more comfy.
Cackles, I am offering a cyberhand for the 9th, I’ve already had 1 Hickman out and replaced and it was a doddle to take out. I had an infection and the line was stuck fast but I still only felt a bit of tugging. With a line that is healthy it should slide out easily.
All these cakes on offer this weekend will make it hard to get into our tents. Funny how savouries have lost their taste, but sweet things can still taste lovely. Mmmmm!
Small se’s for this week, everyone.
Love
June
June your cyber hand much appreciated. It was traumatic going in ( I think it was the first she had done alone…poor girl. So I do not have great faith in it) so junes’s hand on one shoulder … Still have room for others. Soddit can come and guard me from replacing June for getmeoutofherenow.
Morning Woodies your party in the JM sounded good but Soddit had made me so warm I did not want to leave my bed. Thank you for the food. St. Eroid ate it all.
Cackles will be there with a hand on your shoulder or. Holding your hand whenever you need it
Jean xxx
Cackles, my hand’s on your shoulder as well (shall we play a game of one potato, two potato on Cackles’ shoulder?)
My Hickman was also horrendous to have put in as I have very small veins and he had to try five different places, (ending up part-way up my neck) but it came out in seconds soooo easily and I felt absolutely NOTHING.
OK, if anyone’s a bit peckish I’ve made fruity bars, lemon shortbread, Grantham gingerbread and double chocolate cookies as I’m doing the coffee and biccies after church this morning. As usual I’ve made far too much so will re-stock the Patisserie Yurt - June’s made serious inroads into our supplies and I’m sure Soddit had the last piece of lemon drizzle cake.
Jane xxx
Cakles - I’m in on playing 3 potatoes on your shoulder too!! I hope it goes well for you!
My sleep fairies and wake up goblins are still playing up in the early hours - I think the sleep fairies are winning though as I managed to prepare the veg and sides for a roast pork dinner that I shall bring along with me later, apple & radpberry crumble too!
So inspired with all the baking that goes on in the wood, I made some gingerbread which I’ll bring along later (if the OH hasn’t polished it off!!)
See you all later … What time does the JM open??

I hate to sound as if all hte oldies were alcoholic, cake-oholic people, but the JM never closed as far as I remember… We often had coffee brewing in one tent or another… lovely wake up call… enjoy… remember - no calories in these cakes, and no addiction from the wine/gin either… but PLEASE don’t give Soddit too many cakes… Jane
