Hi all, still firmly stuck in seroma swamp. Hospital only drains on a Monday so hopefully wgjjtad dealt with tomorrow. Am being stalked by the phantom boobie bird today too, a sort of dull ache sitting on my chest where things used to be. Doesn’t seem to be attracting any twitchers though will have to get dill to see it off!! Made choc chip cookies and Christmas able today so house smelling festive . Will bring some to share
Thanks for advice by way

Hi gypsylady I will be doing a chinese during the week, since told not to have chinese or indian takeaway really want one so going to do it myself much nicer.
I hope this means that everyone else had a goodnight sleep, I doubt it but hope it is the cse.
Needless to say I have been sat outside tent by the lagoon reading for an hour and half. Soddit came and said hello kept me company for a little while but hes run off again now. Coffee machine on.
hI Jean, been wandering around the tents and the swamp looking for newts in preparation for Wednesday Chemo, tomorrow, or is it today forum clock an hour fast,am wide awake.Must do some tasks today,Tuesday going on looking good course and starting Steroids.Wed full day see Onc, followed by Chemo Session if bloods ok! have to go in 1 hour before just to take a special anti sick pill. After Chemo infusion, to see surgeon re Seroma, having weekly drainage since Aug,think she wants to put in a drain, not happy it means carrying a bag again, plus I think it is a conduit for infection. Can I join you for a coffee??
sorry Mavis I had gone back to sleep but would have loved to have had coffee with you and to chew the cud while we drank.
How do you feel your newt collection is going, do you feel you need anymore will have to go looking for some for you.
I know carrying bag is not nice but if it helps to get rid of the seroma once and for all a week will be a small price to pay although I can understand you being worried about the infection risk.
You have a busy few days up to chemo don’t tire yourself out too much save some energy to help you after it.
Hope you found enough neuts last night Mavis. What a pain the Seroma swamp is still dragging on. Hopefully it will go after the chemo is over. The darling Soddit curled up next to me last night rather than wander. He even threatened the sleep fairy with a low growl when she tried to slip off. So after all the fuss of landing on the kitchen floor out cold I had a lovely nights sleep. Bliss.
Jean are you making coffee? it might get through the cornflour paste mouth…if nothing else it will smell nice!
Cackles xx
Cackles, the best thing I found for the revolting mouth was sparkling water.
I think there’s a sparkling water fountain somewhere down near the sunlit lagoon. if you’re very lucky there’ll be a handsome hunk there with a glass at the ready and a lovely comfy lounger for you to recline on while you drink it.
Sorry I’m new to this but have you got any spare newts? I’ve got to inject myself for the next 7 days running to get some more.
Maybe I should ask Ken Livingstone, but then maybe not.
Oh… and who is Soddit?
Dear Lin,
Soddit is a Labradoodle who looks after all of us while we try to find our way through the Dark, Dark Woods on our way to the Land of NED ( no evidence of disease). He is not mine, his original mistresses are our inspirations , guides and oracles …those that have found themselves scared and out of control with feet teetering on the edge of dispair and yet stepped in to the darkness and made paths that we novices follow slowly and at times with reluctance.
Do come and set up camp with us. We have good times as well as bad but even if we need flame throwers to keep the Gremlins at bay, but most importantly we have each other. So if you have letmeoutofhere on one shoulder and Positivethinking on the other just call and we will come and help.
If you want neuts I have spare great crested in my well. Feel free to fish there. Supertrooper has spare jam jars, and Buggerit will help you.
As you can see from the postings our Oracles do look after us.
ALTO -thank you for the hint re water… As usual you are right …It works!!! Even better than the Gin!!!
I am oFf to to Mavis’s Chalel now to light a Candle for those being poisoned today.
That blasted sleep Fairy had gone off again. I hope she is with Supertrooper and Mavis.
Cacklesxxx
I think I saw the sleep fairies creeping into to some of the other tents and nests earlier on tonight. I have left a notice outside my tent - a bit like the Santa stop Here signs. Just hope one of them takes pity on me tonight and grants me a couple of hours sleep.
Empty jam jars are back outside my tent - I took all the newts, even the slobbered on ones that Buggerit found - all newts are good newts! I will start gathering fresh newts tomorrow afternoon and leave them for the girls who have their final chemo on Friday.
Cackles - I do love the way you bring the woods alive with your narratives about our lives here. It really has been a sanity saver for me to be able to escape into this virtual world with all of you beside me. It’s a bit like I’m a cancer sufferer get me out of here!!! without Ant and Dec - we are stuck with PB and NE. None of us want to be here, but it is the best place.
Going to need an early start in the morning so if anyone is up brewing coffee please can you please tap on my tent?
Everyone else - rest easy in your tents and nests tonight - Supertrouper and Buggerit are patrolling the perimeter fences tonight with flame thrower at the ready to get rid of all the gremlins.
Super trooper go to sleep you are being done tomorrow, bless you. I have an amazing mental picture of you and your energy. Something between Jane and Tarzan crashing through the trees and then a quiet muse contrmplation her next move.
We will be soon into the outer world of normality and NED and a big meet up…fantastic. Mines a Gin , large white wine, ,rare steak , scollops, prawns , salad , pâté, Camembert, soft egg, a Chinese and an Indian. Don’t forget the fish and chips.
I have “bringiton” with me Soddit rounded him up while looking in vein for the sleep fairy and positivethinkin…I will send him over to your tent. You could of course finish the night off in my old nest in the Yew tree and absorb all the spare Tax from the cuttings…have you seen Mavis tonight.? It is not like her to go quite. I will go and see if she is ok…
Jean is on coffee duty this week. I really fancy a pain au raisin warm and full of calories.
Mavis where are you??? Do not get lost in those seroma swamps…they do go just not when you are on chemo.
Love and Light
Cackles
Cackles - going to take you up on your offer of the use of your old nest tonight. You are of course correct and I should try and get some sleep.
I have nothingisgoingtogetmedown with me tonight who is a great companion to have. Also got distant Reiki booked for last chemo which will probably make me fall asleep whilst hooked up to the drip.
Going to climb up into the nest in the old yew tree now and absorb the spare Tax from the cuttings. Will dream of the candles in the chapel helping to light up the dark night.
Just came to see how you all are… blessings on your taxings today… may all your se’s be little ones… and may StEroid not keep you awake TOO much (or may there be a party if he does!!!) Soddit brought me Iwillsurvive when I came in, so I’ve sent him off round the tents with her to see who needs her most… If a ny of you are wired and fed up, see if you can find the Benchland post (I’ll bump it) - and have a read through - it has some hilarious moments…
have a great day… thanks for the coffee… love Jane
I’m peeking in from the world of W.O.R.K. - a place that was strange and cofusing at first. Now, while still tiring, I’m there for 40hrs a week and it’s all becoming ‘normal’ again.
However, energy levels are flagging a bit today, so a strong coffee and a maple pecan danish would just hit the spot!
Sending hugs and good wishes to all Woodies. I’ll be in the JM at the end of the week for a stiff gin.
Hello I’m not very good with tents, would it be ok if I bring my garden shed into the woods? Just needs a bit of hard standing under the big oak tree. I can huddle down in it and light a brazier out the front these cold nights. Maybe we could do a barbecque. Minted lamb chops anyone?
Found some newts this morning. Didn’t realise that it’s lagoon water in the little bottles.
Please send the sleep fairy round tonight if she’s free. St Eroid blessed me yesterday at chemo, luckily he won’t be back today.
Looking out for the birds, Bluetits are a favorite. Justonetit will be me in a few weeks.
Lots of love to all and thanks for the giggles.
Lin
Gosh, with new Woodies in attendance maybe it’s time to open up the craft yurt again and get going on some more merkin knitting classes. You can add as many sparkles and coloured threads as you like. SCACO’s even played the Star Spangled Banner.
Then, when you’ve finished chemo and don’t need your merkin any more you can leave it pinned to the flagpole waving in the breeze to encourage those following along behind.
