Morning Woodies
Jean you might not think it today but you will come to love that Pic Line. I am sorry folks Soddit seems to have managed to catch every sleep fairy that was passing . Probably because all was quiet the night before and I was the only person they could see. Bliss, two nights of deep slumber, an unexpected delight and the resulting energy renewal.
Alto I watched Doctors while wasting good energy on ironing…she will go far, something tells me we will see a lot of her in the future. When she is really famous BCC will have to get her involved!! Things are really tight for smaller charities at the moment.
Gosh look at the time I will put on the coffee and then as I have a few weeks before my entry into the Rads Rushes I might collect holly and some ivy and make a few garlands and wreaths… I don’t need a merkin anymore.
Shine those torches girls
Cackles xx
What a good idea Cackles - she’s such a lovely girl I’m sure she’d be very supportive. She started off with our village am dram group and it was always very obvious how talented she was.
Tryying to keep my torch lit at the moment - got my first annual mammo tomorrow so I think some comfort food might be in order to keep it burning. What shall I bake?
On another subject, I’m going to the hairdresser tonight for a trim and my first post-chemo colour. One of my friends wants me to have it pink. Hmmm…
I was wandering the woods at 2.00 this morning. Couldn’t find that elusive sleep fairy. (one of you must have locked her up?)
It was my last FEC yesterday and I think it was a bit mean of whoever it was to keep her all night. Grmph!
It felt odd yesterday. I was told that I’d have a review appointment in 6 weeks… but… it wont be at the chemo clinic as I will not be on chemo, but at the normal outpatients clinic. I felt ‘kicked out’. Yet I still have to come in every 3 weeks for the Herceptin.
Have a Christmas Party to look forward to tomorrow night, so hoping the se’s hold off for a bit.
Love and <<<hugs> to everyone being pricked, poked, prodded and processed this week.</hugs>
Congratulations on your last FEC :)) but it wasn’t me who hijacked the sleep fairy - I got one with a sense of humour again! (You know the one that let’s you sleep for a couple of hours then wakes you up again for the hell of it!)
Going to try and wear myself out today doing housework - perhaps that will work??? I live in hope!
It wasn,t me who caught the sleep fairy, need positivethinking today hope she stays around, need more ammo for flamethrower, am real weepy queen today, woeisme and ifeelsorryformyself visited me at 3am this morning and will not b****roff and leave me alone!!!
At least am still sailing clear of seroma swamp.
Am due to see oncy tomorrow and am afraid of her saying pink plastercast will delay chemo and am afraid of her saying it won’t!!!
Need to buck my ideas up methinks!! Now anyone seen bringiton?
Had 2nd chemo today so got a fresh load of knights on white horses coursing through the blood killing everything they think might not be good for me.
Cackles I already love my PICC line bloods and chemo went really well with not being poked and prodded trying to find a vein.
Glad to hear you are managing to steer clear of seroma swamp applestreet but sorry to hear that you are feeling so low, you will pick up once you have 1st chemo and get over that fear of the unknown.
May well be wandering the woods too tonight looking for the sleep fairy but will take a codeine as that generally knocks me out so may help.
Morning Woodies …again the sleep fairy remained with me for the second night. I did admit yesterday to finding them at last. Perhaps it is the relaxation knowing no further poisoning is necessary. Having said that sorry June, anneK, Jean and Applestreet I was selfish in letting Soddit round up the whole woods contingency… But the wretched things have hardly visited me in four months and I thought I was alone that night!!!
Appletree there are lots of spare bundles of positive thinking near my old nest in the Yew tree. Perhaps Supertrouper will get Buggerit to find you Bringiton and he could fish for some spare neuts. That pink plaster might help you fend of other Gremlins because you may rest rather than overdo things. I hope you Oncmeeting is positive.
Alto how did the great squash go? You are going to the HAIRDRESSER !!! Hair, what hair ? I am still looking for my Bagger’s pelt with blonde ends. If found please retun to the bald frog like creature in a tent near the rad rushes …me
GI Jane yesterday’s marmalade wes lovely. I will look for your trodden path lthrough the Rads Rushes and call you if I get lost.
I will make breakfast for -all today as I feel so fresh.
Cackles
Well, I’m back from being squished. All I can say is that having a mammogram five months after finishing rads is not a whole lot of fun. My poor boob is tender at the best of times. Ouch!! The lovely lady doing the mammo said she could feel it was still quite hard and she did apologise for having to hurt me. She also showed me the scans and I hadn’t realised that I’ve got a load of clips both in my armpit and boob. I couldn’t see anything sinister (and last time it was glaringly obvious), so fingers crossed for NEDland. Just got to wait to hear now. Thankfully I went in early so didn’t have to hang around and am now back at work having a late lunch break and pigging out on cashews and almonds as a treat.
I also now have a very neat, reddish brown crop on my head. Not entirely sure about the colour as it’s darker than I expected but I think I’ll get used to it. It is a nice colour, I’m just not used to seeing it on me!
I’m another one who resorts to codeine sometimes at night - last night being a case in point after three almost entirely sleepless nights. I hope the sleep fairy will stay a bit longer now I’ve got today out of the way.
Annie when you take codeine you need to remember that one of the SEs is constipation so just be aware.
Cackles so pleased that you are at long last catching up on your sleep and I am sure none of would be begrudge you that.
Slept on and off most of the night so didn’t too bad really, see how i do tonight, cleaned out the tent and made it really cosy ready for the next couple of nights.
Evening woodies - home made ice-cream available from my tent for a limited time only. Been off in the real world for the past couple of days dealing with telecomms switch over and other “stuff” - now back in the woods for the weekend for some well earned R&R. Buggerit is in his element at the moment hunting out newts that I need in seven days time for my pre-op on Dec 9th. It’s a bit early to be expecting my newt stream to have adequate numbers which is why he is off snuffling in the undergrowth early. If anyone has spare newts please can you leave them in the jam jars outside my tent? Many thanks!!
Sleep fairy has been bringing along a rather unwelcome guest with her - the “youcansleepbutbetyouwishyouwereawake” gremlin. Weird dreams!! But sleep is sleep. Mustn’t grumble!!
Going to dig out my fairy lights from the back of my tent tonight and trim up the tree next to the lagoon - come on girls, what decorations are you bringing into the woods for Christmas?
See you later in the JM for a glass or two of mulled wine? or what ever you fancy!
Ooh, how exciting - my lovely son submitted his UCAS form on Wednesday and today received an offer from Coventry Uni to study Games Technology. Not his first choice and quite a high offer, but he’s very happy tonight!
See you all down the JM for a little celebratory tot of something suitable.
Hi all, just popped back in to see how everyone is getting on and have a quick snifter in the JM (mine’s a large merlot please).
I’m still letting my hair do its own strange wavy grey thing - in fact the incredibly expensive but nice hairdresser @ toni&guys suggested i leave it au naturel grey but I’m not sure. I still dont even feel it’s my hair - I had over 50 years of straight hair and never a curl was seen.
I’ll have a root round for spare newts for those that need them. I’m full up with them now.
marzipan mince pies just cooling now if anyone’s interested. careful they are hot hot hot inside.
Games technology eh? Tis the way forward - well done to him
Evening Woodies…I am not green with this talk of hair from dwellers in the LAND of NED . To prove it I am just sending Soddit off to round up a hare…I have a every good recipe for jugging it!!!
Alto superb news drinks on you.
Frog like Cacklesxxx
Oh dear. Sleep fairy deserted at 3.45am and I’ve given up and made a cup of tea and put the washing on.
Can’t see any other lights in the forest but it’s peaceful with the breeze blowing through the trees. Is Soddit around anywhere? Could do with a cuddle.
Sky and Gran could you spare some newts? I had 7 days of jabs so it should be improving but backaches and headaches as a result. My bone marrow must be on overtime. Also something in my breast is a bit tender - probably a bit of stray tissue that doesn’t like the poison. It’s all coming off next month anyway.
Coventry Uni is where our boys went - good place. But Alto your son will get other offers. What’s his first choice?
My hair is still growing but grey is increasing in stripes. It still seems to be dead straight though. OH’s latest name for me is Badger. Appropriate for the forest really, I’ll just do a bit more snuffling around.
Love to all
Lin
just put a pot of newts outside my tent for you to collect I hope they help do the trick.
Not done too bad myself got 6 1/2 hours sleep 2nd night after 2nd chemo and although still taking anti sickness tablets it really isn’t as bad this time around.
Just put a pot of coffee if anyone around and fancies one sat by the lagoon, quite pleasant sat out here with just a light breeze.
