Standing outside the dark, dark woods.

Good morning fellow Woodies.
Hope most of you managed to keep hold of a sllep fairy last night. I had one yesterday morning and evening till 9 this morning. So I think maybe I was hogging her so sorry. Getupandgo has knocked at my tent today so feeling much better.
leaving the woods to go out to a friends for lunch. I think she’s cooking fishcakes so I don’t know how they will taste but she’s an excellent cook so hopefully I can appreciate them.

Cackles I am on FEC x 6 so hoping that now first one out the way others won’t be as bad. At least I know which vein they should try first. They did mention picc line but as I’m only having 6 the nurse didn’t think it would be necessary.

Love Jacqui x

Hello just a quick visit in order to see Revcats curls, cant see pictures unless I post, anyone know why?
Love and Light xx Mavis

Wow Revcat, such ENVY,it is incredible, bet you cant keep your fingers off your head.Just off for Rads 5 will look in again
(((HUGS)))Mavis

Mavis - I can’t see pictures until I have signed in.

Shadders I had a picc line in after 2 chemo sessions, I have quite fine veins and the chemo was beginning to ruin them - if you get offered one accept!

I’ve been using my flame thrower this morning to get a good camp fire burning - some nasty gremlin crept into my tent this week and fiddled with my combi boiler which has meant cold showers this week and no heating. Icanfixthis has just finished mending it so I will use the camp fire to do a bbq. I have sausages and bacon if anyone wants to join me. Fresh coffee brewing too.

Crazy curls RevCat!
Dx

LOL DJ well they were until this morning… and it’s still trying to revert at the slightest hint of dampness.

Cackles/Supertrouper - new photo for the JM dartboard! Hope the clippings were useful.

Ought to get back to Land of NED and do some work really… not this minute obviously, but today has been unproductive and have to catch up tomorrow.

I trapped a couple of sleep fairies and left them by Cackle’s old yew tree, should anyone need them…

RevCat - love the hair do!! And the big smile to go with it too x

Wow! Revcat! Won’t recognise you at the next meet.Seriously, you look great,
Margaret

Evening Woodies,

Great hairdo RevCat. I was busy with the pre-op this morning so didn’t get to see the crazy curls. It took 4 attempt to get a simple blood sample so chemo should be fun (not!) I shall be pushing for a picc line.

Cackles - I will definitely take you up on your offer of Buggerit to chase away those gremlins. I don’t have to worry about St Eroid yet, but have had dealings with him in the past and I’m not looking forward to meeting him again. Thanks for the tip on the lammumba sounds delish.

Morning Woodies
The sleep fairy actually came too soon last night if there is such a thing as too soon.
The "Clippings " are very fine RevCat, the hairdresser did a grand job on you. I think we will let your photograph off dart practice. It can hang up as encouragement for things to come. We can always pin a party hat on it when we have a knees up in the JM and you are at work!
The rads rushes are getting stiffer to move so Aqueous has been summoned for a soak to soften things. Di Clofenac bless her has been helping cool things down around my hot tent . I know you need the heat right now Supertrooper but your camp it too far away.
Ratina Buggerit is on his way. He can’t stand the smell of burning in the Rads Rushes.
Shadders keep that arm and vein warm when they drip in the poison. I would lend you a vein but mine run away at sight of needles.
Mavis as Supertrooper says sign in. It took me months to work it out!!!
Annie I so hope the outfit worked. You don’t want Gremlins about when newts are not taking the bait. How are your arms after their hanging?
I am now off to hit a ball hopefully into a hole.
Cackles

Gosh its been forever since I stumbled into the darkness but have to come in and say wow RevCat hair is looking great. Mines still trying to become long enough to style. Shadders have a picc line in asap. It is easyily done and hardly any discomfort but a much easier time for the chemo. I was FEC x 6 first one was a doddle, second one gave me vein pain, third one made me want to run and hide and not follow through. (the girls here got me through) and the hospital nurse who inserted the line said she would have done it before chemo3 as an emergency if she had been asked. AND boy i was glad to have it.
Now off to JM to mingle with the woodies and have a few jars. Chris

Hi Woodies,

OMG - I’m so nervous about tomorrow’s vampire visit!!

Cackles, I wore my outfit, rang the bell & OH had the placcard!! All went well and providing the newts are sufficient and chemo happens on Monday - I’m set to move to Rads Rushes on 15th Feb!!!

Shadders - I agree with Little Miss Whoops about the PICC line - I’ve had mine since FEC3 best thing ever! The benefits definitely outweigh any disadvantages. My nurse said she thought that it should be given at No 1 for FEC patients as it is so harsh on the veins! Oh yes another big plus is that it’s quicker to have the FEC too!

I’m off to the JM for a precautionary Guinness after all, my last session was only 15 days ago …gulp!!!

Have a good night everyone!

Evening Woodies,
Shadders ONLY Six!!!Pic Lines and FEC go together so well …less pain in vein etc a Hickman is also ok especially if you need Herceptin as well. I had problems at FEC number one after four people tried and failed. The fith made it into a high vein which they don’t like using so a Hickman was ordered. I now hate all needles. Ask for one they can only say no. It can mess up your veins if you don’t have it done. The vein needs flushed through really well. Thus the hottie to keep it open so the drugs go through easily. See how you go and with any problem run straight back into the Wood and we will hold your hand. Shoulders being prepared to give something to lean on.
Has anybody seen a Panda prowling the wood looking for bamboo? I thought he was being invited to provide spare hair .
Sleep well and enjoy that Guinness !
Cackles

Evening woodies,
Out fishing tonight as have appointment for bloods etc tomorrow. Here,s hoping they don,t have too much trouble getting it out. Could do with a sleep fairy but Dill does love to chase anything that moves and is keeping them away. Hair shedding now so will leave a pile outside my tent in case anyone fancies doing some weaving ! I used to have a boss who wore jumpers made from her rabbits fur so anything is possible with a bit of imagination!

Evening Woodies,

I need to newt dipping again 0.93 but Onc is confident that we’ll get to the magic number or Monday (I’m currently on day 16 as I got delayed with the chest infection!)

There’s light at the end of the light or is that a steam train coming my way???

Off to the lagoon with my Guinness!!

Love to all

Evening ladies

Haven’t been on for a while, after Xmas and all the windy weather we rashly decided to move house!!! At one point I thought we were going to end up dancing with the munchkins as we are quite Oop North.

So…have been busy tidying and preparing said house and being amused by estate agents looking round and valueing.

Have actually managed to acquire first infusion of Chateau Swamp Juice vintage 2012 which went quite well…for a few hours and was violently sick all weekend!!! Had a little holiday in a nice private room in local Stalag Chemo Hut and had lots of infusion of various little liquids to stop vomiting… 1 down 5 to go!!!

Being aboard the Hickman line is the best thing I have had done, no needles…heaven.

I would like to say Happy New Year to all Woodies and may 2012 bring you all you may wish for. M

I have been busy and so has Buggerit, several jars of newts are now lined up outside my tent for anyone who needs them. I have also put extra cushions and fleece blankets inside my therapy tent for those who need therapy this weekend. Lots of people feeling down in the dumps at the moment and with the cold weather and dark nights we need to be doing something to cheer ourselves up!

I have suggested putting on dvds in the JM bar starting with Mama Mia tomorrow night and then Monty Python and the Holy Grail on Sunday. All suggestions for Monday and Tuesday would be most welcome. We also need someone to volunteer to distract PB when Mama Mia is on - how bad would it be for him to sing along to himself on the DVD!!!

Good Evening Woodies,

Haven’t been here for a little while, been busy overheating running up & down Tamoxifen Towers stairs!

The good news is I’ve had 1st Mammo post Dx and got All Clear or NED!!

The other good news fellow woodies is that my cherry tree’s gone mental and is in full blossom AND it’s getting lighter in the mornings going to work and not pitch black!

Lots of love to you all

XXXHelenXXX

Ps - Unless you really, really want PB singing in the JM I wouldn’t suggest the Mama Mia DVD xxx

Nooooooooooooo not PB singing and doing dad dancing…pleeeeease!!!

Suggestions for dvd…Bridget Jones,Shirley Valentine and any musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber…sad I know but I love them all…anything with Colin Firth in especially if it involves wet shirts a la Mr Darcy …I could go on and on but I won’t…M

So glad to see the woods are still a good place to be- but am surprised PB is still around!
You all seem to be keeping up the good work- eating, drinking , losing your Neuts and finding them again!
I too have had my yearly appt and date for Feb next year. Still awaiting mammo results but was told if any probs I would hear within a few days so I’m positive they’ll be OK.I’ll let you know.
Helen is so right! Dark days are going !
