Standing outside the dark, dark woods.

Morning everyone xxx,

Kitty, I thought I was an early bird but you made me feel quite guilty so I’ve raided the cupboards and fridge and now making loads of naughty gooy things to eat after your wonderful chilli. Also, making a treat for your Posse, Pixie and any other moggie in the woods.

Sometimes I feel a bit guilty because some of you lovely people have had to have chemo where as I didn’t - I had a MX and lymph node clearance followed by rads. Mind you some of the meds I’m on because of the nerve damage is making my hair rather thin. Enough of that!!!

Whilst everything is cooking I’m going to sort out an outift for tonight so see you all later.

By the way, anyone for a bacon buttie?

XXXX

Mornin’ all… bacon butties in the JM as we get everything ready??

I probably should nip back to Banchland for a rant, but all this fancy dress is making me feel VERY inadequate… I used to dread the children coming home and saying “we’ve got to dress up as…” hate sewing… so…someone very kindly offered to sew for me…can I have a costume like Ian Whaite’s spider on It takes Two last week?

Welcome newbies - you won’t be confused for long. All you have to remember is that we’re all slightly barmy and that that helps a great deal! The Woods provide solace and laughter on days when the sun don’t shine… You’ll find the patisserie yurt (calorie free cakes) near the JM… there’s a lagoon, and a chapel, lots of flamethrowers…

I’m up for resurrecting The Twisted Nipples! Yay! anyone join me? Shall we NOT do Abba this time?? or maybe we should…

Jane xx

Hi Jane, if it’s allowed as a newbie, I would love to join The Twisted Nipples. Helen xx

Ah Jane, the problem in doing Abba is that it REALLY is impossible to stop PB from joining in then. All you need to remember is that musical ability really wasn’t a requirement, in fact was positively discouraged!

Helen - LOVE to have you in the group! Having the name we do, our subtitle name is “noboysaloud”. I’m fancying having a Carpenter’s night, but that probably shows my vintage! Any other ideas for the group?
THe balloons are looking good as they go up!

Mary Grace - We have my rock hard rock cakes that went wrong when I was baking for the party tonight, so if PB does sing, we can throw them at him  x

@ Scaredy Cat - sorry, no guilt allowed! It you parcel it for me, I will take it back to Benchland for you and hurl it into the Lake of Guilt where the alligators will eat it up. The Lake of Guilt is a lovely blue and looks really attractive but is surrounded by signs that say NO SWIMMING and NO FISHING; in case you fall in, it is surrounded by life belts too. I should point out that the canal does NOT connect to the L of G at any point, we do not want stray alligaotrs finding their way over here. Now the Lagoon on the Woods, that’s a whole different lake, very lovely and a great place to hang out; if I were you I’d go there instead

Oh, forgot to say, can Pukey Cat come to the party - she’d love to meet all th eother Companion Animals

Jane, Carpenters night - brilliant idea ! ‘We’ve Only Just Begun …’ just dont let me sing the high notes… Im probably worse than PB
Hahaha Ali, you are so funny, every comment you make makes me laugh, sitting here with a silly grin on my face.
My cooking skills are not up to much even in NEDland (except my Sunday roasts and Lemon Drizzle Cakes, (oh and my bread pudding), so have just made a lovely Lemon drizzle for the party, but I am concentrating all my efforts on the decorations. Will be having and extra large jug of einter Pimms, as Monday (my birthday) looks like being a quiet one.
See you all later xx

I can’t sing at all in fact PB probably sounds good compared to me lolol…love the Carpenters too…warbles’Calling Occupants From Inetrplanetary Craft’…hmmm maybe that not the best one as might attract man with blue box and he may bring the daleks… please can I join group too will scare PB of no problem?

Now I’m wandering about the house singing Carpenter’s songs. At least now I’ll only be slightly out of tune for my TN solo!
Doesn’t the wood look nice this morning–and the JM–so festive. I can’t believe how the pile of food is growing. The benchlanders are really going to be impressed! I especially like the vat of Winter Pimms and the red and white wine fountains, although the gently warming spiced apple juice is starting to smell delicious, too–I may have to test it a bit early. Thank goodness the falling leaves mean we never have to sweep or vacuum, they chrunch under foot in such a cheerful fashion.
Imelda sounds a brill costume–I’ve always admired those woman who chose getups where you can look elegant and still be in fancy dress. And of course, anyone named Pukey is welcome in these woods. I’ll bet PB doesn’t KNOW the Carpenter’s songs!
Off to do some more baking…

Jane - I love the Carpenters. How about songs from the Stylistic. Now that shows my vintage.

Rev Cat - Thank you so much. I’ve parcelled IT up for you. If it wasn’t so cold I definitely go for a swim in the Lagoon on the Woods but if you do see something resembling a whale that’ll be me. Of course Pukey Cat can come too. Now Pixie is not so much a scaredy cat, thanks to Kitty’s Posse, she will make her welcome too.

Kitty - I like DT too,as long he dosen’t bring the Daleks but we can always dig some traps for them.

Quail - No hoovering - YES!!! Those leaves will make soft lining for the nests in the yew trees.

Thank you all so much.

Helen xxxxx

Please can I join the choir?? I can’t hold a tune in a bucket, when I was at school I HAD to join the church choir (cause the nuns told me to, and you don’t argue with the women in black…) however they did point out that I was there to make the numbers up because I was tall, and to mime only - under no circumstances to let any sound out! So I can mime merrily to anything at all, with a special fondness for girl groups of the fifties and sixties. I do a lovely silent “we’re goin to the chapel an we’re gonna get mah-ah-ried”, "da doo Ron Ron " and “leader of the pack” (complete with revving bike engines and squeal of tyres). And my silent rendition of Tom Jones’ st James Infirmary Blues will bring a tear to the eye… Speaking of which, is breaking into hysterical sobbing with no reason or warning normal? Please say yes because I seem to be doing it.
Torn now over fancy dress…was going to be Morticia, but sitting amongst shoe boxes as Imelda Marcos would be easier. I know! Morticia, but with my bright red piddle-off-BC shoes. Perfick

Here I am - ready for the fancy dress party.
Now … BRING ME THOSE PUPPIES

Supertrouper you are FABULOUS!!! And quite scarey…lol… x

Supertrouper you are amazing as ever…love it …but i don’t think I would like to come across you in tne dark!!! I thought LGFB were there to teach you how to draw on eyebrows…you couldn’t have been listening!!!
I am ready to party but have a sore throat so can’t sing. …fannnnnnntastic time about to be had€€€€€¥¥¥¥¥

I am sooo excited! Cruella that is the most fab costume EVER–that dog–I’m still laughing. I think I’m seeing the boats approaching now. Hooray, ITS A PARTY!!! Make mine a LARGE one, please–and that drizzle cake–scrumptious (were we supposed to wait 'till they got here to start eating and drinking?)

Wow ST that is a-may-zing! Scary or what? Brill! Let the revels commence!

Oh so fabulous ST… but Soddit has done a runner! NOT going to be food !!!
Wheee! Look at those FIREWORKS!!!

A-MAY- ZING or is that sing?! I feel a song coming on… just not sure which one! Puppy love???

S T , FAAAAAABLOUS DAAARLING
You and Ali should be on the stage, you as a character actor and Ali a stand up comedian, soo impressed!!
Loving this party, Uncle Fester’s dance moves coming c/o Strictly. Whew, time for a sit down and pint of Pimms
