Hi janipi,

sending you cyber hugs of reassurance for tomorrow

Janipi, sending hugs for tomorrow, hope all goes well. Pxxx

Good luck, janipi. I think we need to start some hamster-training classes in the woods, so they can learn how to protect our tents while we’re out doing silly stuff like attending chemo sessions.

I’ve got my wig fitting next week and still can’t decide whether to be a bit boring and go for something that resembles what’s on my head at the moment, or go for something rather wild and very different. Both ideas have their merits, I’m just crap at making decisions! PEACHEZZZZ!!! YOU’RE BOOKED FOR NEXT WEEK!!! HEEEEELLLLLPPPP!!!

Hope it goes well Janipi x

Good luck, Janipi, and send bringiton to me for Friday, please.

Can you imagine that there are people who take steroids by choice?

Cheryl

Good luck for today janipi - I’ve left the darkened comfy cushion corner now so you’ll have plenty of room to stretch out.

A whole flock of bringiton fairies are heading your way Cheryl, and I’ve dispatched a flame thrower with them as well.

I’ve been so busy the last few days with my gorgeous daughter home from uni for a whole week - did far too much yesterday and paid for it with a state of total exhaustion.

However, for the very first time…

…I went commando! It was far too hot in the restaurant we went to for lunch and I’d gone out in a fleecy hat so off it came - and it was so liberating!!! I caught a few glances but if anyone had a problem with it it was most definitely their problem and not mine.

Going out again today with my lovely little team from work - our pre-Christmas lunch never happened because of my DX, so we’re going out today instead. And it’s all on the company, so bring on the steak.

Also collecting my head hamster today. I seriously doubt that I’ll ever wear it - even assuming I can train it to sit still for long enough - once it gets into the woods it’ll probably just run off with the rest.

Best wishes janipi - i’m hot on your heels for monday (FEC3).

On wig front, as you know tend to go Commando but if out with the little’un I always ask him what he wants me to do. So Saturday took him to the pictures in my wig, although he did say i could take it off when it was dark! ('cos he knows it’s itchy. However, in true form, got to pics and realised that i’d left wallet behind. I had boked on internet but hadn’t got card as proof. This called for the ‘Cancer card’. I whipped off wig, stuck it under my jumper, instructed children (6yr and 15yr) to adopt sad faces and appeared at the window to plead my case. No problem and no questions. fabulous.

Margaret - enjoy the sherry and forget the sober bit or you’ll just remember that you’re supposed to be paranoid on the steroids and then worry if you’re not!

I have a reiki session today and after that i’m sitting on sofa.

Hurrah Alto - Commando is definitely the new black.

Hi,
My wig sits on a plastic skull (my son’s - don’t ask). Seemed just the right shape and size for the task. OH doesn’t like it there - but doesn’t bother me - I’m pragmatic and little imagination. I usually drape a scarf over it though - to keep dust off wig.

hi
My wig just sits in a corner of my bedroom looking at me woefully and pleading to be let out. It has only had one outing and that was on the day that I had it fitted. Now i have aquired a velcro look head of hair its chances of an excursion are becoming remote. I reckon I should turn it into the wild and let it have a romp in the woods. My friends son is coming to set up the Wii this morning so I shall probably have a bit of a work out today…well, mayvbe tomorrow.
I love the technique Staco, good call!

SCCO, love the tactics!
Have posted on the meet-up thread. Excited but also a bit scared of meeting lovely new people…

There’ll be a lot of wig hamsters running around the woods with all the eyebrows and eyelashes, so you think they may interbreed and create multi coloured furry merkins? x

Hi Staycalmandcarry on,

Very interested in reiki, do you feel any different after its done, also how often do you have it done?

Sarah X

If we keep this up ladies, there will be enough unwanted hair out there to make a whole new person, never mind a hamster…!
Has anyone tried streaks in their wig? I was wondering about those hair mousses you can get from Boots etc? It’s either that, or look out for the large plume of smoke coming from the middle of the woods!! Or, maybe Sophie can supplement her wool supplies…??
Hope it’s gone ok Janipi…

FEC 3 all done and I’ve brought back the bringiton fairy. She was a great help. Heading for the darkened cushion corner for a bit. Left my hamster (wig) at home as was very late up and dragging my heels this morning. Saw a fellow baldy who just whipped off her hat in the chemo unit. She looked great but I didn’t get the urge to whip mine off. Maybe next time.x

janipi, well done on fec 3… i hope the se will be find to you, how brave for someone to wip there hat of, i cannot ever think i will be brave enough to do it, but hats of to her!!!

Tare care

keep drinking the water
Love and hugs DONNA

Hope all the runaway wigs keep away from the camp fires!

Amber; Don’t worry, I feel just the same, at least my syrup is house trained now, I promise it won’t bite, it leaps on my head in the morning and stays put for hours.

Scaco, well done on the cinema front; I’ve used the cancer card (chemo style scarf round head) to get the builders booked to fix the roof leak that’s ruining the kitchen ceiling! Well done those that feel free to go commando, don’t think I’ll be doing so anytime soon.

Have been to T’ai Chi this morning, which resulted in a warm glow, very gentle and doable, my appearance lowered the average age of the group by quite a bit though!

Choccie, will pm you soon re wig fitting next week. DON’T PANIC !!

Hugs to all with cocktails/SEs this week.

Sazzie Sarah - just back from reiki. The idea is that all cells hold memories and that sometimes they can be the trigger for stuff going wrong or block healing. Reiki is meant to channel energy to help healing. I’m not completely sold but am open minded enough to give it a try. I definitely think that stress can cuase physical problems, afterall people can get eczema on the outside when stressed so why not inside?

I have aromatherapy on NHS too, which goes hand in hand really.

A big thing is imagining the power of healing, so chemo, in my head, is an arsenal delivery to the army currently taking residence in my body. Every night me and the Commander have a meeting to discuss tactics and i tell him where i want him to post his troops.

Of course i might sound barking but it’s working for me and being as both surgeon and onc are really surprised with how quick it’s shrinking the tumours i sticking with it!

If nothing else Reiki gives you chance to voice your fears and thoughts and have an hour to drift off.

‘whip off those wigs ladies’ let’s give ‘The C that can not be named’ the two-fingered salute. xx

SCACO,

Brilliant  you have inspired me to look into a cpl of things, am with you all the way on the 2 fingered salute aswell as talking to the troops
