Hello still feeling oksih!
No sickness or nausea just feel tired! So I had a nap this afternoon.
My hair is really thin so having to wear my wig now which I like but doesn’t feel like it fits properly probably just need to get used to it!
Having major prob with OH again, can’t deal with the stress and the moaning really need love and support not depression and wallowing in self pity. He needs a job and to get out of the house. I’ve also got the work thing hanging over my head and two small children. I would rather be
Thank god for my sister she took my daughter out so I could have a nap which I desperately needed. Its so hard when you are tired and you have the kids as well!
Sorry for ranting got a lot on my plate at the moment!
Hope you are all having good days.
Love fran xx

Gill - didn’t even think about nose hair!! So strange how eyebrows and eyelashes manage to cling on!!

Fran - sorry to hear your problems with OH - sounds like you have enough on your plate without extra moaning. Think this is difficult for everyone to get their heads around. Good place to have a rant on here and get support from all the lovely Feb ladies but I really feel for you. Sending you a big hug xx

Hi everyone - back from No. 2 juicing and feeling OK (half way there now) - have done 1.5 litres of water and now for the next bottle! The cannula wasn’t nearly as painful as the first either. Did the cold cap but really wondering if I’ll bother again - - hair is coming out in handfuls and head starting to look a bit like Matt Lucas!! Wig trim tomorrow so at least I’ll have that sorted.

Fran so sorry to hear your OH troubles - I know its hard for the loved ones to watch us go thru this but sometimes they need a kick up the bum - reality check!! Wonder if its worth him seeing someone about the depression - or at least get out of the house for a bit perhaps with the kids - good luck - you do have a lot on your plate!

Wolsty, Anng, Gill, Esha, Knoxy and everyone else - you all sound in good form and getting on with stuff - long may it continue!

I’ve really got food on the brain, when I read kiwijans post which read “fringe” I read it as “fridge” !

Hope all those that have had chemo this week feel good and no se’s

Have a good night all
Xxx

Hi Ladies,

Debster, I cant keep out of the fridge, eating never stops. I have just eaten another great big bar of choc.

Fran, I am so sorry you are having such a hard time at the moment, its so hard when you have younger children and trying to cope with all this treatment as well. Oh sounds like he is giving you a bit of a hard time, its so difficult for everyone. Hope things start to get easier for you.

Hoping everyone else is feeling ok and wisihing you all minimal se’s.

Deb xxx

I agree with the “can’t keep out of the fridge”! Thought I might lose a few kilos due to no or minimal alcohol but food has taken over the calorie intake! Will we ever get a break!

Jan

Evening ladies
Been out for some nice treats for my chemo after reading
Everyone eating loads
Had a bad day went out for my treats . Looked in the
Mirrow when I got home where my fringe was a massive
Bald patch , so time for my hats etc

Morning ladies,

i think we should all embrace our desire to eat lots! I keep thinking that I need to keep my strength up although I’m not sure that chocolate is the best answer!

Lindyloo - thank you for mentioning nose hair. I woke up with a snuffle this morning and hadn’t made the connection until I read your post!

I went out in a headscarf for the first time last night. My hair doesn’t look too bad but it’s getting very fine and I have a very noticeable crown and parting. Am going out for lunch later so have made sure I have co-ordinated what I’m wearing with one of my scarves! The things we have to do!

Hope everyone has a good weekend. All the best to everyone having chemo next week - mine’s on Tuesday.

Take care!
Rachael xx

Oh Ladies, hope you,re all doing so much better than me,thought I was ok after 2nd lot on monday but I,m now so much worse than I was with number 1,couldnt get out of bed yesterday, just feel so sick and no energy, the taste in my mouth is just vile, doing everything that has been suggested,my mouth is so sore too, just want to feel a little bit normal, cant be arsed with anything or even anyone at the moment…and thats not me at all :o(…any more suggestions??I,ll try anything to feel better…hugslozxxxx

@ Loz

I saw on the hints and tips page that somebody used to partially freeze water/squash so that it was like a slushy (or blend some ice cubes and a little water or squash), really good for flushing the chemo out of your body if you can keep the fluids down and great for easing sore mouths. As for the taste, pineapple was mentioned, but until the soreness has gone away I wouldn’t recommend that. Also you can get a special mouthwash prescribed by your GP for the sores…ring your doc’s and get an urgent appointment, they should see you right away because of the chemo.

I hope that helps and you feel better soon,

xxx

Oh dear Loz - really feel for you. I’m on day 2 and feeling OK but am still apprehensive as to what tomorrow will bring - I had 4-5 rough days first time starting on day 3 but onc reckons this one will be easier - trying to be positive. What anti-sickness meds have you got - I’ve got Ondansetron and Mexa something but after last time I asked for something different and have also got Domperidone which seems better - might be worth ringing your support team and saying you are bad again? Don’t do anything if you don’t feel like it is the best advice. Lucozade, fat coke, and water, water, water if you can manage it. And a bit of fresh air if you can - even just a walk around the garden. I’ve got 2 Jack Russells staring me out at the moment so I’ll be walkin them soon - because OH decided he would play golf this arvo - can you believe it!!

Lots of hugs and chin up.

Hi Ladies,
well had 2nd juicing yesterday the Emmend seemed to work havent been sick yet fingers crossed it stays that way!!
Loz i had mouth sores and got gelclair oral mouth rinses from the chemo ward yesterday, they put a coating on your gums stop mouth ulcers /sores appearing, might be worth mentioning!
Hope everyone stays wellxx

Hi Loz sorry to hear you feel so poorly I felt really sick not actualy sick but kept having this nasty watery mouth that made me heave metal mouth could not drink anything as it was just like drinking liquid metal . I got a soft toothbrush and childrens tooth paiste and zero alcohol mouth wash done my teeth and then rubbed in Adult bonjella seemed to help, in the end I was just drinking with a straw which was better than having the water from a glass.it was really getting me down I managed to eat because I know I have to but did not enjoy anything.
I kept my sea band on it did seem to help. I also could not eat anything sweet bought cheese straws, chedders, and cashew nuts the salt also helps to clear your mouth. it lasted about 3 days then cleared up so I will cross my fingers for you.(Ginger Biscutes for sickness have one while in bed before you get up)lets hope for better days wishing you well. Linda

Still avoiding other half but something positive has happened he has found a job learning a trade hardly any money at 1st but we haven’t any at the moment so its something to build on. This bc has taken over our lives and I can’t stand him being at home looking after the kids and me . I know it will be hard but I have other people who can help me pick up and drop off on school run!!
I haven’t the energy to argue with him so I’ve been avoiding him my sis has picked me up an d am at my mums at the moment.
Also got work hanging over my head don’t want to go back to that stress!
Sorry for the moan I am doing well…
Love fran xx

Afternoon Ladies and thank your all for your lovely comments (really sorry should have wrote names down as memory defo gone)!

Well blood results came back yesterday re my PICC line, infection inside so had to pick anti-biotics up this morning - took one at 10.10am and by 11.30 I was in the back of an ambulance on the way to hospital - only took one table and after about 30 / 40 mins violently sick, diarohea and the most intense pain I have ever, ever experienced in my whole life in my lower stomach, couldn’t stop itching whole body turned bright red so yes an allergic reaction, first my op and now this! Going to Manchester Royal on Tuesday for allergy testing!! Home now and feel better, don’t look too gud but gona get bed as absoltely shattered!

Will be soooo glad when all this is over, just started to feel better as well, oh well 2nd lot for me on weds so will prob be rough again!
Still got all my hair which I’m very suprised at, day 16 for me today!!

Have a lovely weekend ladies and really hope you are all ok. Hugs. Jo XXXXX

@Knoxybabes - That’s really rubbish, you seem to be having a horrible time of it like Loz and a couple of others on here. I hope your allergic reaction has subsided and your feeling better. I’m having a PICC line fitted next Tuesday just before Chemo session 2, having read all your troubles with it, I’ll definitly be on to the nurses if it starts not feeling right! I still have my hair too, but still now i’m playing the waiting game for when it does start to go!

@Leeds39 - I’ve been sorry to read of your troubles with your OH, none of us need any more worries and stress than we’ve already been dealt! I hope things sort themselves out for you soon, do try to stay positive, it’s hard sometimes and a bit of a cliche but i’m sure it’s the right thing to be doing  I’ll be positive for you too  - I’m doing pretty well, thanks for asking, glad to be over my chest infection from last week and have suffered hardly any SE’s from the chemo unlike lots of lovely ladies on here. Pregnancy is going well, baby is fine…though need to get a PA to sort my appointments out which are all over the place, lol. 32 week scan next Tuesday, something nice to help take my mind off PICC and Chemo which all fall on the same day, lol. ‘Never rains but it pours!’ - Special hugs to you too!

Special hugs to each and everyone of you

Hi Loz
Another sore mouth tip is to cut up papaya and let it slowly dissolve in your mouth, apparently the enzymes are good? I’m still using my aloe Vera toothpaste which I think is brilliant.
Sorry you’re poorly and hello and lots of love to everyone.
G xx

Hi Lorjema,

Yes I do appear to have had quite a few problems with my PICC line but they are loathed to take it out but I do understand why. It’s really hard for them to find my veins as my hands are still swollen from when I had my op and now this today there’s no way they are gona try it! My only other option is a Hickman line and I really don’t fancy that so hopefully they will get the PICC line sorted. The hospital have sent me home this aft with another 4 boxes of tablets and when I have read the labels I have to take 17 tables every day for the next 5 days…really gonna struggle.

Anyway on a lighter note I feel much better now I have had an hours sleep, organised a few weeks ago for some friends to come over tonight so told hubby he has to go out and I really don’t want to cancel so am really looking forward to them coming, few glasses of wine and a good old catch up will do me the world of good!!

Have a lovely evening and weekend. Take care. Jo. XX
