Oh - it makes me feel better that you are the same Clare! and we both had the dry coldcap so maybe it still worked!! ![]()
Maybe the cold cap worked but that doesnât explain no hair loss from the LG!! I certainly didnât have cold pants!! ![]()
LMAO! no me either - good point!! i wonder if there are people who are just less affected on the hairloss point or if it just hasnât happened yet? I am sure there will be thinning etc eventually but maybe some people it takes more treatments etc? Again - iâll be bakd tomorrow i am sure but keeping fingers crossed at the moment!!
I wonder if the different treatments mean hair loss at different times. I am sure itâs going to happen, at the very least some thinning.
Goosey and Clare83 I am day 11 and used cold cap on first treatment
no hair loss yet BC nurse said it may start from day 14. No other hair has dissapeared yet. I am waiting to wake up with furry caterpillars looking at me on my pillow. I hate plucking my eyebrows. I have not gone and bought a wig yet not sure when to do this.
I chuckled at the cold pants comment that made me smile.
2nd treatment 7th feb in a way I wish it would hurry up so I can get back to normal or near as.
Best wishes to everyone have good weekends
xx

Pmsl @ tits up - I didnât think what I was saying!
Yeah - relationship shit and Iâm really down
heâs said some really not nice things to me and itâs totally knocked me for six , I am an emotional wreck and the hair loss has just been the icing on the cake for me today.
Sorry to whinge- I feel so lonely xxx

Hi ladies, firstly wineoclock had a few of those days. You no weâre all here for you, big hug to you hun. You Will come out of this a stronger. Iâm sorry to hear about troubles with OH canât be easy. Anytime you need a whinge weâre all ears.
Marina i got laine from salon maeir in Manchester. Iâm just not sure bout it tho seems so strange. Hoping i wont need it but scalp is well itchy. Glad your loâs are better nothing worse wen they ill. Btw delay in reply apologies for that!my skin is dry anyway but has been worse since juicing.
Tracey well done you for taking plunge how do you feel?
Denise so good to hear youâre on the road to recovery.
Hi Maryc
jumping in here hope you dont mind. just read your post and you mentioned dry skin. I had that on chemo and tried lots of different creams until i asked in boots and they recommended neutrogena concentrated hand cream. It is brill (if you can use it dont know if you have allergies). It is like lard but you onlu use a small amount and it lasts for ages.I got 50ml after 2nd chemo in june and i still have some in the tube.
good lick with your treatment

Oh wineoclock - men can be such d*cks sometimes! Even my lovely OH says the stupidest unmeaningly unkind things sometimes! It doesnât help that i can be so emotional at the moment!
Hope you get things sorted!
Big hugs!!
Marina xx
maj Thank you for that much appreciated. I do use neutrogena hand cream and have some so Will give it a go. Has anyone had any nail discolouration? Cut my toe nails and they were hideous! Finger nails are ok just toe nails that seem to have changed.
Wineoclock i agree with Marina men Will be men. Explained to my son this evening i may lose my hair so got this wig. Tried it on and he loved it OH said it was âniceâ but look on face said it all. Felt so upset was nearly in tears but fought them! I think weâre abit hyper sensitive at min! Hope things get better for you chic. X
hi ladies,
Another tip re nails. Try to keep them short use dark polish and wear gloves when hands are in water. My toe nails got yucky through chemo fingers were fine thought i got away with it and when chemo stopped they all lifted. not much you can do about it as far as i know. If you keep them short you dont catch them because they can be very tender.

ps think with men because they dont understand what we are going through they dont know how to deal with it. maby a look on here might let them see the light!
Thanks maj Will try that. Finger nails grow like wild fire been meaning to cut them all week. Have the gloves under sink just need to pull them out! How terrible am i!
I shouldnât complain about my OH really because he is brilliant in every way just doesnât no how to deal with this hence donât discuss it at all. Not his fault but Hey ho x x Thanks for all your tips maj. How are you doing? X
Ohâs really try hard. Mine was brill when he understood more. I showed him some posts here and it really helped him. We are lucky to have someone to lean on. some women on here dont.
He will get better they usually do.
I am doing ok my treatment finished in nov so trying to get back to somewhere near where i was before dx. I feel so much for all of you starting out because it is scary the unknown nut you will get through. You will have lots of support on here.
My advice would be " Be gentle with yourself, you need time to heal"

Bloody woke up at 5:30 today - why, I ask you? Why?
WineoClock, sorry to hear you are down. It is good to get things of your chest (pun fully intended) and what better place than here? All my friends and family are really understanding and empathic but they canât possibly understand what its like to go through this. But we do.
At least I no longer have to worry about loosing my hair - see? I am trying to be positive! Still do a double take every time I see my bald self in the mirrorâŚ
Dawnrise, somehow I got it into my head that you live on a boat. The boaty thing sounds exciting! I would love to thrall (is that something you actually do on water?) the seas on a boat as long as I donât have to do any physical work, there was a fridge for my wine and a decent toilet.
Almost forgot! Scotianne, what is this Hanuka honey NZ vodka?
Early riser here too! My stinking head cold probably to blame!!
SOC - you look amazing with your baldy head! I hope my baldy head is as nice as yours! ![]()
My LG has finally started but not head yet - i was really excited about LG (sadly!) - i think i was worried maybe the chemo wasnât working right - silly i know! - but such a relief!
In a way i hope my hair just goes so i can foget about it - otherwise this next 5 treatments i will always be waiting to see if more goes!
Anyway - having a lovely time off work - so many friends are being so wonderful! Today taking LOâs to Snow white pantomime! Saw first panto before xmas (not really a thing in Canada!) and LOVED it so decided would take loâs to theatre more - really appreciate how BC has made me take more risks - ie eating things i normally wouldnât have tried etc - and how its made me make the most of every day!
Hope everyone is feeling well! (esp you WOC!)
Marina xx
Goosey, where are you from in Canada? I lived in Montreal for 15 years âŚ
Thanks for the comments about my baldy head - I am expecting everyone to tell me what a wonderfully lovely shaped head I have and also how brave I am. ![]()
Seriously, as traumatic as it was to start loosing my hair (especially when it came out in big chunks!) it was liberating to shave it off. But, if you used the cold cap I wouldnât - just wait. It might thin out but you wonât loose it all.
Morning
I too was awake at silly oâclock this morning!
Wow soc, you are such a brave lady showing us your shaved head x
Thankyou for all your kind words everyone, I really appreciate it xx
WOC, youâve forgot to say what a lovely shape my head is! I am hurtâŚ!
Hope you are feeling better in yourself!
Girlies, if I canât show my bald head here, I donât know where I would be able toâŚ
