awww thank you ladies. Lovely to hear back from you. Had a few family problems, so been feeling very very down, and then finding out I was neutrophenic yesterday really was the icing on the cake, as I was supposed to be going out with friends last night to a halloween do, but was told by hospital was far too risky in crowds because of infection.
Hope you are both doing ok.
There seems to be pages and pages of posts, so will try and catch up when I feel less tired. I had my Neulasta injection an hour ago and I am feeling very very drugged up and sleepy now, not sure if thats a side effect or not.

Hi everyone and welcome back Jules and Jay.
Jules, had my Neulasta today and have been very sleepy, hoping it knocks out the Dex tonight to let me sleep. So sorry that things have been rough family wise, never a good time for unhappy families but even worse when you are feeling ill stressed already.
I do quite like my wig and wear it but my OH looks like neanderthal man in it, not good look.
Night everyone Julia xxx
Hi Gorgeous Gals
Its 3.00 am, cant sleep, so thought Id have a look see how everyone is.
GOOD NEWS…we have just had 7 puppies. We were expecting 2 or 3, so really happy. Makes me think of The Circle of Life song from the Lion King…did anyone else cry their eyes out in that movies, or is it just me?
Sue…thanks for the hugs….appreciate every single one of them
Annie…you made me laugh out loud…tell your OH I love him already !!! Got your DVD email…you are an ANGEL !!! Also having a giggle thinking about your cats playing with your wig. Havent even got my wig yet, and already don’t think Ill ever wear it.
Julia…I am amazed that you still have the energy to muck out stables. GOOD ON YOU !!! And I think maybe I like the sound of a Neanderthal Man……???
HJV…so glad you are having a good week. Lets keep fingers crossed it stays like that.
Jay…SO glad to hear from you….we all missed you loads.
Lyn…didn’t even realize there would be bone pain with the Tax…thanks for the tip…will stock up on painkillers as well
Jules……SO pleased you are back with us. This is EXACTLY the place to share all the worries and stress…don’t think about depressing us…that’s what we are here for. It was more depressing not hearing from you.
Fi…also giggling about your girlie night out, sharing the WIG. Id love to know what it actually looks like !
Just want to say thanks to everyone for the hugs and support…you make it so much easier.
Take care, and have a Super Sunday

Morning Girls…
Poxy extra hour, the night is long enough as it is!!!..
Jules sorry you didnt make it to the Halloween party, just not worth the risk is it…
I also second what Lil says, if you cant moan about how you feel on here then where can you, keep in touch, I cant believe you are on your fifth dose, how many have you got to have, I cant remember?..
Lil, How lovely 7 puppies, thats such good news, they will keep you busy i’m sure…
Have you thought anymore about staying in South Africa, have you got any support there?..
Nicola, hope you are ok too…
Have a good Sunday everyone…

Hi ladies,
I thought I would change my photo to a wig wearing one. Maybe we could all change to a pic of us in our head wear of choice?
I have had a good weekend so far, I would go as far as saying I felt normal again! Lovely walk with my mum around Wakehurst place (a local national trust garden) on Friday, the colours of the trees were amazing. Pub lunch and country walk yesterday then a meal at my dad’s. Grand prix today then maybe a roast. I am making the most of it before tax on Wednesday.
Lil, sorry to hear about your dogs but very pleased to hear about the puppies. I cry every time at the lion king, it is at cinema here in 3d at the moment. I would love to go and see it but don’t want to boo my eyes out in public!
Jules, sorry you missed your party. I am missing a gig at the O2 tonight for the same reading, rubbish isn’t it. We will have to make up for all the things we miss when this is over.
Hope everyone else is feeling ok.
Kate xx
Hi Kate…
You look great, is your wig similar to your own hair or did you go for something completely different?..
So glad you are having a good weekend, my so went to Wakehurst place with the school a few months back…
Enjy your roast and the Grand Prix…

Hi Everyone
Hope you’re all doing ok. I can’t read the posts, suffering from really bad vertigo and can’t focus on a screen for more than about a minute without wanting to throw up. Very inconvenient! Don’t know what anyone’s up to and it’s a bit lonely.
Hopefully I can get something to sort this out before my next dose.
Take care all.
Nicola X
Hey ladies, just sneaking back to see how you’re all doing - all of you are at least half-way now whoop whoop, that’s brilliant!
A few of you are dreadign Tax, just to say I was one of the ones who found it easier than FEC, and I got off pretty lightly with that. To confirm the message you were sent, I had no energy loss and was lucky not to get much bone pain from the neulasta jabs. Pain control for the bone pain varies from person to person, I got away with 1 200mg ibuprofen every three hours - but I learned the hard way in the first cycle as I took 2 every four hours and ran out of pills before I ran out of day so spent one evening with every bone in my body aching!!! (Did you know skulls or sternums could ache? I didn’t!)
Not sure if you’ve been told the nail care stuff… I was told to use dark nail varnish on all nails all the time as Tax kn*ckers nails big time. For me it worked - I kept all my nails though they got very yukky, with beau lines (misnomer of the millenium! - horrid ridges across the nails) thick and splitting. Towards the end layers seemed to peel off. it’s taken a full year for my big toe nails to grow through, but now they’re fine! Picture the preacher with nail varnish chosen to match her preaching suit!!!
Also peripheral neuropathy aka dropsy can happen - I have one finger and one thumb that are still a bit that way but nothing too terrible.
Anyways, you are all doing brilliantly, supporting and encouraging one another and by the end of the year it’ll all be done (unless you are on herceptin, sorry)… YEAH!
Take care and you know where I am if you ever need a rant.
<<<hugs></hugs>
Hi all,
Jay, my wig is the same colour as my hair but shorter. My hair was longer than shoulder length before but I had it cut the same as my wig about a month before it fell out. It gave me time to get used to the length. I have got another wig being delivered this week with a fringe, in case I lose my eyebrows on tax!
Nicola, so sorry to hear you are suffering. I hope there is something the Dr can give you to help the vertigo, it must be horrible for you. You should try to get someone to read out the posts on here so you can keep up to date!
Revcat, thank you for your advice. I have just had my nails done in a dark brown gel nail varnish that is supposed to last for 2 weeks. I hope it helps to save them. I have had to have the neulasta jabs anyway on fec and the bone pain only lasted a couple of days so I am hoping it will be the same on tax. It is always nice to hear good things about tax, thank you.
Right, I am off for my blood test now to see if tax will commence on Wednesday. Have a good day everyone.
Kate xx
Hi Girls,
Guess who’s been admitted to hospital? I had a gum infection which I went to see the GP about it, had a blood test & was told to see my dentist. Made an appointment but in the meantime, I called the chemo suite who got me to come in. My newts(can’t spell it) are rock bottom so they kept me in!!
Was so looking forward to frightening the kids tonight with my bald head!! :))
Hope everyone is ok & good luck to all those having treatment this week
Big hugs
Axx

Jay…not decided about SA yet…don’t have any family in the area, so would have to camp at a backpackers, or impose on a friend,…,neither seems very attractive at the mo. Will speak to my Onc and get her opinion as well. How you feeling???
Kate…Lion King in 3D….I would be finished !!! Am I allowed to say something without really p****g you off……??? I think you look so super sexy without the wig. There, said it….dont mind if you send me lots of cyber curses. Loads of luck for the Wed Tax. Will be thinking of you.

Haha, thanks Lil, of course I am not offended, it is a compliment (i think!!!). I fit in a bit better in Waitrose with the wig on though!!
Sue, I hope you feel after FEC 3 - does that mean you are half way?
Jay and anyone else having treatment this week, good luck.
My bloods were just about good enough (Neuts were 1.07) so TAX 1 will commence tomorrow. I am pleased it isn’t going to be delayed but nervous about the new SEs. I have had to take 8, yes 8, steroids today in prep for tomorrow so have had a super busy day as I have been buzzing!! Let’s hope I can sleep tonight.
Have a good evening all.
Kate xx

catch up soon love and hugs to all
Ginge xx
Morning Girls…
I have the usual nausea, and fuzzy head after FEC 3, but not too bad at the moment, they nearly didnt go ahead as white blood count was too low, re did blood test and they had come up enough to go ahead, didnt get home until gone 7…
Sue, hope your SEs are tiny…
Lil, your right neither of your choices are great, you need some support around you, its a difficult decision for you to make, I hope having a chat with your onc can help, When will that be?..
Kate, lots of good luck hug for today, glad your bloods were ok…
Ginge, Good to have you back,I have my 5th on the 13th of dec, so not too far behind you, they said at the hospital yesterday that you have a 4 week break between Chemo and Rads, i guess it might vary at other hospitals…
Girls can be so so bitchy, especially at 14/15, your right you dont get that with boys, I tried not to get too involved, as before you know it they are friends again! hope they sort it out soon…
Annie, how are you doing?..
Rev cat, always good to hear from you…
Jules, Nicola, Fi, and anyone I have forgotten, hope you are all ok…
Take care All…
