Well my first round today went smoothly. Not sure what I was expecting but all was ok. Just starting to feel a bit queasy now crossing my fingers it doesn’t get any worse.
Icklv I’m sorry to hear your results weren’t what you were hoping but keep up with the positive thoughts. You are not alone and we all are thinking positive thoughts for you too!

Hello All,
well what a week, got a phone call monday pm from gp to say I had infection in my mx site, they knew this because following my visit to a&e the previous week, they had taken a sample that had come back positive, went to gp for antibiotics, presented myself for chemo on tuesday and the oncologist decided to delay for a week, and sent me to see my breast surgeon, was then admited to hospital for IV antibiotics, have just been released today with oral antibiotics, they would not use the new portacath I have fitted, so have given me IV through my poor veins in my arm, which is now swollen and painful. so hoping to get better over the weekend ready for tuesday. Quite disappointed as the delay means I will be up for chemo on the 24th Dec.
Feeling happy to be home though.

Sounds like you’ve had a long weeks Suzzie, not good!! Getting an infection is always a worry especially if at mx site. Is still an open wound or all healed?
I can totally see why you’d be miffed ( would use stronger but would be bleeped) that they couldn’t use portacath. Did they tell you why? That’s the whole point if having these lines fitted surely!!!
Hopefully the tablets they’ve given you are doing the trick & no more delays next week. It is a bummer for the change in date I know, Barbarella & I will both be up on 23rd dec & think blue topaz & a few others are due on 24th as well. Merry Christmas!! (Well hopefully anyway). Take it easy over the weekend, and fingers crossed all goes to plan for you on Tues xx
Hi ladies, well first dunking went well. Went home and sofa surfed for most of the day apart from whe OH took me B and Q power tool shopping! Then we nipped in to m and s for lovely food. Managed to eat normally all day without being sick. Only SEs so far is a slight hangover feeling with a wuzzy head.
Been awake since 3.30 this morning but feel 100% like me, long may it stay this way. Xx

Thank you for your good wishes, being home and in my own bed is the best medicine I could have asked for, been asleep for about 12 hours, much needed as couldn’t sleep at the hospital.
The surgery site is healed but had on going problems with a seroma, surgeon felt that I probably had a low grade tissue infection from surgery time 12 weeks ago, but because of the chemo reducing my imune system it flared up last week and got a hold, looked like cellulitus but very hot and inflamed.
Glad im not alone for stepping up to the bar at christmas but also sorry to hear that others will be joining me.
Don’t know about others but hair fallen out all over the place an I mean all over the place! except for lower leg hair growing like wildfire needing to still shave, has anyone else got this bizarre problem? also was told periods would stop no such luck! the only side effects I was looking forward too.
Glad to see others are having a easier time, gives me hope for my next one, they say we are all different that seems right for sure.

You, me and Barbs then by the sound if it. So far at least, let’s hope things don’t change too much as we’ve worked out that all being well, no delays etc, will be looking to get finished with rads around Valentines day. Got to have something to look forward to xx

If all cycle dates are kept my last one will be Christmas Eve… Yay Merry Fecking Christmas! This means low immune New Years Eve… What a bloomin wash out.
