Hi, just back from chemo! Feeling fine, all dosed up on anti sickness meds, but I know it’s early yet, so we will see. The staff were great, made the whole thing as easy and fun(?) as possible. It was an extra long session, because I had the cold cap. The first 10 minutes were uncomfortable and cold, but after that you forget about it. I kept wondering if it was working properly because it was just not bad at all. Obviously only time will tell if it works, and the cap didn’t seem to cover round my ears very well, but I would say to anyone considering it, give it a go and get through the initial cold bit. I took paracetamol before I went, as that was suggested on the forum.
I hope Avonlady is ok and will post soon and I hope today’s session went well for Tracey. Good luck to those up tomorrow.
Re the query about having a line fitted, my onc just said I would have a portacath fitted, wasn’t really any discussion about it, but I presume as I’m having Herceptin for a year, it saves finding good veins each time.
