Lots f running round today, getting cakes for fifty, for new colleague’s welcome service; meeting with Chief Exec, organising and leading said service, seeing patients… Someone’s now pulled, the plug out (energy-wise) and I’m on the cream crackekred bench… Is there a Sleeper car on this train?
Just been see friend of friend in this village in Fife - she INSISTED we have a glass or two, and now we are on Cooking with the Kids to make cakes for the Sunday School coffee morning - hic!
Snotty Dog now less snotty but worn out due to running round with small persons all day.
night night all

Whoop! Whoop! Just won a swivelly office chair from Mark Futon-Ebay’s establishment. I only started the bidding so the lady got a decent price for it instead of the usual greedy b******s all trying to bid in the last few seconds, which is what usually happens when I sell something. I got it for £11.50. If it’s what she says it is, that’s a bargain! (and if not, it’s cash on collection, so I just won’t pay.Win. Win!
Absolutely cream kna**ered this morning. 2 bad nights on the trot after a long exhausting week. (It is SO tiring being NICE all day??!!) Don’t think I’ll be doing much today other than finishing knitting an elephant and possibly fetching the chair (from about 6 miles away). Ooh and there’s gymnastics on tele too - found it by accident last night, on BBC3 - love watching people do things I’d never be able to do in a million years. (Though they make it looks so d**n easy that I’m always suprised by how hard it is to just get off the sofa! :p)
Hope you all have a worry & illness-free weekend. x
PS our posts crossed: FAB news Kay! :D
Yahoo be dooby/booby Kay fab news:smileyhappy:!!
You are truly having a smashing time, your home will be lovely and hopefully finished soon!!
Woo hoo JCJ I love Martin futon-ebay, such fantastical bargains to be had, hope you like your new chair! Afraid to say that I am one of those last second buyers…
Good millie is getting better, grumpy wine tasting, cake baking and looking after children, have fun:smileyhappy:!
Jane it’s all a whirlwind for you at the moment, does the big 60 give you more energy???:smileywink:!
Let us know what happens with the new bedding RevCat, be fantastic if it works!
Saw YD off on train, well bus cause there are no trains between here and Glasgow at the weekends, she was working this morning and raising money for BC, she had to wear a pink bra over her clothes, she wasn’t too happy at the thought but she seemed to be fine about it all when I saw her and they raised quite a bit:smileyhappy:!
Forgot to say she loves her bracelet RevCat, and sends you a big thank you:smileyhappy:!
3rd tab this morning and was very “foggy brain” but diminshed by afternoon thank goodness, seemed as though I was in slooooooooooow motion, if they work I will be such a happy bunny!
Just munched a white choc and cranberry tiffin, so disgustingly sickening…big pile left in shed yum yum xx
Ha ha ha I don’t know who MARTIN is??? Brainwork a bit dubious at the moment, meant to be Mark:smileyvery-happy: May be a few blips over the next while:smileyvery-happy:!
Mark was a futon collector, he’s JCJ’s friend xx
Woo hoo Kay, great news.
The chat about Belvia bras recently has made me realise that mine are uncomfortable and due to repeated washing and wearing are really only fit for the rag bag. Went online this am to “shop around” and ended up looking at crop tops with Secret support. An awful lot of unsuitable and far too expensive ones later I found one on Asda website that looked good and was only £6. I decided to drive to Asda for further research. Tried them on and I have bought two and can honestly say that they are the most comfortable that I have worn since WLE. Called a Comfort bra if anyone wishes to investigate.
On the way there I passed nasty accident, navy blue car with badly smashed up front. Paramedics were there and I drove past thinking that the police should be there as the traffic was a nightmare with everyone trying to get round and a tailback on the accident side for at least a mile.
Two miles further down the road was ANOTHER even nastier accident. Two badly smashed up cars, one on its roof. Two ambulances, three police cars and three fire engines were at this one. As we all drove on into town I noted that everyone ,including me ,was driving a lot slower. A salutary lesson to everyone passing.
Called into daughters on the way home but she was out. I have since had a phone call from her and as I was at her house finding out she wasn’t in, she was at my house finding out I wasn’t in!! We’ve decided I’ll go to hers tomorrow afternoon.
Off now for a mugatea and some more cross stitching. I estimate that if I spend a couple of hours a night on it, it MIGHT be finished by this time next year:smileytongue:.
Great minds think alike, FF? I can just imagine you and daughter standing puzzled on each other’s doorsteps. :-)
Kay, Mark Futon-Ebay came into existence when I sold a sofa bed on that well known auction site. The buyer (NOT Mark, - or Martin! but similar) gave me his phone number so we could arrange collection. I put the number in my phone under the name Mark - Futon-Ebay so I would remember who it was. That made me smile because we were having one of our daft Benchland dramas involving poshly named people and I thought he’d fit in well, so the name stuck. So don’t worry, it’s not you losing your grip, but me!
How awful FF, seeing the accidents leaves you with such a horrible feeling.
Funny that your daughter and you were on each others doorsteps, as someone has already said great minds…have a lovely day today. Excellent about the bras, have found a huge difference with comfiness, they maybe the ones grumpy was talking about.
Your first egg CH how exciting, first of many:smileyhappy:!
Just away to start tidying up, not so foggy brained this morning:smileyhappy:, afterwards have a good book and some things taped so lazy day may even go to chippie for tea, so onto the “lazy, hazy day” bench for me, still have tiffins left so can share with anyone who wants to eat digustingly sweet things…am in carriage 2 xx
Elephant finished. See new avatar!
I have such a lot to do today, including taking my own advice and going for a walk in the lovely sunshine, but I seem to be welded to the CBA bench! I’ve only just got dressed!
Whenever I log in to Benchland I land up on page 348 and have to leap into the transmat beam in the Lost Plottery Shed to get back to page 1!!
Have had the most superly duperly weekend churchy wise - and am now on the cream-crackered flushing -for -Europe bench. Have decided that the snazzy M&S (other shops blah di blah) sheets do stay coooler than my other ones which is as well as I am my own central heating boiler these days!!
Have discovered a new weight loss plan - eat pizza and doughnuts - lost a pound this weekend and ate nothing healthy at all! What is THAT all about? Back to proper food today - after I ate the last doughnut for breakfast!!
Best to all still going through yucky treatment stuff or awaiting results - am need ign to research tickets and travel insurance for NZ (currently have EU only policy which excludes BC, but not going to far side of the planet without full cover)
just a quickie have had to get emergency doc to my home (first time ever), back went into spasm (happened before many times) but this time couldn’t walk at all so ED came and saved the day. Can move but very tenderly, way to have some toast then off to bed, tabs will knock me out, thank goodness for drugs xx
yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk! My back does the spasm thing sometimes but thankfully soon passes. Hope you feel better soon Katy. Lots of Benchie hugs, goodies and glitterberry juice headed your way x
OH NOES Katy! Did you do yourself a mischief tripping over your knee highs? Is the weight of all that bling on your tiara playing havoc with your back muscles? Sorry, probably shouldn’t make you laugh, because I know that’s agony when you have back pain. Seriously, I hope the painkillers do their thing and you feel better soon. Hugs.
RevCat - you’ll need an extra big suitcase for your trip to NZ - to smuggle me in! I know envy is a sin but… !
Oh no, Katy, how awful. My back sometimes does the same and stops me completely in my tracks. Fortunately it’s always been very brief but the first time I wondered what on earth had happened when I suddenly had pain and couldn’t move. I hope the drugs do their job and that you soon recover.
Revcat, you are going to need several trunks as I was thinking of stowing away in your luggage as well. Lucky you, NZ is a place I have always fancied going to visit.
I’ve had a very quiet day today. Apart from going to school, the greatest excitement I’ve had is putting petrol in the car:smileytongue: Oh, annd the postman brought me a bill!! I really know how to live it up…
Spent the day in charge of 2 active small bairns and one elderly dog - exhausted!!!
Third glass, or is it fourth, being consumed…
Grumpy
Three suitcases RevCat… I’m coming tooz…
Ouchy ouch. Back in spasm is no fun…hope medication hits the spot
We’re now on holiday - a friends house in Southwold…fish 'n chips by the sea… Beer on the pier listening to the waves break… Feet up reading this evening… Very chilled… Why are my fingers swollen as well as arm tonight then? No logic. Got letter from physio today to phone for appt…we’ll see how far away it is tomorrow…
Have a good night all… Wifi is an added bonus to the houses since last we came
Given how good we all are at flushing, maybe we should all complete this BCC survey (i just did!) forum.breastcancercare.org.uk/t5/Hormone-therapy/Do-you-have-hot-flushes/m-p/781382#U781382
Gynae update…
I was told by the gynae Dr if I hadn’t heard after three weeks to phone them - so I did.
Overall the news is good, but it raises questions for me.
The two polyps were benign so that is good news. However they were ‘consistent with Tamoxifen induced effects’ which I think means some form of conversation needs to be had
The endometrial sample was ‘insufficient’ which presumably means it will need to be repeated
I am due to see my BCN next week about my lymphoedema, so I will raise this with her then. I do not want to stop taking Tamoxifen but I do want someone to do something about this recurrent side effect.
RevCat, I think it was you that said Zoladex was not recommended to you “because it would make you miserable”. I’ve not found that, and apart from the hot flushes and broken nails (the latter successfully sorted by taking calcium), I’m actually GLAD I was prescribed Zoladex. No more heavy periods (or any at all) or PMT! :-)
Maybe it could be an option for you? I was told after 2 years on Z, I should be menopausal and can switch to an AI, which have less long-term health risks. Just a thought. I’m sure your onc/doc will have other suggestions.
Long day at work today. Got a lot done, but kna**ered now. Doesn’t help that everyone is so overworked and p***ed off!
I’ve had a delivery of BCC raffle tickets! Whoop! Prize is £5000. Whoop! Having that! Not that I ever win anything!
Hi JCJ it was indeed me who was told that. My surgeon said the alternative to Tamoxifen is AIs and Zoladex (chemo broke my ovaries but i’m technically still pre-menopausal). This is one of the options i would like to discuss with them - or at least regular monitoring. We shall see.
Hope everyone is doing fine.
