Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

Am going to try really hard to stop dropping things…nearly dropped two plates this morning grrrrrrrrrrr!

Am out to lunch tomorrow, yum yum!

Late birthday get together:smileyhappy:! Spent all my birthday pennies on a new jacket, top and dress, very pleased:smileyhappy:!

YD is off to have her hair dyed, first time ever, she’s keeping it almost the same colour but will be a graduated blonde at the bottom, ED has done similar but she has gone red whilst me I’m still too scared to do anything! Maybe one day???

Another BC lady I was chatting to was telling me about a huge lump appearing out of nowhere, she was petrified, after investigation it’s benign, so happy for her! xx

I’ve stolen some of the spongy playground stuff from under the bunjy ropes and installed a butter fingers bench on top of it. (mmmmm! Butter! - STOP IT!!) AKA the clumsy a**e bench, or CAB - not to be confused with CBA bench! :stuck_out_tongue: All plates, boxes of chocolate, wine glasses etc will bounce undamaged and unspilt back into your hand, but just in case this fails, there is an automatic vacuuming facility to clear up any mess without you having to get off the bench…oh now *I* am confusing it with CBA bench??

Woo hoo bouncing around and dropping stuff all over the place quite happily:smileyhappy:!!

Just about to pop over to the “grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr” bench washing machine decided to stop working last night, hate being without:smileysad:, man coming to have a look tomorrow, sooooooooo hoping it’s fixable!

Had a lovely lunch, yum yum, chicken lasagne and salad, something creamy in a glass and fresh fruit salad:smileyhappy:!

YD’s hair looks fab!

Have incredible itchy ankle, no bite that I can see what is it?? :smileyfrustrated:!

JCJ is it tomorrow that you get your results? Big hugs coming your way xx

Thanks for the bouncy surface JCJ.  Unfortunately it didn’t arrive in time to save my favourite mug this morning ( is this dropping stuff contagious?).  Tea just won’t be the same for a while:smileysad:

School has gone eclipse mad this last two days, learning what they are etc., and making pinhole cameras ready for a trip to a farmer’s field tomorrow for a good view.  It’s only dawned on me tonight that this will be the first eclipse the children have ever seen.  So quite an event for them.  Must admit I’m looking forward to it myself, I love the “eerieness” of it getting dark when it should be light.  It’s no wonder the ancients were so scared by it and thought their gods had deserted them!  And… as a wonderful side effect…it puts Brian Cox on television explaining it and I love watching him although half of what he says goes straight over my head.:smileytongue:

New phone is up and running, has several features that are an improvement on previous one so that is good but is bigger and heavier than last one so it feels strange. Used it today to renew car and house insurance so feeling several hundred pounds poorer tonight and the gas/electric bill is due any day.  I hate March… it’s the most expensive month of the year!

Next Thursday for results, Katy, so a little while to go yet!  Still no mammo letter - tomorrow, it’ll be 2 weeks! So much for “within 10 days”??!! Putting more toys around the Waiting Bench.

My sister has a new start date for Chemo - 30th March, and EB started harvesting process today, as planned. Too complicated to rearrange that part so they will freeze his cells until M has had her 12 days of chemo. We’re all crossing everything that there’ll be no more delays.

Our school is going eclipse mad too. Everyone is going out to watch it (with pin hole projectors - you should see the pages and pages of H&S guidelines we’ve all been issued with!!) I had to point out that it would actually be impossible to be blinded by the sun, whilst standing on the playground, at that time in the morning, because the school building will be in the way!!  Not sure how we’re going to get 140 children + parents + staff onto the small staff carpark at the front of the school! Almost hoping it will be cloudy!

Contagious dropping of things is closely related to tottering instead of walking, falling over when shoving feet into shoes, missing steps, and kneeling over when bending down to pick stuff up off the floor. And no, it’s NOT related to glitterberry juice consumption, apparently it’s called positional vertigo----and I seem to have got it bad. The village probably thinks I’m under the influence half the time…

Grumpy and dizzy…

On the “happy bunny” bench washing machine doing it’s job it was either a blip where machine froze or will need a new board (electrics) really hoping it was a blip!!

Oh dear JCJ thought it was this week:smileyembarrassed:, just want it over for you!

Indeed, dropping does seem to be contagious, thank goodness doesn’t make me feel so bad haha!

Will your vertigo go away, grumpy?

Beautiful sunny morning, had the eclipse now it’s really dull?? What’s that all about?

Trip into town later for some odds and ends, away to find the “CBA” bench with a muggatea xx

Mammo letter here at long ******* last! NORMAL!! whoopee! TFFT!

Now “just” the MRI results to wait for. This time next week…

One of the parents from school was on the playground with us watching the eclipse (via pin hole devices, obviously - have to observe the H&S!!) she came up to me and asked if I’d lost weight. I was telling her about the enforced low fat diet and gallstone. Another mum joined us and said “I thought you’d lost a lot of weight. You look really good!” Then she backpedaled so fast she nearly came off her metaphorical bike and said: “Not that you didn’t look lovely before”. He he he. Made me smile. I was tempted to ask if she’d like a side order with the foot! :stuck_out_tongue:

YAY!!!  Wonderful mammo result JCJ.  Hope MRI is the same.  Laughed at your story of the mum in the playground.  We won’t recognise you at MMU3 at this rate.  Anyone thought about MMU3 yet or are we all waiting for JCJ’s results?

Eclipse was a total non event here.  I was so disappointed:smileysad: Thick cloud and fog, such a grey miserable morning that even the change in daylight was hardly noticeable.  Feel sorry for the children at school, they must have wondered what all the fuss was about.

Grumpy - I’ve had positional vertigo (or something very similar) slightly and it’s awful.  I really feel for you if you’ve got it badly. I was lucky and it got better quite quickly.  The Epley Manoeuvre is supposed to be a cure for this, has your Dr. suggested this?

Dinner ready now and just 2 hours to Brian Cox.  What more could a girl want?

Woo hoo JCJ:smileyhappy:!!

Though we DO have a problem with you being NORMAL???:smileylol:!

One more to go.

MMU3 yep we need JCJ to be even more normal!

Ali, have a super, duper time with your son.

Am on the “grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr” bench again machine stopped working after one wash so it is the circuit board thingy, won’t know till Mon if it’s feasible to repair or more or less cheaper to get a new one…

Woke up really early this morning and have sat on the “CBA” bench only getting up to have a muggatea or two or three…need to get moving soon, somebody push me please xx

I’m on the kn***ered bench with my feet on the I Hate Shopping footstool. Traipsed all round town looking for work trousers as nothing fits anymore. It’s official. I have dropped a size! But of course, everything I liked was available in every size/ length combination including 20 L (that wouldn’t have been the case when I needed a 20!!) but not an 18 L! Grrrr Managed to replace my PE trousers with a size 16 pair!! Amazing! Not owned anything that size for over 40 years! They are very stretchy though! :stuck_out_tongue: My current PE trousers are extremely dangerous, as they have no visible means of support: keep slipping down - and pulling my “underthings” with them. Not advisable in front of the children?! :)

Now I’m going online to see if I can buy longer versions of the trousers I tried on in D***** hams that were too short!

Hope you were successful buying new trousers JCJ, those poor kiddies…

Not happy HAND washing, dreary, dreary me, had my sleeves and Lynn sleeve rolled up and thought my arm was going to explode so note to myself never, ever do that again. What a nitwit. xx

I have a new party trick! I inadvertently did a passable impression of a unicorn in the classroom today. I had to correct something the teacher had done on the board in front of another teacher who was observing the lesson. I hate correcting teachers at the best of times, never mind during an observation, so I was embarrassed. I ducked my head down and accidentally head-butted the pencil pot in front of me. I jerked my head up and came up wearing a pencil jabbed into my forehead!! It didn’t really hurt but the kids were horrified and kept asking if I was OK. One said I looked like a unicorn! When I checked in the mirror, at break, I realises it had actually drawn blood! Looked way more dramatic than it actually was. Mrs J the superhero unicorn!

My brother is in hospital today having his stem cells harvested ready for our sister. They will be frozen due to the delay, but it’s all systems go. Hickman Line (or Hackman as my phone keeps correcting it to! - different thing altogether a Hackman line?) goes in on Friday and her chemo starts next Monday - as long as she hasn’t picked up any more lurgies visiting the hospital today for blood tests!!

Ok…trousers falling down and now turning into a unicorn…you are a special person:smileyhappy:!

Hope you are ok that sounds really ouchy, good luck to your brother and sister hope all goes well.

Away to see if I can get my haircut today, it’s doing it’s own thing and is not pretty, washing machine parts ordered, seems to be taking forever, totally fed up now:smileyfrustrated:!

Will have to try and find some tasty cakes this afternoon to make things all ok xx

Been busy helping my daughter empty her loft.  She and son-in-law have decided to put their house on the market and move to a different /bigger property as their family has expanded.  Both of them are hoarders and we’ve done five trips to the tip already (two cars full each time) and I estimate we’ve done about a tenth of the stuff in their loft. A lot has been put aside for a car boot sale as well!!

Tomorrow, a day off from loft duty but have to pick up grandson from a school trip and deliver him back home. I sometimes wonder…what would my children do without me?  I seem to be the default setting for anything out of the ordinary.  Yeah, ok Mum’ll do it!!  One of these days I might not able to…

Oh gosh you are busy FF, will you be doing the car boot sale too?

Back on the “grrrrrrrrrrrr” bench, washing machine part will be 2-4 weeks, boo hoo! Will have to go to the laundrette in the mean time. Never been before so that will be an adventure:smileyfrustrated:!

Been superly quiet today been feeling sooooooooooo tired, fell asleep earlier it’s all to do with pain.

Had no word about the lido restarting so gave them a call yesterday and found out that my notes had not been forwarded (one hospital to another) lady was most helpful but the earliest date available is May…trying not to think about it all.

ED is getting better day by day, YD has to have a small op on Fri, feel as though I’m on a merry go round which is not stopping :smileyhappy:/:smileysad: any time soon! xx

Life seems to be getting very hectic for everyone! I’ve put loads of spoons in the lost plottery shed.

I’m on the FF bench tonight: called in at doc’s surgery on way home to check MRI results in ahead of tomorrow’s appointment. They’re not! :frowning: Receptionist said they could take up to 3 weeks and asked me if I wanted to cancel the appointment. I said not if there was any chance the results would be there by 11:30 tomorrow. She said “phone about 10 o’clock in the morning so we can re-allocate the appointment if they’re not in”. I pointed out: a) it’s virtually impossible to get through on the phone in the morning; and b)I’ll be at work!! :smileymad:

OH is going to have to phone for me and then text me. If I have to cancel: because we are away next week, it’s likely to be another 10 days, at least, of waiting. Sooo fed up of this now!

So this morning daughter says " Can you babysit for an hour or so tonight?"  My head is going “no no!” My mouth is saying “yes, what time?”  Got back about an hour ago.  Grandson picked up successfully, teacher had no problem letting him go with (to him) a total stranger.  Might have had something do with the fact that grandson ran up to me and threw his arms round me!  He’d been at a golf tournament, 10 local schools and he and his school had come second.  Years 4,5&6 involved.  Maybe we’ve got a budding Open champion!

No, I shall NOT be doing any car boot sales, they’re on their own for that.  Sorry to hear pain is rearing it’s ugly head again Katy, make some FUSS, see if that helps. Glad that ED is getting better, fingers crossed for YD.

No wonder you’re on the FF bench JCJ.  Just a thought, but could you make an appointment for a telephone consult next week?  My doctors do that but then my doctors is possibly the last practice in Britain that you can make an appt. for the same day AND get through to a human on the phone at the first attempt AND yes I do realise how lucky I am with them.

Right, off to bed, got to be up early in the morning.

Aaaaaaah JCJ it’s hopeless waiting for soooooooo long do they not realise what it does to our heads??

Gee:smileyfrustrated:!

My, FF you are doing a fab job, babysitting as well, well done to your grandson:smileyhappy:!

Am on the “little bit happier” bench washing all up to date, laundrette 5 mins from mine if you know the shortcut soooooooooooo fresh bedding and towels all round, woo hoo!! At least I know what to do now:smileyembarrassed:!

That was me being a bit annoyed  FF, re lido, they only have room for 4 beds/4 patients per day, the appt I now have is a cancellation. Usually you have a block of appts sent I only have the one so will have to see what’s what when I go in May, it’s crazy xx

No Katy, please do not wait until your appt. in May to start finding out what is what.  Start right now!  Get on the phone… make a FUSS!  Crazy is right and I completely fail to see why anyone should be in pain in this day and age.
