It’s chocolate cake, but not as you know it. Distinct taste of prunes, although not of coffee despite 3 heaped teaspoons! OH says he can’t taste the prunes, so perhaps it’s because I know they’re there??
Been out for lunch had a 3 course meal (Italian restaurant) for £4.95, it was fabulous, minestrone soup, spag bol and icecream, what a bargain:smileyhappy:!
Bought a pair of leggings, just for scruffing about the house meant to be a size 14, don’t think so unless after that lunch I’ve gained another 2 stone haha, they’ll fit you now JCJ xx
A three course meal for £4.95? Unheard of in my neck of the woods! Wow, I might move to Scotland!
I’ve just ordered on line a new washing machine from the “hot Indian meal” place. To be delivered and installed on the 28th of this month and the old machine to be taken away. I have bought a Bish Bash B…I really did consider the cheaper alternatives but in the end “ya get’s what ya pays for”! The one that has died was a washer/dryer and now I won’t have the drying option but I didn’t use it a lot, so I thought it wasn’t worth paying the extra for a washer/dryer again.
No news on son’s car yet. Nothing else has broken/gone wrong today so all is well at the moment.
I like chocolate cake and I like prunes so the cake tastes fine to me. Pass me another slice!
woo hoo FF the race is on will my machine be repaired before yours is installed??? Am not holding my breath…loved my bish bash b…good decision:smileyhappy:!!
I know how cheap?? We thought it may be not that good but it was fabulous. There was another restaurant in our capital city that did the same, it was cheaper to go there by train than eat here, incredible, now I have a place on my doorstep woo hoo!!
Booked assistance for me and GD’s trip to M this morning and sorted home insurance, managed to get it reduced by nearly £50 so pretty pleased.
Since my lido have been feeling awful, but today am feeling fine, ED said I was the same the last time but I can’t remember…
Am off to see GS today, Mr Wobbly, baldy, smiley boy haha xx
Plumbers have been here all day. Told me it will take today, tomorrow and possibly into Thurs. New boiler is now fixed in place but they have had problems fitting the flue, they’ve been up on the roof all afternoon, dropped one of their tools which fell onto my conservatory roof and scared the living daylights out of me! Coming back tomorrow with proper roof ladders to sort it out and hopefully I will have have hot water tomorrow night.
Son has been contacted by the garage about his car. A fault has been detected, parts have been ordered and it will be fixed and ready for collection on Friday. Hopefully all will be well!
Hope you win the race Katy, I could have got an earlier date but trying to find a day when I could be home all day was difficult.
Strewth, FF! Thought you were going to say the tool smashed through your conservatory roof! You will soon have a toasty warm house again… Just in time for some decent summer weather to arrive?!
I hope the car part fixes the problem and there are no more. Cars are such a worry!
Talking of being scared: I was at my local farm shop yesterday: (“Sm***y Farm Shop and Tearoom’s” and “Your on Camera 24/7” - arrggh I taught punctuation to half their family/staff!!! ) As I was wistfully perusing the cheese and meat counters, there was a girl behind the tills waiting to serve me. When I turned and walked up to the counter, she appeared to have gone, so I assumed she’d given up waiting for me to stop dithering and gone off to do a job. I heaved my basket-trolley onto the counter and looked around for someone to serve me, when she suddenly popped up from behind the counter, (and my basket) I only just restrained myself from screaming and/or wetting myself. Startled the b***** life out of me!! She did apologise profusely though, so my face must have been a picture!
Sitting in day surgery unit waiting for preoperative assessment for keyhole gallbladder removal surgery “in 2 to 3 months”!! Liver cysts “not likely to be causing you any problems”.
I’ve told them I’m not available 18th to 20th August
oh my goodness JCJ that’s moving quickly now, hurrah, you may even have had your surgery and be able to enjoy Afternoon Tea, fish and chips, scones, choc cake…
FF, I also thought you were about to say there was a hole in the roof! Brilliant everything is being sorted including car.
Sitting on the “quiet” bench for the moment, am sitting pondering whether or not to go out, really can’t be bothered but if I don’t go today it will complicate things, mmmmmmmmm slowly inching towards the “CBA” bench xx
Yes, I thought I was going to be saying there was a hole in the roof too. Never heard a bang like it and I’ve never moved so quickly in all my life! At least I now know the conservatory roof is strong! Plumbers promised me hot water tonight but the flue caused problems again today and although now sorted the hot water will be tomorrow.
Laughed at your story JCJ, wish I’d been a fly on the wall! I despair sometimes at the grammar/spelling that is on display. My family are wary about taking me to restaurants as I have been known to “edit” the menu with a red biro:smileywink: I once sent back to a solicitor a letter that contained both spelling and grammar errors. I highlighted them and…I “may” have inplied they were incompetent. I can’t help it. It just riles me. I could be the leader of the grammar police:smileyhappy:
I have been sat on the reading bench for two days while the plumbers do what they do. I expect I will be there tomorrow as well.
Hope you are sorted out quickly JCJ and can enjoy all the treats at MMU3.
Yay…I’ve got hot water…I’ve also got central heating that won’t turn off! Plumber left at 5.30 after showing me how to work the new controller. Called him an hour and a half later as I couldn’t get it to turn off.
He told me how to turn it off at the boiler but obviously the new controller is not working. Heating is now off and plumber returning tomorrow. Teething troubles! I’m loving the hot water however. Bath tonight, have been going to Daughter’s for baths but they’ve been quick “get clean” affairs, will be nice to wallow in my own!!!
I’ve been re-reading my J.D. Robb novels. With having to stay in because of the plumbers I haven’t got to the library so had to utilise my own library (in the spare room) and decided on those. Have you read any of them? Most of my books are “who dunnits”. Haven’t come across S.J.Watson…are they good??
Fingers crossed for you tomorrow, Grumpy. Hope you get answers.
Blood tests - think they’re just for matching - why they can’t use the ones they took before the last surgery?? Have to have more blood tests within a week of op. Form filling all fine, apart from the usual: “what meds are you taking?” “Tamoxifen” “Oh, have you had breast cancer?” Arggghhh read my smeggin notes, that’s why you have that ENORMOUS blue cardboard folder you heft around everywhere with the HUGE white label on the front saying “DO NOT DESTROY. REACT TRIAL PATIENT”
ECG fine despite the previous apoplexy, (see above) stress about being at the hospital MUCH longer than expected and having to try to contact school to say I’d be late back, whilst queuing in various departments and then running upstairs. Just got to wait the “2 to 3 months” now for my operation date.
Went for staff meal tonight and had to sit and watch them all scoffing 3 courses while I had the only thing on the menu that wouldn’t have me crying in pain all night. Half roast chicken with salad and new potatoes - no butter or dressing. Mind you, I only had to pay £7.50, so at least it was a cheap night out! Didn’t even buy any drinks as I wasvthe taxi service for 2 of my colleagues!
On the K bench now. It’s a good job there’s only 1 more get up and then 9 sleep ins!
Whew that was busy at the hospital for you, bet you are glad that part is over.
Had to laugh cause me and Lynn are together all the time, I just get knowing looks of sympathy…
FF hope everything is sorted today!
I really enjoy psychological thrillers, loved The Silent Wife, Gone Girl and Girl on a Train.
Am on my favourite bench at the moment, will move soon, well, maybe??? GD is getting glasses (first pair) today so said I would come down to the opticians to see her. Have to take pictures of her with my new phone (which I love), got the hang of it apart from trying to answer phone this morning, no tapping, swiping only haha xx
Joint pain not connected to BC or meds, just part of normal aging so go back to GP - oh yeah!
Boob pain and tenderness - nearly fell off the couch when ‘probed’ by onc, and went VERY wobbly during mammo - all due to scar tissue, and we’ll see how you are in couple of months. This has been going on for nearly 12 months now, so I’m going to speak to my bcn next week, cos she said nerve pain and it needs different painkillers (amitryptiline). I just feel I was being put off, you know the technique- pat her knee and the problem will go away! If that man pats my knee again, I will not be held responsible… knee patting is not recognised as pain relief as far as I know!!!
Good job I already booked a GP appt for next week, I shall be in stroppy mode by then.
Anyhow, went to Morecambe for lunch and dog walk. All misty sea fret, but not chilly thankfully.
ASBO Joey piddled himself empty, and the Duchess stopped EVERY member of her public for a chat…
Grumpy, Amitryptiline is the antidepressant my OH has been taking for years! I have read it is sometimes used for chronic pain such as arthritis, but it works primarily as a relaxant. Perhaps your BCN is recommending a pat on the knee too - just a chemical one??! I could be wrong, of course - often am!
YD coming to visit this weekend. We’re going to banish OH to cinema and indulge ourselves with a good ol’ girly night laughing at and bitching about Eurovision. Can’t wait! So tired though. Snzzzzzz
