lovely day here, going to do my bit in the museum so won’t see much sun…

Suppose it makes sense if a nerve is being pressed by scar tissue that it would be very painful. let’s hope drugs work, grumpy.
We have had brilliant sunshine this morning, dull now but still warm.
Quiet today, thank goodness have taped stuff this week to watch tonight cause I don’t like Eurovision!
Enjoy your “girlie” night JCJ behave!! hee hee:smileyhappy:! xx
Drugs? What drugs? It was 'go away for a few months and see how it goes!!! ’ I’ve been ‘seeing how it goes’ for nearly a year, and its exhausting!!! So GP will have to prescribe something for both joints and sore boobs.
To add insult to injury, I’m all stuffed up in sinuses and the hay fever season hasn’t started yet…
On the seriously hacked off bench, which is next to the feeling pathetic bench, so I can move across later.
Tomorrow is another day!!!
Grumpy
Ah ha! YD just told me that her OH is taking Amitryptiline for nerve pain - she has a prolapsed disk in her back! And it’s working. She was in agony before and now she has it under control, while she waits for an MRI and possible surgery (she’s already had 1 disk removed!) So there you go. I told you I could be wrong!! (Nothing new there?!
)
Plumber came out on Friday and fixed boiler (it’s not the actual boiler, it’s the ch controller fitted in the sitting room). All ok yesterday, this morning it wouldn’t turn off again. I shall be calling him back again on Tuesday! And probably stopping the cheque that I gave him!! I will try the controller in a different position before I do though just in case, I’ve only just thought of that, so I’d better try it first. The air was blue this morning though.
Apart from that I’ve had a lovely day. It’s been youngest grandaughter’s Christening today, so a party, lots of cake and my friends are down from Hertfordshire for the BH weekend so it’s all been great. Going to the loo at one point during the party I discovered that I had omitted to remove the sales label from the new trousers that was fixed to the waistband :smileyhappy: Fortunately it didn’t show! Daughter asked if I was planning to return them after the event:smileytongue:
Going out with friends tomorrow so that should be a good day as well. I don’t see enough of them since I moved down here. Phone calls are not the same.
Nearly forgot to say that after taking a few photos at the Christening my camera just kept sending me error messages. So it looks like that has broken too!!!
Gosh, are you going for the record FF??? How many broken things can one have???
Glad you had a happy christening day we’ll see the photos at MMU3 perhaps?
Will we spot the label?
grumpy, when are you at docs?
JCJ did you have a good girlie night?
All jobs done, housework, WASHING at that place, a little bit of shopping and tea sorted soooooooooo am on the “almost smug” bench if I’d hoovered then I would have def earned my place.
The women who work at THAT place are getting so used to me that I have a muggatea there haha, really boo hoo…
Remember FF the race is on…xx
Yes, thank you Katy, we did have a good night, although we both thought the songs weren’t as good as last year. It was lovely to watch with YD and have a good laugh.
ES came yesterday too, which was a surprise. We’ve not seen them both together since Christmas. It meant I had to cook three different Sunday dinners, but at least I was super organised last Sunday and saved, in the freezer, some chicken and gravy (made without meat juices) as OH &YD were having lamb, a definite “no no” for me! (mmmmm love lamb :() ES doesn’t like lamb so I had to do him a chicken breast wrapped in bacon at the last minute - luckily we all had the same veg though (no roasties for me).
I’ve just been to Sainsbury’s (other…) and spent a ridiculous amount on an enormous amount of food to take on holiday, so that I have easy, delicious meals that can be thrown together quickly, and I’m not tempted to eat out or have take away. We’re only going for 3 days - we’ll have to eat nonstop to get through it all!
I hope your heating is properly fixed soon, FF, and that your camera was just having a temporary glitch - not enough light or something perhaps?
Grumpy, you tell 'em! Get your doc to give you something to sort your pain out. x
Oooh! The red tennis is on!
Another lovely day out with my friends and a fantastic roast dinner at a local(ish) pub at a very reasonable price. I shall be going there again:smileyhappy:
Katy - one thing broken is one too many and it’s a record I don’t want! If anything else breaks I shall scream! You might hear me! Photos at MMU3 are a distinct possibility and no, you won’t see the label. You may however see the trousers. I did all my housework before friends came. Couldn’t have them seeing the house as it was!
Glad you’ve had a good family time JCJ. Do NOT be tempted into any takeaways on your holiday. Hope you enjoy it and the weather is good.
Grumpy - do now allow your GP to pat your knee again. Enough is enough, get drugs!
Oh yeah, red tennis. That’s the next two weeks viewing sorted. Come on Andy!
Glad you are having fun FF, you deserve it after all that has happened in the last few weeks!
Where are you off to JCJ?
Am on the “lethargic” bench which is a tad different from the “CBA” bench, ED insists I felt the same the last time at the beginning of lido, she says stick with it Mum cause it gets better…honestly can’t remember…
You are going to be sooooooooooooo mad at me when you see the little things I have purchased for MMU3, gonna practice my running skills asap:smileylol: xx
I remember you saying the lido had knocked you for six last time, Katy, so ahng in there it will get better. As long as it’s sorting the pain out?
We are in a cottage just a mile South of Buxton, Derbyshire. Lovely sunny day today so we went for a little walk just in case it’s raining the rest of the time we’re here. Prepared a prawn and smoked salmon salad with new potatoes for dinner. Looked and tasted delicious - even if I do say so myself! - was easy to throw together, and cost a fraction what something similar would have cost in a pub. And it won’t make me ill… I hope!!
Tried ch controller in a different position this morning and it worked! I now remember plumber saying that it might be directional and that’s why he didn’t fix it to the wall. So hopefully all will be ok now. Glad I tried it before I called him back, would have felt very stupid! Can’t believe how quiet new boiler is compared to the old one.
Had a very quiet day today, friends went back to Hertfordshire this morning. So I sat on the “just chillin’” bench today after such a busy weekend. On the “tennis” bench as well.
Tomorrow will be busier as I must go shopping, go to the bank, change library books and various other errands…Oh and go to work…as I have to stay in all day Thursday to wait for the new washing machine to be delivered. Apparently it will be delivered between 7am and 7pm. Good job it’s half-term so I can have the day off!
Gosh it’s really awful that I can’t remember, where are my marbles?? And no it’s not really making any difference:smileyfrustrated:!
That sounds really yummy, hope you are enjoying your break:smileyhappy:!
FF, is that nearly everything fixed? You’ll be sooooooooooo glad.
Just nipped to the shop before the rain starts it’s getting darker and darker here…ok so onto my skateboard and off on the hunt for my missing marbles xx
Tested ch controller again this morning and it worked ok, although it seems to take a long time to turn off. With a new system it’s difficult to know what is normal. I am now going to turn off the ch for the summer and I can only hope and pray that it will all work correctly in Oct/Nov when it is needed.
Son’s new car is an ongoing saga. We were told it would be ready last Friday… it wasn’t. He threw a wobbly and managed to get a courtesy car out of them and was told it would be ready on Tuesday. It wasn’t and he was told it would be ready today…it’s not. Now they’ve promised tomorrow. Story is… everytime they replace something they have to replace something else and they are waiting for parts. Although son’s going crazy, I’m thinking/hoping that by the time they’ve finished, everything will be new and it will be a car that will last a long time. Also suspect that by the time the dealer has paid for the repair his profit has been wiped out, so that makes me happy!
Did all my errands today but when it came to going to work I thought…No, can’t be bothered…I’ll do extra on Friday.
Waiting for the washing machine tomorrow, lots of washing waiting to be done!
I seem to remember that you said the lido hadn’t made any difference at first, last time, Katy? Then suddenly you felt better. Or maybe it’s me losing marbles?
I am impressed with myself, so far, this holiday. Resisted all temptations, eaten only food prepared by me, and I feel OK - well as OK as I ever do at the moment! We had a walk into Buxton yesterday, ate a picnic in the Pavilion gardens followed by a cup of tea sitting outside. In the evening, After walking back to the cottage for a quick meal, (Got back justvas it started to rain!) we drove back to The Opera House to see Jodie Prenger in Calamity Jane. “Oh the Deadwood stage is rocking on into town…Whip crack away, whip crack awaaaay” It was quite expensive but absolutely worth it. Such talented actors! They all sang and danced well and played at least 2 instruments - sometimes all at once!! Not a patch on Benchland performances though, because they weren’t on ice!
Got to get off this CBA bench to have a shower and get dressed before our last full day here has gone.
Pssssssssssst, there’s an odd noise coming from my kitchen…the washing machine is FIXED!!!
Have been somersaulting around Benchland for the last half hour, woo hoo, scooby/booby doo:smileyhappy:! Did I win???
JCJ, that’s brilliant that you are actually enjoying this holiday:smileyhappy:!
FF, hopefully son’s car is sorted asap, what’s wrong with things nowadays that everything takes so long?
Sat on my glasses last night, grrrrrrrrrrr so will have to go to opticians tomorrow:smileyfrustrated:!
More good news GD’s team won their Sport’s Day:smileyhappy: she is sooooooooooo excited xx
So pleased that your washing machine is finally fixed Katy. It’s been a looooong time waiting for you and such an inconvenience. Saw you doing the somersaults and wondered why. My new washing machine has arrived and been installed. I have read the instruction manual and it seems to be fairly easy to operate. It has a 15 minute quick wash that I think willl be very useful.
Son’s car won’t be ready until Saturday. Yet another part needs to be replaced. It will be a new car when finally finished!
Glad you are enjoying your holiday JCJ, resisting temptation is not easy, so well done to you.
After a very lazy week, tomorrow will be busy, lots of work to do, must go to school and make sure that it is ready for the new half-term. Don’t know what I will find there, teachers may well have been in and made a complete mess of it! Having days off sometimes results in more work!
HURRAY - GP came up trumps. Got amitryptiline for boob pain, referral to rheumatologist for joint paint and card for walk in X ray for nose and sinuses. Now feeling more hopeful, just need to separate out the various pains and manage them. Amitryptiline MAY ease joint pain as well. I never before realised how wearing constant pain can be, even low level pain. Got to go back in 3 weeks for review, x Ray and mammo results. Here’s hoping no more trips to clinic will be required so I can get on with post BC life.
And new stepwagon is ready… so I can get it to the converter shop for its bits and pieces. Already got the fabric for the curtains (from Oxfam) and all the camping gear stacked up in the front hall to be sorted ext. Exciting, holidays nearly here!!!
Weather absolutely naff, washed winter jumpers yesterday which was a bit of a mistake, wearing 3 layers today to compensate.
Oh dear just read leaflet GLITTERBERRY JUICE NOT ALLOWED. So that’s a trip to the shops for interesting soft drinks.
Dogs to vet tomorrow for boosters, more expense so no new clothes this month.
Love to all
Grumpy
Woo hoo still somersaulting around, have washed everything in sight whether it needed washed or not haha!!
Good news then grumpy, hopefully things will settle soon, yes pain is very wearing. Great you have new van too things are on the up!
FF, if son’s car is fitted with all the parts, it will be as you said a basically new car so even though it’s been awful for them it may in a funny way be worth it!
Have to go out soooooo will need to try and avoid the rain, over the last few days it’s been like winter again, brrrrrrrrrrrrr:smileyfrustrated:!
Jumped onto the “grrrrrrrr” bench earlier, spilt bleach on my new trousers…xx
Yipee! So much to celebrate in Benchland. FF and/or KTC do you fancy doing my washing for me as we’ve come back from the Peak District with loads and I CBA.
I managed to stick to my diet - although walking around Bakewell today was torture: so many delicious smells: pizzas, fish & chips, pasties , Bakewell puddings, to name but a few. Every 50 yards there was someone eating something I couldn’t have. We went back to the car (too cold and wet to eat outside) and ate our picnic. Avoiding temptation is easy, though, when I remember the *pain* I was in at Easter. I’m so frightened of feeling like that again, that I daren’t take any risks.
Grumpy, I’m glad you’ve finally got some meds to deal with your pain. OH sometimes has a drink - only a half pint or 2, or a small glass of port - despite his Amitryptiline, without any I’ll effect, so the odd glitterberry juice, occasionally, probably shouldn’t do you any harm?
I hope the teachers didn’t leave too much mess, FF?
I’m firmly on the tennis bench now - we couldn’t watch in the cottage as the TV didn’t have ITV4
