Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

Oh dreary, dreary me, have been on the “feeling sick and visiting the loo a lot” bench:smileysad:!

But feeling sooooooooooo much better today, just as well as it was our pre Xmas lunch, Nothing Xmasy about it, but was the only time we could get together, it was yummy and even managed a dessert which I don’t usually do. It was waffles, with a toffee sauce and icecream slurpy, slurp, Have left a HUGE batch for all in the shed.

Was racking my brains, not hard to do nowadays…and don’t think I have ever won anything, it’ll be the lucky white heather again…

Was not into the Thunderbirds at all, was a pretty girly girl, one year I did get a Thunderbirds Annual but was not enthralled as would rather have The Bunty, The Mandy or The Judy haha!

Did admire Lady Penelope’s dress sense though! xx

Oops YD off on her travels early this morning, went into her room later and discovered she had forgotten her underwear??? Yep, that’s my girl:smileyhappy:xx

We’ve got snow on the fells!!!

Wearing a vest today.

Grumpy

Also wearing a vest today.  The drop in temperature is remarkable, so much colder than yesterday.  It’s supposed to get warmer again next week, I hope it does.  New heating boiler is still being interesting, It’s working ok but it’s not functioning as I would expect but as I STILL haven’t read the instructions I’m sure it’s my fault.  I’m warm and that’s all that matters.

Going to son’s tomorrow to hang wallpaper for them on their living room chimney breast.  Really must/will teach him how to do it himself, or teach daughter-in-law how to do it.  Mustn’t be sexist!  They’ve promised me Lasagne for dinner and DIL makes a mean Lasagne.  Looking forward to that.

Foxy - couldn’t resist “hope you’re breast hanging goes well and doesn’t start drooping” !!  Sit yourself down with a cup of coffee with your boiler manual and study, then get up, make another cup o’ coffee and study the boiler whilst you’re rereading the manual. Then sit down again and have a glass of vino.

Yeh, we’ve got snow on them thar hills today. Had me padded trousers, padded jacket and hat on today for walking into and around town. Gonna look out my “silk” thermal long johns with matching polo neck vest top. Yeh I know, sounds posh, but when you go walking up fells in the Lakes in Jan, it’s a sensible and long term investment and I’ve had them 13 YEARS. You need t’ proper equipment and silks the best. (Feel verrrrry nice too).  If it’s a day like today up there, you see it at it’s absolute best - crispy clear views and few other folk around

Grumpy - Which fells are YOU referring to ??.

Katy - Hope you’re tums better. Mines also been off for over a week. Hardly had anything to eat - fridge full of tempting food thats been going to waste. Has there been a bug going around? Stomach roach or maggot !!

Well, besides my Lady P beads and mirror, ‘I’, me, MOI - actually won a Blue Peter BADGE. That’s a huge accolade, they didn’t just give 'em away you know !  Again, it was for a colouring competition - I was obviously good at it. Interesting that there are now loads of adult ones becoming popular for helping distract your mind, give it a rest, as in “mindfulness”. Must get some !!

I’ve just won £333,000 on the post code lottery but I haven’t got a bank account big enough to take it, so does anyone want to take it off my hands for a Fiver ???  First come- first served.

Hope you’re all having a good weekend

DoolallyDelly xx

Delly - Wansfell, Loughrigg and Fairfield Horseshoe.

But it’s been bright and sunny, so lovely for dog walks.

Grumpy

Grumpy - CORR, you’re talking Ambleside area ! Are you saying you live up there ?? or on hol ? If it’s the former, OOOOOOO - you lucky minx. If it’s the latter - oooooo you lucky minx !!

Foxy - how’s your breast hanging ??

Dellypoos xx

Delly - sending you a fiver immediately (hope this isn’t a scam!!!)  Breast hanging went well but slowly and everything looks very perky.  No drooping at all:smileyhappy:

Have read manual with a cuppatea (don’t do coffee) then re-read with a glass of vino and then re-read with a glass of vino and once again and now it makes no sense at all!

Expected to have the the wallpapering done in about two hours, it took FIVE.  They have such wonky walls and there were so many wires in the way and plug sockets etc. it took a lot of patient fiddling about to get it right but I’m pleased that I did get it right in the end. When I was shown the paper that I was putting up I didn’t like it but now that it’s done it looks good.  Lasagna was wonderful. DIL couldn’t boil an egg when she first met my son but now she’s a really good cook.

Had a letter from my Drs. Apparently the blood test that I had has shown that I have a low folic acid level.  A prescription has been issued.  My daughter laughed and said that I will be able to have a healthy baby shortly. EEEK!! NO!!

FF, having read the manual with several vinos, a word of advice: DON’T TOUCH THE HEATING CONTROLS until the vino’s warn off! You may freeze to death?! :stuck_out_tongue:

It sounds like your daughter is much recovered if she is joking about having a new baby sister?!

I’m on the feeling slightly guilty yet proud of myself bench. I managed the Nnnnno word today!! A huge achievement for me! HT emailed me this afternoon about changes/additions that need to be made to the school website. I didn’t get it until after cooking and eating Sunday dinner this evening.  I was really ****ed off because I’d planned to finish knitting Cracker Bear (another dec for KTC’s costume - lead weights included, of course!) and make a start on making Christmas cards. HT said to ask if I needed time, so I said I didn’t have time tonight, and I’m covering for teachers all day tomorrow, so I’ll need time out of class on Tuesday morning. She said I can do that, or do it after school and be paid overtime! If I’d just done it tonight she wouldn’t have paid me. So it has, literally, paid to say NO!

Cracker Bear finished, but it’s now too late and I’m too tired to start on the cards. :frowning:

Cracker Bear!!

JCJ - Awwww, that’s such a cutey !! Well done on saying NOOOO. We’ll be seeing you judging the Dragons Den yet !

Foxy - Yeh - hee, appreciate the perkiness of your breast hangings !!!   Well done on your “pushed”  P-A -T-I-E-N-C-E  ! ref wallpapering. Funny how it can look so much better when it’s up, than just on the roll - good.

Remind me of why you had  blood test in the first place - what were you experiencing ??

No The £333,000 is NOT a scam - you only have to watch the tv adverts to know it’s genuine. However, because you responded so quickly, and I was testing the water, I’ve decided to now put it up for auction to the highest bidder. You see JCJ isn’t the only accidentally astute business woman amongst us. So am open to higher bidders - think this may take some time till I get the right price, but at least I’m gaining interest on it until then.

Any offers on a Fiver ? Once in a lifetime opportunity ladies. Don’t be shy!!

Dellypoos xx

Excuse me? *Accidentally* astute??? I’ll have you know there is nothing at all accidental about my astuteness!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, Delly it was a stomach bug…ED had it too, yuckety yuck! Hope you are better now.

Well done FF, breast completed with no recall!!

JCJ, just lay down to see cracker, he’s lovely:smileyhappy:

P******* down here we have only had one rain free day in weeks, grrrrrr, have had heating on for hours daily, 40 jumpers worn, body warmers, heated gloves and that’s just inside the house hahaha! AAAAAH we’re a hardy bunch up here.

Quick nip into town later to get the things I forgot on Fri sooooooooooo annoying and had a list with me???

YD did have a good time but it was very stormy sooo lots of them seasick, she comes back today as she stayed the night in RevCat’s city and she does have clean underwear xx

Delly, I live in Ambleside, being Cumbria born and bred. So yes I am VERY lucky…

Got new pills for the joint pain. Nurse reckons it’s nothing to do with BC drugs, but something called neuropathic pain, so consulting Dr Google to learn more. Hopefully I shall now be able to sleep through the night. Apparently it’s a type of arthritis, but not very common.

Chariot Race may be bard work, but if the pills work I shall be flying along Norcambe prom in scooter with dog trailer for Meg and Joey on a skateboard. Still not found a FROCK to wear, so it may have to be something borrowed from Dame Maggie’s Downton wardrobe. One has to keep up one’s standards!!!

Grumpy

“Bard work” grumpy? Is some famous writer joining us? Or will we have to recite Shakespeare whilst traversing Norecambe prom, at speed, dressed as (ill-advised) glamour Queens, taking out pedestrians and negotiating circumlocutions of various landmarks along the way? The challenge heightens! We few, we happy few, we band of … Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and my stomach bubbles.

What?

Oh, you meant “hard”. Now I’ve wasted all that time learning my lines! :stuck_out_tongue:

Am def not doing Shakespeare, no, no, no!!

Perhaps one of your famous songs JCJ?

Can mime beautifully now, years of the silent choir, perhaps it can be broadcast over loud speakers as we race along…

Think I’m almost ready, thank you for the knee highs JCJ, they did come with leaves, twigs and mud attached, another ploy, methinks??? Had to boil them for hours…xx

Hope your new tabs work grumpy, what are they?

JCJ - “Circumlocutions”  ??? (Am simply, getting you back now for picking on Katyc 's  SIMPLE typo-stake of “bard” instead of “hard”). So what the heck are they ?? There IS such a word and, YES I actually checked my Thesaurus, so I’ve learned TWO things for you to stick in your “Trumper”

1) in what it ACTUALLY means - loadsa big complicated words that basically mean “repetitiveness”, verbal diarrhoea. AND

  1. JCJ isn’t all she makes out to be. Shhh - a wee bit of a BS. Orrrrrr, naughty me - I AM TEEASING!! xx

Grumpy - You lucky BLEEP. I’ve instantly conjured up lake/fell walks, Brothers Water up to Glenridding, or Loughrigg Fell and Terrace down to Grassmere and back, Zefferelli’s little cinema and restaurant complex, Lovely, lovely - “Memorieeeeeees, like the corners of my mind. . . . .” Awwww - my parents and my own very be-lov-ed Lakes.  What do you do there for a living? or are you now retired? If so, what DID you do for a living ??

Neuropathic pain, basically means pain caused by irritation of the nerve fibres !! Bit of a “broad” NON-specific explanation for what may be causing what you’re experiencing.

Over and out from me

Delly-no-BS-welly !!  xxx

Deliberate play on words, Delly - was going to use circumnavigations but decided to take the p out of myself for using so many unnecessarily long words to describe our chariot race! :smileywink:

AND it was grumpy’s typo, not Katytc’s. Get your facts right before you accuse ME of BS! Hehehehe - Handbags at dawn?? :smileylol:

OK…get the glitterball out, dance off around handbags at 8.00 pm this evening. Good luck girls xx

Ummmm - I’ve been “Told off”. and . . . which handbag shall I use ?? Which is likely to cause the most damage ?? And Yeh, Yeh to the “intentional Play” on words - huh, you don’t fool me, I’ve got you sussed and am keeping a verrrrrrry close eye on you JCJ.

Oh, and also, I can beat katyc on the knee highs. Mine come up to my ARMPITS so there, naaaa na na naaa naaa

Dellypoos xx
