Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

So I went back to work today.  Didn’t get there early enough to catch HT, just admin lady who told me that the last time school was cleaned was last Tuesday. The staff have just been trying do their best to keep it reasonable. Reasonable it is, clean it is not!  It will take me at least two weeks to catch up.  This is why I drag myself into work when I’m dying!!

I’ve just had a row, very politely, via text messages, with HT.  Just now found out it’s easier to express myself in a confrontational situation in text rather than face to face.  A couple of minutes to think before replying is better. Why is there no proper cover for me when I’m off sick?  She has promised to sort it out?  I’ll believe that when I see it and the the last thing I was doing today was any overtime!

Whoopee JCJ.  Great news!  You and me both “back to the van” is worth celebrating!  PAAARTY! Ta’poxy’fen wasn’t even mentioned at my last appt.  Buy another curtain and pole?  Wouldn’t it have been cheaper to buy sealant? But glad you have no more leaks.

JCJ, you are just far too emotional :smileyvery-happy:

Woo hoo scooby/booby doo:smileyhappy:!!!

“back on the van” we are all back now!

If you can suffer ta"poxy"fen JCJ, would def continue. Surgeon said 10 years for me and Onc said 5 years was fine, Onc had final say…

Had an appointment the other day and was asked “if my bc was now in remission?” I was shocked, first time anyone has ever said that. Anyone else?

Finally have my doc appt for nodding yes head, not until next week but that’s ok.

FF, that’s ridiculous what about H & S now?? They just pick and choose, a load of nonsense…

Sounds yummy JCJ, and you should celebrate, woo hoo!! Happy days.

DIY sealant? well done hahaha xx

Agree FF, JCJ is sooooooooooooooooooo emotional xx

Got the sealant, FF, but need to strip out the old and reseal and then wait for it to set. With going to the hospital and out for dinner, I knew I wouldn’t have time tonight, but I really needed to wash my hair. Back a bit fragile so don’t want to risk bending over the sink or bath, so had to get the shower functioning tonight. And now I can do the sealing job at my leisure (give it 6 months?)

OH says he’s going to do it tomorrow. I hope not. He was always a messy painter/DIYer and with the PD shake … :frowning:  I’m hoping the temporary fix will prevent him rushing in and making a mess. Well, I can but hope?

Talking of mess, don’t overdo it at school, FF, it’s THEIR fault it’s not been cleaned, not yours. Don’t make yourself I’ll trying to catch up. 4 more weeks and the kids will be out of there and you can get it back to pristine splendour!

Eating my words, my hat and large quantities of humble pie. OH has sealed bath and it looks like a neat job - only a few splodges to clean up when it’s properly set. Time will tell if it has fixed the leak, but if not (and it took lots of attempts before - odd shaped bath!) I’ve got the back up shower curtain!

If it has worked, I can finally get around to replacing the knac*ered Louvre blind in the little bedroom with curtains using the new telescopic curtain pole. The curtains will have to sit inside the window recess, because the bed is just underneath the window. Been wondering how to fix curtains without screwing into the plastic window frames. This will do the job. Just need to purchase some nice eyelet curtains. See. There’s method in my apparent extravagant madness. The £4.99 shower curtain can be kept as an emergency spare - or even a decorating splash sheet!! Win, win situation!

Hope you put custard on them, makes them a little more palatable I’ve found.  So glad that OH has done

such a good job and there’s always a few bits to clear up isn’t there? Hope it works!  Curtains for the spare room using the pole?  I’m impressed by your solution to two problems at the same time!

Went into school tonight and found that they’ve all been out on a trip today, so I’ve been mostly able to catch up in one day (two weeks could have been an exaggeration :smileyfrustrated:)  It’s fortuitous and good but still doesn’t solve the underlying problem.

IT’S RAINED!! :smileyhappy: It’s made me feel so much better, I can take on the world now!  Rain forecast for the next few days so that makes me happy.

Yeah for OH, JCJ:smileyhappy:!!

And you now have two jobs for the price of one, well, sort off hahaha.

Glad you have almost caught up FF, whew!

It’s chilly up here so you would be fine, in fact my hands are freezing…

Am away to make you both feel bad, kids are off here from tomorrow…

So Nannie duties are increasing:smileyhappy:, starting lunchtime.

ED has taken time off so kiddiewinks will be here and there, throughout the hols, Norcambe will be a welcome break!!

YD home safely, have finally caught up with washing, woo hoo! xx

No, I refuse to feel bad, your kids may break up earlier but go back sooner, it’s all relative.  Just three weeks and two days now.  As long as the weather cooperates I’ll be fine.  It’s raining cats and dogs here at the moment YAY.  I do actually feel bad for those holidaying here…just a small shower every night would do me!

I’m due Nana duties next Weds night.  Will go one of two ways, either babysitting youngest GD while both parents attend a school musical evening where 12 yr old GD is a member of the steel band.  Or I’ll be attending the performance while SIL babysits.  Know which I’d prefer so I’m hoping SIL will cry off and I can go and watch GD.  SIL suffers from tinnitus so he has a good reason not to go and hear loud music but he may make the effort for GD.  To be decided…

May be going to local town tomorrow to return two of the three pairs of trousers bought last week!  One to swap one to get money back.

I was initially dead jealous of your school’s, KTC, but, as FF says, we can console ourselves with still having loads of holiday left when they’re back in school in August! And the weather’s c**p at the moment too. (Although, that’s a matter of opinion, eh FF?)

Vile afternoon trying to reach disrespectful, rude Y6s. Felt like just walking out before I burst into tears. Consoled myself with the thought that there’s only 17 more days, and on 2 of those they will be at their new school and another day is a trip, so that’s 14. We’ll get there. And next year I won’t have to do it. I can say NO!

De-stressing swim later. Boy! Do I need it?! :smileymad:

NHS letter awaiting when I got home. Momentary panic, then realised it was onc appointment for next year. 2nd July 2018!! Is that even a date!!!

Aaah JCJ, it’ll soon be better, after school hols, hopefully things won’t be sooooooooo trying:smileyfrustrated:!

Had the most yucky day…picked GD up from school with GS in tow, it was torrential rain, we were all drenched, had to strip the kids and tumble dry all their clothes. I have never been so wet apart from when I went swimming. Horrific, rotten day…

Did you take trousers back FF? xx

Make sure you do say NO JCJ, stick to your guns about the new duties and timetable and have that less stressful life you are looking forward to. To which you are looking forward.  Don’t end a sentence with a preposition.  See, I WAS paying attention at school!

No rain here today Katy but everything still nice and damp from yesterday’s rain.  Sorry you got so wet hope you have a better day tomorrow!

Haven’t taken trousers back yet, Daughter very busy wilh other things but as she has to return stuff too, I might as well wait until she’s ready to go. Next week I presume.  So much easier to be a passenger for 50 miles than to drive myself (cheaper too :smileytongue: )

Been up to town this am, visited Library, they are running out of books that I haven’t read!  Have managed to download a couple of books to the new Kindl but haven’t read them yet. Think they will be saved for Norcambe. Getting excited, is it too soon to pack?

XSwimming wasn’t the stress-busting session I needed! :frowning: Radio blaring. It’s soooo loud when it reverberates around a solid building half filled with water! :frowning: I nearly drowned myself trying to keep my ears under water ( swimming on my front!!) so it was less noisy. I tried to signal to the lifesaver to turn it down (or preferably, off) but I’m not sure they didn’t turn it up!! Grrrrr!

I complained, politely, to the guy on the desk, as I left, and he said I should just ask them to turn it off. Then he added that it was only on because TWO ladies had requested it - thereby neatly implying that I was outvoted?l I suggested that they should go to the aquasize class (loud music and shouting instructor) prior to MY ladies only session, and pointed out that I can’t swim anywhere else whereas they can listen to the radio anywhere.

Next week, if it’s on again, I shall request that it’s turned off, and say the man on the desk told me to!!  At least I managed a mile before giving up and getting out. Now 42% of the way around Guernsey!

One more day at the hell hole and then YD is coming, on Saturday, for the weekend.

It’s never too soon to pack FF hahaha:smileyhappy:!

How annoying music blaring non stop grrrrrrrrrrrr, JCJ:smileyfrustrated:

Have a lovely weekend with daughter, woo hoo.

Am on the “feeling ****” bench, have chronic hayfever, WHAT??? Sneezing, coughing, nose pouring, sore head and throat, what’s going on?? Thought it was a cold but took a hayfever tab and it all calmed down. Have been awake for hours just taken another tab meant to be every 24 hours so will calm down soon, fingers crossed. Good job have doc appt next week haha! xx

Hope you are feeling better Katy, I  remember hay fever well had it from mid teens on and it was truly awful but I seem to have to grown out of it now.  I’ve passed it on to both children so I always have tablets in the house in case they need them.

Thought I might go up to town today to perhaps get a new summery, waterproof jacket. In the end the tennis finals at Eastbourne were much more appealing so I watched them and might go to town next week.

Tomorrow another lazy day planned.  Books to read, recorded tv to watch and just do…nothing!

Best days are “nothing” days, FF, are you much better now?

Aaaah your poor children hayfever, yuck!!

Spoke to ED and she says it’s not hayfever but a BUG thats doing the rounds, symptoms are very similar.

Am not sure but it completed knocked me, spent most of yesterday sleeping, still not right but slightly better:smileyfrustrated:!

Quiet day here too, apart from this morning, broadband kept going off, did the same on Fri so thought I’d better phone about it, one hour later all fixed, woo hoo, oh so draining though haha xx

Yucky bugs, KTC! I hope you feel better soon. At least if it’s not hayfever you’ll recover and not get it again!!

YD been here since yesterday lunchtime. She left at 8 tonight and I’m awaiting the ‘safe home’ text before I can go to bed. Should be about 11pm.

We had a good laugh this weekend, played badminton in the garden using the pop up net I bought OH for his birthday (OH marked out the lines with flour - not sure what that’ll do to the grass when it  a rains??!) and ate loads of food.

She brought the wedding photos CD - 370+ photos!! There are some lovely ones.

Can’t wait the 3 1/2 weeks until we’re going camping.

Sports day tomorrow morning, picnic lunch on the field and then a difficult class for the afternoon - including PE!! Then it’s home to watch the proper, green tennis! May call in the farm shop on the way home to make sure we have some strawberries and cream to enjoy whilst watching!

Hope you feel better today Katy, I’m good now just need the weather to cooperate!

370 photos?  That’s a lot!  Look forward to seeing some of them in August. Get those shorts on for PE.  I have got my strawberries and cream ready for the green tennis.  Go Andy but I’m not that hopeful this year.

Returning and exchanging trousers tomorrow, Daughter has managed to find the time to return her stuff. Maybe new waterproof summery jacket will be found?

Am soooooooooo much better today:smileyhappy:! Felt sooooooooo awful:smileyfrustrated:!!

Are you still running JCJ??

Have you bought anything else, FF?

Poured with rain all day but fortunately stopped before I had to go out, whew.

Been to docs, am being referred to an ophthamologist and neurologist, have a small growth under my eye that cannot be removed in doc’s surgery cause it’s too close to the eye. Neurologist for shaking yes head, am ok with it because doc said it was quite unusual as I don’t really have any other indicators for known illnessess. Will prob be ages for appts anyway, so no point in worrying or thinking about it.

May cause a problem in Norcambe because you will think I’m saying yes to everything hahaha!

No strawberries and cream for me have not tasted really nice ones for ages so will have rasps instead.

Muggatea and giant caramel slice are calling me, will leave some in the shed but be quick cause I love them and have been known to eat them all in quick succession hahaha xx

Got money back for two pairs of trousers.  One pair I really wanted to exchange but they didn’t have my size, so I’ve been on line tonight and ordered them, have to pay for delivery but still less than £9 so still cheap for a pair of trousers but not as cheap as they would have been if they were in stock in store!  Aaarg!  Never mind!

So glad you are feeling better today Katy.  Promise not to assume you are saying yes until I hear you actually say it. Seriously, hope all is ok with you. Raspberries and cream definitly acceptable.

I’m off to the shed for a caramel slice before you eat them all!
