Glad you are so much better, KTC. I am planning a series of questions to which I would like the answer “yes”, ready for Norecambe:
Is it your turn to buy the teas?
Can I have your chocolate eclair?
Is it time for another cup of tea/ice cream/cake/fish & chips?
etc etc
Seriously, I hope the nodding is not causing you too much agro - or worry, and that you get your appointment before too long.
Sports day happened. I was scorer, as I have been for as many years as I can remember - at both schools I’ve worked in. One look at me and they just know my maths will be better than my sporting ability?!
Just been playing badminton (very badly), in the garden, with OH, and I’m covered in insect bites. There’s some vicious little b*****D’s out there! I have several itchy holes in my legs and feet. Slathered my self in antihistamine cream. Scritch scritch scratch.
Whew picking myself up and dusting myself down after being knocked to the ground in that rush for the caramel slices hahaha:smileyhappy:!!
Scorer indeed, we have seen you racing the camels at Norcambe beach…
Glad you have the trousers you wanted FF, so annoying when you have to order online, wanted to buy a pair of school shorts for my GD and the store that is famous for underwear doesn’t do navy, WHAT??? Since half the schools in the area wear navy, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Was telling YD about noddy head and she said yes you were doing it when we were speaking the other day, oh no says me cause I wasn’t aware of doing it so she has promised to tell me when she sees me nodding.
Now this puts Norcambe on a different level, if I can’t get some control I will be nodding yes to choc eclairs, teas etc hahaha:smileyhappy::smileyhappy:she says guffawing with laughter xx
Hope the weather doesn’t hot up too much, FF, and you manage to stay comfortable and we’ll. Thunderstorms and flash flood warnings for tomorrow and Friday, from the Met Office!
This afternoon/evening’s green tennis, on centre court, was superb! The crowd got their money’s worth, unlike yesterday!
Right ankle horribly, hot, swollen and blistered following the evil insect bite yesterday. I’ve had to sit with it strapped in an ice pack all evening. Good job I planned to do no more than sit watching the tennis! No flip flop wearing badminton for me tonight!! (Or ever again? :()
Get a preview of next year’s class tomorrow, and all the Year 6s are spending the next 2 days at their secondary school. I’m in Y6 again next year - it’s going to be a challenging class (putting it mildly…and politely!) but at least I shouldn’t have to teach them as often.
Been to Son’s for dinner tonight, lasagne was mentioned (DIL does a mean Lasagne) but when I got there Son had fired up the barbie so burgers and hot dogs, fried onions…oh and chocolate bananas! Absolutely yummy :smileyvery-happy: Not long been home a very enjoyable evening.
Grandchildren spent most of it in the pool. I got a few rather wet cuddles. No worries, I’ll take a cuddle wherever I can get one!
It’s too hot, got the fan and the humidifier on, feeling fine and tomorrow it’s supposed to be cooler. Learning how to manage in this type of weather.
I’ve watched some great green tennis today but was forced to leave one match as I had to go to work. On-line as soon as I could to see who had won!
Glad you’re OK, FF. No rain here - yet? It’s been soooo hot today! A few spots fell just now when I was sitting in the garden with my apres-swim mugatea and toast, but that’s all. Wouldn’t flash flood a thimble!
Today’s taster of things to come was quite scary. I may not be teaching so much in September, but I’ll still have my work cut out!! Not looking forward to it at all. :(
OH suddenly announced, at dinner tonight, that he would like me to go with him to his hospital appointment with PD consultant tomorrow. I asked on Monday, but he said then he didn’t need me. Rather annoying because I’d planned a load of jobs I wanted to get done, at school, while the Y6s are out at their new school. I’ll go in for an hour then Bob back home to pick OH up and drive the 10 miles to the hospital. Afterwards, I’ll drop him back home and try to get back to school in time to cover the class for the afternoon. Could have done without it. So tired. But, hey ho!
YD spitting feathers. Trying to sort name change on her bank accounts. One bank has her title wrong on ALL FOUR cards. Other bank wants her to pick up the new card from the branch in Preston, where she initially opened the account whilst a student there. She now lives 260 miles away in Norwich, and has done for the last 5 years!! I’m on the FF bench on her behalf!
Hope you are doing ok. Move here it’s not hot at all haha!
Hope all goes well with your OH today JCJ, fingers crossed.
Still expect to see him wandering around Norcambe?? hee hee.
Have the bites calmed down now??
YD’s birthday today woo hoo, very low key, she is usually away so she will have her favourite tea, pizza and lots of little raspberry cakes, there will be NO extras left hahaha xx What’s she like??
PD appointment fine. Carry on with same meds. Back in 6 months. He had to do some memory exercises some of which I struggled with! Reciting the months backwards! I already didn’t know whether I was coming or going!!
Veg stall outside hospital so I bought some strawberries. They’re delicious. All the produce had price labels emblazoned with “1 of your 5 a day” - including the eggs!! That’s a new one on me. Didn’t know eggs counted as a fruit & veg! Makes a fry up seem healthier?
Just watched Andy match. Need a lie down now. Exhausted!
Hope you enjoyed your strawberries, lashings and lashings of cream??
YD ended up not being too quiet, she had a surprise visit from friends from another city so that was just lovely:smileyhappy:, she had gone out for tea with work friends and arrived home around eight, she popped on her jammies and was about to settle down when the doorbell went…she was sooooooooo surprised, jammies off and out again haha.
She has booked another hol and will be off again next week, she spent a few days in and out of travel agents to no avail, checked online this morning and found one £200 cheaper than anyone else could offer woo hoo!!
So have been busy with travel ins, printing out docs and ordering money, now all done, whew.
ED has handed in her notice and will be a full time student in Sept, she is very excited, woo hoo.
Am staying on the “quiet” bench with a muggatea for the next few hours, still have that bug, I think it is hayfever?? Forgot to ask at docs, had the time limit of 10 mins and he spent 5 mins looking for a camera to send pic to opthamologist, didn’t want to push my luck:smileyfrustrated:, I still remember the days you could go to docs without being told its 10 mins only and when you phoned in the morning you were guaranteed an appt the same day, what happened?? xx
Too many people happened KTC. Many of whom expect to see the doctor for every little thing?! If it’s hayfever, hopefully if you keep taking the antihistamine tablets (all the supermarkets do their own brand one-a-day versions which seem to work well for most people) it should be manageable - and hopefully won’t last too long, depending on what is causing the allergic reaction.
No cream - just a weeny bit of caster sugar. Nom nom nom.
Glad YD had a good birthday. Good luck to ED for her new career!
Just been to local town to get uber expensive shoes (well known shoe maker - sounds like they should work in an office or bank!) reheeled. I’ve been carrying them to and from school for the last 6 weeks or so, trying to get around to taking them! Previous attempt saw me arrive at the shop 10 minutes after they closed!
The hot weather has brought out a barrage of brazenly inappropriate bralessness! O…M…G! I don’t know how they have the nerve. To think I scurried to the car huddled in my fleece the time I forgot my bra when I put my swimming cozzy on at home!! Not a sight for sore eyes!!
Bought a ham & egg roll and some fruit in that well known bakery and accidentally ordered a sausage roll as well. Then a bag of mini doughnuts fell into my hands too! Ah well. They’re only bite size, so hardly any calories? (she says absent mindedly eating 3) I’ll put some in the shed.
Yes, bralessness happens here too, a lot of it caused by people who probably wouldn’t dream of it when at home but because they are on on holiday and won’t see any one they know…and FAR too many people go out in public without looking in a full length mirror :smileytongue:
Thanks for the doughnuts in the shed, obviously no calories in minis and things do fall into trollies, baskets or just force you to pick them up. Happens to me all the time :smileyhappy:
Glad that YD had a good birthday and has found a great holiday. If Dr. spent 5 mins finding a camera then you still have another 5 mins to ask other questions, not your fault HE wasted 5 mins!!
Just been messing about today done some housework, read a book, watched Wimbledon etc.
Oh, and I know your shoemaker JCJ but perhaps that’s because most of mine are also from them… or if not, then from the company that is the opposite of cooler. Another one for you work out Katy…:smileyhappy:
Not bank *clerks*, KTC, but sounds like it!! I’ve not come across “a lot warmer” shoes. My other favourite brand are something environmental sounding (what ducks quacks apparently don’t do). Haha, between us, FF, we have fried Katy’s brain!
Guy in cobblers is going to cut worn down heel away from rest of sole (they’re flat shoes) and replace it with a new rubber heel. On both shoes. For £5.75. I’m pleased because the shoes were over £100 new (a seemingly ridiculous extravagance, but I knew, being leather, they’d last, and comfort was important; I bought them when I was having trouble with my feet!) and now they should be good for a few more years! I wore my last “not Clerks” shoes for over 10 years - £12.50 a year doesn’t seem so bad?!
Mini doughnuts disappointing. They’re very dry - overcooked? It hasn’t stopped me eating nearly all of them though! After all, they’ll be even drier when stale?
Dinner is roast chicken, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, roast beetroot, cabbage in white wine vinegar, peas, Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy, followed by damson ginger sponge and custard (or more likely, ice cream as it’s *****y hot in the kitchen and I may not be ***ed to make custard - even the cheats kind!! (tweeting creatures’! sorry KTC, another one for you! :p))
I’m on my way for dinner JCJ and then will pop up to Katy’s for some cold and rain! 26 degrees in my living room, humidifier on. Please rain…
My other favourite shoe people (in the same expensive range) are " a New York Island prison" but spelt differently. Try that one for size :smileytongue: Google could be your friend?? :smileyhappy: Only teasing peeps but I do like their shoes. I buy a pair, wear them to the death and then get another. I am not Imelda Marcos with many shoes but I think if you pay good money for well fitting shoes, you are doing your feet a favour. £100 for a year’s wear = 28p a day. Cheap.
Daughter and GD’s popped in today. Haven’t seen No. 2 GD for a while so nice to catch up on what’s going on in her world. No tennis, I had withdrawal symptoms. Found the Anniversary Games so watched that. Scared for Mo Farah at the World Championships next month. They are his last ever runs on the track and I’d hate his last ones not to be wins. I won’t be able to watch!
