Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

Snaps of Purdie?..I’ll need an extra suitcase!  I’ll bring the tablet, hoping to learn new things.

Daughter called in today with GD, who was sooooo tired after making pizza at pre-school and having it for lunch.

And why does Purdie think a good place to sit is on the wet washing that is waiting it’s turn on the radiator?

Milder here but lots of rain and more rain forecast for tomorrow. Lanes on the way to school are awash and the usual potholes have all opened up again, it’s like a slalom course to avoid them.  I’m talking potholes of two feet across and one foot deep.  Serious damage to your car if you hit them!  Council fills them in every year and the rain just washes them out again!

Mammogram last Tuesday…told 2-3 weeks for results…letter came today!  I had a small panic…then just opened it and …normal!  Recall in three years.

NORMAL!! Hooray! Paaaarty time!

No snow just a bit of sleet. Had to scrape the car windscreen but the roads were ok. Phew! Strong winds forecast for tonight.

Woo hoo FF, bestest news ever:smileyhappy:!!! Creme egg coming your way, though you know we do have a problem with the normal tag??? We have met you hahaha!!

Have been hibernating today, very cold and pavements are a sheet of ice, not worth venturing out at all, brrrrrrrrr.

Had GS, he has been wild, running round and round the sofas as fast as he can, had to play crying spider for hours, (the one that was lost, now found) played hide and seek and did lots of cleaning, was tired yesterday am exhausted today haha.

Feet up for the rest of the day/night.

Where are you swimming JCJ??

Another hurrah for FF xx

I said the mammo was normal, I never said I was :smileyhappy:

Hahahaha KTC, are you being funny or can you really not remember that I’m swimming in that place you went on holiday when you didn’t know where you were?! Loch Lomond. It was a bit less overcrowded tonight, but I still had to weave in and out and swim 1/2 lengths at times.

Got lots of bods in school tomorrow “reviewing” our progress (ie an inspection?!) but I’m determined not to stress about it. I shall do my job the the best of my ability, as always, and if they don’t like it they can …!!

I think I hit a massive pothole on my way back from swimming, just outside our village. The whole car twitched, there was a big bang and I nearly lost control of the steering. Too dark to be any point in going back to see what it was. Drove the rest of the way home without anything odd, so hopefully, it’s not done any damage.

Right. Must dry my hair - if I can summon the strength to lift the hair dryer! :open_mouth:

Hee hee, am worrying that I will never find you for “after party”:smileyhappy:

Hope all went well with your watchers, you don’t have to care so much about you as an individual this year.

We are superly cold again, heavy snow yesterday, which thankfully disappeared by the time I had to leave.

My phone would not work yesterday grrrrrrr, tried lots of things, YD was home by the time I arrived back and she managed to get it going, hurrah!! Have noted down some numbers, before you knew them of by heart, no longer I’m afraid…

Is catio building on for this weekend FF?? xx

Not building yet Katy.  With Mr. Sensible (SIL) on the job things take longer…but end up much better! :smileyhappy:   Wood needed has been priced up (cheaper than I thought) but a relative of DIL could get me a discount as he works at the sawmill but he’s on holiday!  Waiting…there’s no rush and the weather forecast for tomorrow is awful.  Rain, rain, and more rain.

I’ve had a quiet day in today mostly on the reading bench.  Lovely.  I need to visit the supermarket tomorrow, running out of bread and milk and other basics.  I will try to avoid the creme eggs but maybe one won’t hurt…

Had a quiet day on the reading, knitting and watching snooker benches. OH has man flu so it’s like walking on eggshells. I hate to imagine how many times I’ve innocently caused mortal offence today!!

“Not an Inspection”, yesterday,  seems to have gone OK. My personal feedback was very good, but was then ruined by him saying how much my “practice has improved” since last time. I honestly don’t know how I refrained from a) swearing at him, b) punching him in the face (and I’m NOT normally a violent person!) or c) both. His implication was that I used to be sh** but his superior support has made me excellent. Arrrghhh! What has actually occurred is that I continue to work as I always have done, for NEARLY TWENTY YEARS and he’s no longer looking for scapegoats, but rather looking to prove how supportive he’s been: how he’s “turned the school around”. Oh, how I hate the politics of education these days. Roll on retirement! (If that didn’t involve spending more time on eggshells?! :expressionless:

Tried to go for a walk around the local streets tonight as I felt I needed a breath of fresh air and some exercise, having sat about all day. Took a few steps, realised it was icy, and returned to the house! No point in risking falling on my a***?!

Last night, while I was - briefly - outside, I met a man walking his dog. He was wearing shorts, a thin fleece top and bare feet inside canvas shoes. It was freezing. Literally. The road and pavement were glittering with frost and ice!! BRRRR! Then he spoke to me. He had a heavy Scottish accent! Ah. That explains it - he probably thought it was summer?! (No offence meant, KTC!!)

I’m still chomping my way through the chocs I acquired at Christmas, (perks of working in a school!) so no need for kamikaze creme eggs or other chocolate based confectionery. Yet. The  assorted Lindor won’t last much longer though, and I’m down to the last Beau Jangles (never heard of them before, but they’re yummy!) All the delicious chocolate filled wafer tubes have all gone too. NOOOOO! Ah well, we’ve still got some Christmas cake left.

The fire is blazing and the snooker will be on in a minute. Time to put feet up and enjoy. OH beginning to feel a bit better so he’s not so grumpy either.

That man obviously did a super, duper job last year, what a hero…

More like what a twit, must be nice to congratulate oneself, over and over with each member of staff???

At least you are fine this year and you don’t have to think about his comments, they literally mean nothing to you!

Yes, us Scots are brave, facing the weather, hahaha this one is not, haha:smileyhappy: Have been freezing all day, and when I do venture out have twenty layers of clothing on, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Plenty of time for building FF, will you be wielding a hammer or will you be tea maker?

Lazy day here hurrah, spoke to Mum this morning and the difference was incredible, am hoping this is the start, fingers crossed, just nice to have a day where I am not stressed to the hilt!

Been snowing on and off all day here and the waterway is frozen again, batten down the hatches!

What’s for dinner tonight JCJ? xx

Phew! Glad Mum’s improving, Katy.

Dinner is roast lamb, roasties, Yorkshire pudding, roast parsnips, crispy kale, sprouts, carrots and gravy, followed by chocolate orange pudding with ice cream and/or frozen yoghurt.

How wonderful that the man has supported you to become so much better at your job.  You owe him so much…actually you owe him option c) !!  What a jobsworth!

Lovely dinner , thank you very much.  Not a lot happened here today…Son and family did not come over as two of the GC have a sickness bug.  So more sitting on the reading bench, after braving the rain to go to the supermarket. Avoided the creme eggs but a doughnut fell in the trolley. I saw it going in…and took no avoiding action at all :smileyembarrassed:

Also glad that Mum is better Katy so you can stop worrying so much.  I will definitely be the tea maker, let the boys wield the hammers…

Purdie had to go back to the vets today for a check up after her op. Waste of time, nurse just looked at the wound and said " that’s healing nicely".  I could have told her that :smileyhappy:  But I did find out why Purdie took her liquid painkiller medicine so eagerly…it contained honey!

Hurrah for Purdie and her Mum:smileyhappy:!

Don’t like honey at all…

All the snow and ice has gone, thank goodness, tricky walking, so now it’s heavy rain, you can’t win!!

Into town later for bits and bobs, hoping rain disappears by that time.

Oh my tried so hard to run past the eggs yesterday, it didn’t work, came home and there were TWO, what???

How did that happen?

ED had something done to her face yesterday, she loves it, skin looks fresh and healthy, think I should do it too, necks can be done as well:smileyhappy:, we’ll see, haha.

YD had some very bad news yesterday, one of her friends has been diagnosed, not BC, she has been given two years, really shocked:smileysad:

Oops thank you for dinner JCJ, yummy yum, hope OH is better and not grumpy now.

Muggacoffee and toast on the menu asap xx and maybe one of those eggs xx

I don’t like honey either…but Purdie evidently does.

Terrible news about YD’s friend, she must be young…

Not a lot going on down here, been to town to Library today, popped into pet shop for various necessities. Weather mild and drizzly.

Watching blue tennis , in the absence of Andy…go Kyle!

I like honey. That on toast was my go to meal when I was ill with the gallstones. You must keep some in for if ever Purdie needs medicine?

So sorry to hear about YD’s friend, KTC. What a **** disease cancer is. :frowning:

I had an amusing anecdote I wanted to share with you, but I’ve forgotten what it was! Hey ho! Away those marblesles go?!

Supermarket shop tonight, after a busy day at school, so I’m cream crackered (but not creme egged! - although some crumpets did find their way into my trolley!)

Wait! Wait! I remembered! I read on Twitter (other ways to lose hours of your life are readily available) that some contestants in the camel beauty contest in Saudi Arabia were disqualified for using Botox!! Is that why Dink’s been looking permanently surprised?

Every night I lock up the school annex put the keys into the key safe and then hide the key to the key safe, (not telling you where!)  Easy peasy…tonight I got home from school and found the keys to the annex in my coat pocket!  Oh s***!..Purdie was quite surprised to be shut in again when I’d just let her out.  Had to take them back, a 25 minute round trip so teachers can open the annex and get their coffee fix in the morning.

I have had a lightbulb moment tonight,  wondered if I could get the old cat litter on-line as Purdie not really liking  the new one?  YES… I can, two large bags ordered to be picked up on Sunday from local store.  YAY!  So two questions:

1)  Why did it take me nearly two weeks to think of that?  AND

2)  Why am I so concerned about cat litter?  AND… actually three questions

3)   Am I turning into crazy cat lady?

Oh dear…

Aah ha JCJ, so that’s dinks secret, what’s she like???

Oh FF, how annoying backwards, forwards…forwards, backwards…

At least you now have new, well old kitty litter, still laugh every time I think of Purdie eating it hahaha.

Went for a walk with GS this morning, bought a cake and a toy car, cake scoffed and car played with, he’s having a nap just now we were away for 2 hours, can’t believe we were that long, no wonder he’s tired.

Going up again to check Mum, she sounds great on the phone but she doesn’t look so great in person, may have to see about carer etc, will speak to her about it all tomorrow as I don’t want to set the ball in motion without her knowledge:smileysad: xx

Daughter popped over today, we’ve both had various bugs so have kept away.  Now we’re all better, so a good catch up on the gossip.

Plans made for the weekend, some shopping…a birthday tea ( youngest GS 12 on Sunday)  cake in the shed for you all.

School nice and tidy, keys left in the proper place (won’t make that mistake again!).
