Hope you arrived home safe and sound JCJ:smileyhappy: and enjoyed your time away.
Have had a busy day, lots going on with Mum, am hoping it is finally sorted, know I’ve said it before, this time surely???
Passed chippie on way home just had to go in…bad behaviour or what?
Am off to bed soon, had to laugh today, everyone was saying we are due a heatwave next week, in the next breath, that’ll be our summer then?? tee hee xx
Got home before 12pm yesterday - earliest we’ve ever got back from holiday - so much for buying sandwiches for the journey! Ate them at home. Weather was vile so we didn’t bother stopping to explore anywhere on the way home.
Weather is a million degrees warmer today, and sunny! Of course! Grrrrrr! Sooo annoying when last week was so cold and damp.
Been to a big garden centre today so OH could get some plants for the volunteer allotment. We had intended to have lunch there but it was packed and I just couldn’t face all those PEOPLE, and faffing about queuing to serve ourselves so we went to our local farm shop café instead. Toastie and cuppa in relative peace.
On the “CBA” bench today:smileyhappy:, all day… haha.
Sunshine here but very windy so still cold but really nice not to see grey skies, woo hoo!
Friends recommended programme that was on a few weeks ago about BC, oh my tears streaming down my face, must admit was reluctant to watch, never think your brain will recover emotionally so usually do avoidance tactics.
Out Mon muggachoc and Tues muggatea no cakes allowed, haha.
Am gonna have to pull ironing board and iron out sometime this week, too much or what?? xx
I was hoping that catio would be finished today but Mother Nature intervened and sent lots of rain that delayed the start of work until 3pm. Son and SIL didn’t stop until 7pm so 95% of it is done now and Son is hopefully
going to come one evening this week to finish it.
Nice to see you Grumpy. We missed you, hope your joint problems are resolved by the physio and good luck with climbing Helvellyn!
Back to school tomorrow, only teachers in so hopefully not too much mess. Children back on Tuesday so normal service resumed then.
We’ll I survived the first day! Usual manic Monday. You’d think I’d have more patience after 2 weeks off, but I really struggled today. Children! Such a shock to the system!
Collected my Tapoxyfen prescription on the way home from work. So annoyed. Government have stopped the automatic repeat prescription service, so now I’ll have to schlep to the doctor’s surgery at least 2 days before I need it and then again to pick it up. It was so convenient to just be given a date to go and collect it from the chemist. Mind you, I have got about 3 months worth stockpiled, (30 in a packet, issued every 28 days, that builds up over 6 years - and I had to have 4 weeks off them for gallstone op) so I won’t have to bother for a while! Pharmacist said something about ordering a repeat prescription online so I might look into that to see if it saves some faff.
We have here a repeat prescription line at doctors, you order meds needed over the phone, then either pick up prescription from surgery or collect at chemists. Does yours just go directly to chemist without you contacting surgery?
Glad day was reasonable, our kids are back tomorrow…
Had my muggachoc and the tiny biscuit that you have to ask for now…
Did a little shopping then home. Have 101 things to do tomorrow, so may have to go superly early into town and then back in again later, will see. Decided to make day even messier by having haircut as well. Don’t know what I was thinking??
Am absolutely starving tonight, must have been cause I missed dinner last night at yours JCJ!!
Glad your catio is almost finished FF, you will just have to acquire decorating materials now xx
We just go the shoes chemist, they get the repeat scrip from the health centre, then I collect the meds 2 days later. The chemist tells me if I need to see the GP for review.
Said GP is in the local am dram. One part he had was a Wicked Witch with BLACK FALSE NAILS. No way is he coming near my chest ever again… and he did the local fun run in a pink tutu, supporting BCC, then did afternoon surgery IN THE TUTU! Yes, we are all bonkers in this village.
I’ll put up a photo of the Duchess in her trolley soon - she loves it cos she is centre of attention. ASBO Jo leaps about saying me too, me too.
Chemist (Welsh sounding name - as in …George knew my father) next door to doctors surgery. They keep repeat prescription and deliver it to doctors for signing 2 days before the month is up so the meds are ready for me to collect from chemist on the day they tell me. Simples. Sounds like the same as your system, Grumpy, and this is now, apparently no longer legal. I have to take prescription myself to docs or order it online/by phone. I can then collect meds from either chemist or surgery - have to say which when handing in prescription. I choose chemist because it’s open longer hours than dispensary in surgery. I suppose it stops meds being prescribed that are no longer needed, and stops people stockpiling them but I am sure the main reason is to save money!
Right, should be sleeping. Got to get up at silly o’clock.
Sunday dinner was roast pork, apple sauce, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, roasties, cauliflower, cabbage, smashed roots, peas and gravy followed by home made gooseberry crumble (OH) or (bought) blackcurrant & apple slice (Me - I don’t like goosegogs but there were some in the freezer that needed using!) and custard.
I used the leftovers in a chilli noodle stir fry tonight but there’s still some in the shed for you all.
Son was going to come over tonight to finish catio but it’s p**sing down… er… I mean raining heavily. So he’s coming tomorrow evening, no rain forecast as it’s the start of the heatwave we’re promised.
I have a prescription to collect from chemist tomorrow after putting repeat prescription in the box at the Drs. surgery on Monday… Prescription will come attached when I collect and I will put it into said box next month and then collect again. Simples. Although they are trying to get us to do it online, I’m resisting, the old tried and true method is good enough for me.
School…glitter all over the place! Really, first day of term and they’ve got glitter out? Just NO!
Lovely weather has arrived. I’ve just sat in the garden eating a choc ice when I got home from school. Now following it with a mugatea. Why wasn’t it like this last week? We were freezing our t er… extremities off last Thursday, in Matlock! Grrrr!
My car said it was 31° as I drove home! It wasn’t even 13° last week! Bonkers! I’ll get my sandals out at the weekend. That should fix it?!
We had lovely sunshine for around 1/2 an hour, then **bleep** clouds, sun reappeared for another 1/2 hour and that was that, choc ice?? am seriously thinking about putting heating on…
Did open windows and had to close them rapidly, teeth chattering haha.
It states on phone that it is 17 degrees but there is no way I’m believing that.
Just purchased 2 pairs of leggings for plane, thought they would be so comfy, but really should I have?? My tummy has def a mind of it’s own (never bother that I consumed 400 creme eggs) also purchased 2 tunic tops that should cover any lumpy, bumpy bits, we’ll see as all ordered online.
Went for a long walk with GS who also never stops talking, was thinking how do they manage in ED’s home??
All that talking so that’s ED, GD and GS aaaargh haha. Who has first or last words and how do you follow a conversation when everyone talks at once.
Was chatting to someone yesterday who also loves Norcambe, she had not been to Rita’s though xx
Son over last night, last staples knocked in by torchlight but the catio is now completed and secure. Today I’ve had the back door open but Purdie has not ventured out until tonight when I sat on the back step and she dared to join me for two minutes until she went back indoors into safety. Do I call her a wussy cat? Or is the outdoors a very scary place?
Made it to the end of the first week of the summer term. On the K bench. Had to cover After School Club tonight. It was such a beautiful afternoon and the kids played happily outside apart from a couple who played cards with me, so it didn’t feel like work and it’s nothing like such a hardship to stay later when it’s still light - and sunny! - when I leave. Stopped at chippy on the way home.
OH is starting to pester me to go part time. Although I sometimes feel a bit jealous when part time colleagues leave at lunchtime, I suddenly realised that I’m not ready to take that step yet. After all, I’ve only just taken a big step down in responsibility. Perhaps I’ll reduce my hours slightly next year. Certainly not ready to be at home with *him* all the time. I’d probably spend most of the time on the MOHIAB bench?! I was looking forward to retiring; hate getting up in the morning, but I’d really miss lots of aspects of my job. Not ready to give it up yet - or lose my car!
What’s the betting the weather will c*** out now it’s the weekend?
Am joining you on the K bench JCJ, have been spring cleaning, it started out as a good idea but have been sorting and cleaning and tidying for aaaaages now. One job leads to another, then another…
Glad you have sorted in your own head about retiring, if you are not ready, you are not ready, haha. The biggest step was the reduction in responsibilty, as you say you can think about hours next year, it’s up to you, and what makes you happy etc.
FF are you trying to tell us the catio is really for you???
Knew it:smileyhappy:
Have been also checking travel insurance and it has now reduced dramatically, woo hoo, am insured for everything even my chariot disappearing… price great. Am sooooooooo pleased, for the first 5 years after bc with other things etc was either uninsurable or prices were ridiculous, happy, happy.
Pondering over dinner tonight, not hungry at the moment cause decided to eat lemon drizzle cake and mussels in that order so am full for the moment xx
Oops nearly forgot, we have sunshine, prob best day so far xx
Did you see me, in my donkey onesie and tiara running the London Marathon?
By the magic of virtuality, I did the ironing at the same time. Exhausted now! Will need a good rest before getting the dinner: lamb (lean breast joint, so I’m going to risk it! :)) roasties, roast parsnips, carrots, broccoli, green beans, Yorkshire pudding, gravy and mint sauce, followed by lemon tart (S********'s finest), blackberries and frozen yogurt. There you go, KTC, you won’t need to go hungry this week!
Stripped my bed and swapped the duvet for the summer one (cue frosty nights?!) Checked weather forecast because we’d just had a rain shower. No more rain forecast. Peg washing out and then immediately unpeg it all and bring it back in as the rain started. Rain stopped as soon as I’d hung it all on the airer. Grrrr. It’s staying where it is! I’m on the CBA bench. Glad I didn’t hang winter duvet outside to air before putting it away. Will wait for a better day!
Calm down Katy! Just because the sun appears for 5 minutes doesn’t mean you have to “bottom” your house!! You’ll exhaust yourself. Sit down. Have a mugatea and a creme egg.
Confession time…you are not exhausted from ironing and the running…think it maybe because I was on your back (remember Mary??), am so sorry:smileysad:
Dinner sounds good, will just hide in the shed tonight, don’t want to enrage you.
Well, lovely day yesterday, cold and rainy today, have had the heating on.
Did have muggatea, no creme eggs now so a bag of choc peanuts did the job:smileyhappy:
Spring clean over hurrah, am pleased have boxes for shoes and storage for odds and ends. So very tidy cupboards. Searched for my hammer for aaaaages and eventually found it in the place where all tools are kept, why didn’t I remember that??? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
