Katy, just wow to your ED, passed with an A! Well done to her,
Purdie is back to her normal self, still on the meds though, Told to give them until the bottle is empty. I’m the one still stressed about how to cause her less stress :smileyfrustrated:
SIL took me to school tonight and returned me home. Transit van, higher up and not driving, I was able to see so many more lovely views of the countryside.
SIL giving me the lifts because Daughter had taken GD to hospital about a really painful toe. X-ray shows the bone to be bigger than it should be. MRI to be done,we now await results from that.
Washing hung out again today and is now dry and ready to put away.
Oh FF, how old is GD and have they given any idea of what it could be?
Fingers crossed for her.
Glad Purdie is back to normal:smileyhappy:
Am off to park soon with ED and GS, not sunny here today, then home to help YD pack, world’s worst honestly…everything is left to last moment. Am the complete opposite of her haha. I’m totally organised and she’s not, not even close!!
Oven seal has broken, has been ordered and will be fixed sometime next week, hurrah.
Holiday is drawing closer am getting super excited already:smileyhappy:! xx
GD is 13 years old and has had this painful toe on and off for a couple of years… Went to to the docs a year ago referred to hospital but it wasn’t hurting then and X-ray showed nothing. Podiatrist consulted and no idea forthcoming.
Now it’s at the point where pain is waking her up in the middle of the night. So hospital appt. this week, X-ray shows bone too big, so the MRI ordered. No suggestions from Dr. yet as to what it might be. So we wait…and GD takes paracetamol.
Purdie has fully recovered from the cystitis, thank goodness. Last night there was another drama. My fault. I forgot to put the cat treats back in the cupboard. Purdie found them in the middle of the night, managed to get off the clip that held them closed (how?) and ate as many as she could (didn’t eat them all as at least half the packet were still on the sofa).
This morning I’ve got a kitten that doesn’t want any breakfast or lunch and is just lying on a chair. If she’d been human I couldv’e heard her groaning “I feel sick, I’ve eaten a whole box of chocolates” . 3.30pm today she ate her breakfast and tonight she’s her normal self. Treats back in the cupboard, I won’t do that again!
Son hoping that the part needed for his car will arrive early tomorrow and be fitted by 4pm. If it is he’ll be going on holiday in his car and I’ll get mine back. If not he’ll be going in my car and I won’t get it back until Tuesday.
I hope whatever the problem with GD’s toe turns out to be, that they can fix it, or at least make her more comfortable, FF. (Terrible grammar there but CBA to fix it!)
Hehehe. I wonder if Purdie has learnt a lesson there? I wonder if she’ll fancy those treats again? (Much like I can never drink cider!! )
I’ve had a stressful week at school. I got asked, on Wednesday of last week, to take notes for an ''investigation". Can’t go into details - confidential - but it’s not been an enjoyable experience and I’ve had to spend hours frantically scribbling notes and then typing everything up. They have given me the time in school, and it’s lucky that SATs are over so I can be released from class. I have been way out of my comfort zone, but I think it’s done now, and I’m glad I’m not the one who needs to make any decisions!
Needed the de-stressing swim tonight, although it was a bit annoying as the swim&chatters kept GETTING IN MY WAY. Grrrr! I was last out of the pool - had the last 5 minutes to myself - and all the pool staff were male tonight and I knew they’d be waiting for me to go so they could clean the ladies changing room. Hurrying to get dressed, I didn’t bother to put my bra on. Baggy t-shirt. Rain coat - because rain was forecast. It’ll be fine. Only got to drive home. Got in the car and my petrol warning light came on. “I’ll just pop in to the garage on the way home” - half way there: thinks of floodlit forecourt “Nooo! That’s not happening!,” Petrol will have to wait until on my way home from work tomorrow. It says I’ve got 30 miles left. It’s only 5 miles each way to work. It’ll be fine. I hope. Though the guage dropped from 50 left to 30 left in the space of 5 miles. At least if I run out of petrol on my way home tomorrow, I won’t have to walk to the garage with my boobs around my knees!! :smileyembarrassed: (new meaning of "knee highs?)
Is your YD packing for moving or holiday, Katy?
One more get up and then a week off. I can do this.
Mr car is now on holiday in Cornwall, I hope it enjoys itself. How dare it go to Cornwall without me! Son joked that it wasn’t big enough to get all the camping equipment in and they’d had to pare things down. I reminded him that he was lucky to have a car to go on holiday in and he shouldn’t look a gift car in the bonnet as it were.:smileyhappy: Things haven’t gone to plan but they never do, do they? I know they are grateful. AND i expect a good Xmas pressie :smileywink:
Crossing my fingers that I will have my car back Tuesday or Wednesday… Another walk up to town tomorrow to the Library.
I know that exercise is good for me but my right hip seems to complain about it. I first noticed it while mooching about with friends last Bank Holiday and again when I walked up to town on Weds. Will see what happens tomorrow.
Offered Purdie a treat to get her into the house, she was straight there and ate it with gusto. Obviously not put off!.
Hope you managed to get there and back, suitably attired of course, ballgown would not go amiss:smileyhappy:
Mmmmm investigations…would not be comfortable either…
WHAT??? FF your car is on holiday, that’s a complete liberty, how dare it go off without you!
Glad Purdie is still enjoying her treats and is well.
Been a funny week of ups and downs, all have worked themselves out, so week has ended full of good news, hurrah. Still no word about ED, should def be next week, report has to go back to consultant so logically it’s not going to take 4 days:smileyfrustrated:
It’s a holiday JCJ, packing is going well and only a few things to put in case, then the weigh in, she packs like she is off for a year…
Have GD today also for a sleepover, she is really no bother now as she is wrapped up in phone all the time only pausing to eat, will make her go out for a walk later without said phone haha xx
More than likely Katy, a touch of something definitely :smileysad:
Walked to town again today. same problem but my back decided to join in too so I sat on a convenient bench, it was a wet bench as it had been raining but I didn’t care by then, I just HAD to sit down. I was just sitting there with my old lady shopping trolley, feeling sorry for myself and Garth Brookes song “I’m much too young to feel this damn old” started up in my brain.
Got home, put shopping away, muggatea, short rest, dug out his cd put it on and cheered up, music always cheers me up, segued into a “best of the sixties” cd and was dancing around the living room.
It’s warm, dark gray clouds and humid down here, thunderstorms predicted.
Woo hoo for dancing round the living room FF, beats dancing around your handbag hahaha.
Oh my, my head is spinning…GD…honestly my brain is/was zonked, talking, talking not taking a breath talking, non stop…what’s she like???
We had a good time, short visit to see Mum, then we went to shops near here where she bought a fountain pen, 59p she kept asking if that was ok as it was my pennies being spent, she didn’t blink twice when the milkshake purchased cost around 6 times more than fountain pen haha. Concept?? not really:smileyhappy:
YD is off, all packing successful, though she did have to take some things out of case as it was over weight limit.
Soooooooooo am enjoying the silence, what’s for dinner tonight JCJ, please??? xx
Dinner is roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roasties, braised root vegetables, broccoli, green beans and gravy followed by home-made apple pie and ice cream.
Camping with a Fiesta. YD and I do it every year, but just 2 of us - not a family - and I take less than when we go in the bigger car! I hope yours has a nice holiday and comes back well behaved, FF! Fingers crossed their car gets fixed very soon.
Enjoy the quiet, KTC. Lovely to see them. Lovely to see them go?!
It’s been so warm and humid here today. Lightning storms last night and heavy rain, but, bizarrely, no thunder! Thundery showers this afternoon, with some spectacular lightning. Met office amber warning come to nothing here though.
Oooh that really is my favourite dinner ever, thank you so much JCJ.
I could tell it had rained last night as the garden was wet, whether we had any thunder or lightning is anyone’s guess. I was asleep! It’s not nice here now, cloudy, hot and humid. I’ve stripped off the t-shirt and am just wearing my underwear, not a pretty sight but at least a little bit cooler!
Just been watching the orange tennis and reading, not a lot going on here.
No rain or thunderstorms here, just sunshine and more sunshine, all windows are open, it’s lovely.
We have decided to order a taxi to and from airport because parking and petrol will almost cost as much, it’s also a tight squeeze with chariot, buggy, suitcases etc so to make life a lot easier am going to phone around tonight for costs, have already had a sneaky look with google so know how much it will be, will see if anyone can beat/match cheapest.
All bedding washed today and have hoovered so am on the " I have a halo" bench.
Am just about to move to the “CBA” bench…
ED arrived safely albeit 2 hours later than expected, all fine though. xx
Joyously took tea and toast back to bed this morning, because I can! Finally resurfaced around 11am. We went to a little local garden centre for a sandwich lunch and to get some bedding plants for the tubs. The plants were quite expensive and they didn’t have much in the purple/blue and white I wanted for the tubs at the front of the house. Thought about calling in at a garage that has 1000s of plants, but it’s on the A5, on a Bank Holiday. Give that a miss! I’ll call in tomorrow after I’ve been to visit *that* mirror to get my tangles trimmed.
Spent the afternoon ripping up a wheelie-bin-load of ground elder. I was glad when the bin was full. Forced to stop and drink tea/eat cake (blackcurrant jam & cream sponge - delicious, if I do say so myself!)
D-I-L made a gate today. YD sent me a photo. So impressed! It looks like a really professional job. Hidden talents! One way of spending your 1st wedding anniversary?!
Was out and about today:smileyhappy:, met up with friends for a muggatea and fancy cake, so fancy, I had to have a very light dinner tonight haha.
We have booked table for July cause of hols etc that’s the next time we will all be free…
Been really hot here again, whew, not complaining though as we seemed to have a very long cold winter/spring.
Cream I received for crusty things has not made any difference so have made another appt at docs am really hoping I don’t get referred to Dermatology. Dr Googled today and found exactly what they are so am hoping it will be an easy fix.
Ah. P***ing it down today. That puts paid to my gardening plans. *Stays in bed until 11am*
Onc appointment is 2nd July, Katy. I thought it was in June, as usual, and remembered 2nd, then when I looked (because 2nd June is a Saturday!) I realised my mistake.
Probably should start on the miriad of jobs that need doing in the house. *Settles into CBA bench* *picks up Kindle and knitting*.
Went to docs about skin condition and it is what I Dr Googled, so that’s ok just watch for changes etc.
Had a mark on my leg which I showed him, (forgot last time) and it may not be good:smileysad:, have been given a steroid cream, if it doesn’t improve with this cream in 2 weeks there is a strong likelihood it’s cancer, he said the name but was so taken aback I actually can’t remember, something to do with veins…where are your marbles when you need them?? So am feeling a bit stunned, had pictures taken too for referral if needed. So hoping it clears asap, just needed to blurt tonight, more fingers and toes crossed please.
So many are crossed now will be very difficult to actually do anything haha xx
Whoa, Try to rein in your imagination Katy. Difficult I know. The chances are the steroid cream will do it’s job. I have my fingers/toes/arms/legs crossed… by now I can’t move… …
I think sometimes the Drs. give us too much information. 30 years or so ago I had a mole on my leg that I’d had for years that suddenly went a bit funny. I went to the Drs. and was soon in hospital having it removed and tested. Obvious now what they were thinking but I never knew and so didn’t worry.
Rained on and off here most of the day, decided that what I needed in town could wait until tomorrow. Only hope that it’s not raining more heavily tomorrow.
Arriving for shoulder duty. Blart away (no, tablet, no “barf” - that’s something else entirely!) Have a good cry. It’s good to get all that shock out of your system. Then STOP worrying. Apply the cream. And if the worst comes to the worst, you’ll have that odd bit of skin removed and be treated appropriately. My next door neighbour has had various bits of his face removed - over the 34 years we’ve known him. You can’t tell. He’s 86, has diabetes, skin cancer and a heart condition but he’s fitter and cheerier than I am most of the time!
Saw your post just as I was leaving for swimming, Katy. Then I angry swam and managed 72 lengths! Not angry at you, obviously, but at yet more worry for you. I think the lifesaver thought I was winking, repeatedly, at her because every time I swam past her (in one of those high seats like a tennis umpire), on my back, for thetlast 10 lengths or so, I managed to splash water in my eye and had to blink it out. Of course, the more self conscious I became about it, the more I splashed! :smileyembarrassed:
I’ve got just a weeny bit over 4 miles left. ETA 9pm in 4 weeks time. According to the map on the swimfit website I shall be arriving at the Sea Life Centre. In one of the tanks??!! That’ll give the visitors a surprise?! I hope there are no sharks or stingrays! :mansurprised:
In my car, before driving home, I decided to have a couple of my “Senior Moment” mints - the ones you bought us, FF. It took me nearly 5 minutes to realise I was attempting to open the tin on the wrong edge. “Senior Moment” indeed. Had those mints 10 months. Opened the tin successfully loads of times.
You really are good, especially winking at everyone hahaha.
Thank you FF and JCJ, hugs to you both.
Am thinking, well hoping doc was being a “Drama Queen”, it wasn’t a skin cancer but something to do with the veins underneath making this mark. Showed ED and she said “Mother why didn’t you say and why didn’t you show me, that’s not normal” Wasn’t sure if she meant me or the mark haha. Have not cried at all just had a bit of a sinking feeling.
Went into town superly early, have everything needed, hurrah, man is conimg to fix cooker seal this afternoon, then am planning to chill, do nothing whatsoever.
Thinking news will not be drastic regarding ED now as am sure she would have been contacted sooner, a relief indeed xx finger and toe crossing obviously works girls xx
