I’m brand new to this forum and very hesitant. I realize this is “mostly” UK, and I’m from US, but the forum seems to be so supportive. If I’m in the wrong forum, please say. I recently got a breast cancer dx and am scared out of my mind! I’ve done the surgery to remove the mass and healing…waiting for next steps. I have such a nervous stomach that I chickened out of my follow up and rescheduled them. I have to drive hours to the facility as I live in a rural area. I’m so depressed most days that I can hardly function. I started antidepressants. I read suggestions for therapy but can barely make myself get off couch. So, here I am…
Hi, I don’t think it matters where you are from, cancer hits us all and you are very welcome here. I had a single mastectomy and lymph node clearance in July, I’m currently waiting to start radiotherapy. I remember the early days of stress, anxiety and hopelessness but I promise you, it does pass. Please try and do everything you can to attend your appointments because the process is there to support you and ensure you understand what’s happening to you. Without that it is too easy to sink into believing the worst case scenario. This forum is so supportive but please take all the help that is available to you.
Hiya, i wouldn’t think it matters where you are, im scottish and live in southern ireland and found this forum. I was too chilled about my diagnosis until i started chemo and TBH had a huge reality check. Keep chatting on this forum, the ladies here are so supportive x
Thank you. I haven’t started chemo yet, but have been told I will have chemo, radiation, and follow up hormone suppressor pills for years. I’m terrified of needles and even tge thought of drawing blood sends me into panic. I’m scared of every test finding something more. I’m considering denying tx but know that’s a bad idea. Anyone have calming words?
