Hi all. Good week here 8/20. No se’s as yet. Almost 50% of the way there. See what next week brings.
Jem. Glad your picking up from session 2 and getting your energy back.
Sally great on no se’s. When is your next session next week?
Have a great weekend all and into another week we all go. X
That’s a bummer Feenix. Even if go decide against reconstruction, you can always look at it at a later date.
Feenix - sorry not better news . Discuss reconstruction or not with the surgeon and bcn, mine went through all the positives and negatives of all options. As Sally said you can have reconstruction later. I had immediate ld flap reconstruction - it’s looking good though- friends ask me to remind them which side as you can’t tell!
Let us know how tomorrow goes. We’re all here.
Sally - saw on chemo thread you’d had bone pain - how are you doing?
Gill 9✅ Amazing.
I’ doing okish, cycle 2 hit my emotional state hard- wasn’t prepared for this and hit a low yesterday?. However went on look good feel better course today - was good to smile and chat with others who are going through same rubbish. Here’s hoping weeks 2 and 3 will be kinder than week 1.
Hi Jem,
It was one day on Saturday then back to nothing. Bizarre that’s still the only side effect I’ve had. Cycle 2 on Friday, let’s hope it stays that way.
I had no recon Feenix ( not through choice it has to be said) and the OP and recovery was so easy. I went back to work just over two weeks later.
Feenix thanks- watched footie and helped to lift my mood ?.
Sorry re masectomy - unfortunately many of us (Sally, Gill, myself) and many others been there. Just decide re recon what works for you. We’re with you all the way. Take care, big hugs?
Hi ladies hope all going ok with you. Feenix sorry the news wasn’t as good as hoping and back on the waiting carousel again. We are all clocking up the hospital hours between us. Sally hope all goes well for you again Friday and number 2 will be out of the way. I’m number 10 today. The numbers are ticking off nicely. Just starting to change colour a tiny little bit. So glad I went for late afternoon appointments as parking and waiting time is nil. Last nights was 18:00 and hubby in a panic he may miss the footy lol but was back for 18:20 so panic over. But it was on in the clinic. Jem hope you are picking up now after number 2?
Have a great day all and speak soon.
Hi lovely ladies, how are we all?
Looks like I’ll be doing the fewest hospital hours this week! 1/2 hour PICC line flush.
Yesterday was a good turning point for me ? it turns out what I thought for were terrible side effects from chemo - lasting 6 days- are actually side effects from the anti-nausea drugs!! Won’t be taking those again- so that’s now 2 anti- nausea drugs that I have awful side effects from ?. Knowing this has really helped.
Tomorrow off to see surgeon in Tunbridge Wells to check on reconstruction progress- looks good to me. It’s at his offices so no hospital. As its a 2 hour drive Hubbie and I will just have to go out for lunch! Let’s hope with thin hair I’m brave enough.
Sally- how is it going? Did you have assessment today or is it tomorrow? Hope bloods all good ready for cycle 2. Don’t know about you but don’t want anything holding up now.
Feenix- how are you doing? A lot to take in after all you’ve been through so much. Do you have an appt with surgeon?
Gill - double figures ?
Hi Jem,
I’m still all good and trouble free. No hair loss or shedding so cold cap appears to have done it’s stuff so far. Second cycle Friday. I’ve not got an assessment?
Enjoy your lunch out. Dunno about you but I have not lost my appetite one little bit. I could still eat for England if I let myself
Sally - hope all goes well tomorrow. Cycle 1 done, 1 step closer to finishing this.
Surgeon was really pleased with healing- his response - you’re healing is amazing. Yeah some good news??. I knew I would need more surgery but it will be small and next year .
Sun was shining, Lovely walk and lunch sat outside. Good to be out. ??
Feenix big hugs to you- it just gets too much sometimes- hope this afternoon has been better. Facing any op is difficult but I remember how overwhelming this was - I had Tourette’s for a few hours as didn’t know how to express how I was feeling. For me once I made decision re reconstruction or not it felt like 1 hurdle done- just take one step at time.
Today I had another hurdle - picked up ‘Audrey’ the wig from hairdressers -I now have to face wearing it at home this weekend and then going out- I know I have to be brave and just get on with it- but really how many more times do I need to put on those big knickers??
Sally - hope today went well, time to rest and watch the footie?are you planning on going into work on Monday?
Gill another week
Hugs to all ?
Hi Jem,
Of course I’m going to work Monday. Work keeps me sane, especially when I can go in when I want and Wear what I want. Plus it’s holiday time so if I’m not in it really put pressure on others, especially my daughter who works in the same place. I’ll do a few hours at the very least just to take the pressure off. Hope all is good with you.
Gill, still managing the one song shuffle?
Feenix I hope you find your decision easy in the end so as to not stress you out.
Now ladies. Enjoy the sunshine, have a good weekend and watch England win 4-0 on Sunday
Sally.
Hi ladies. Hope all went well today Sally. I am similar to you work keeps me sane. All the finance team are off to Germany Monday for annual group meeting so holding the fort why they are away for the week. Quite glad not going really but radiotherapy wasn’t the excuse I was looking for. All good 13 done 7 to go and feeling ok. Tad itchy and lovely shade of pink. Bit tired at end of day but that’s normal for me. If I get through the next 7 feeling like I do then all good.
Jem - Audrey is fine you will look great in it. Bit of lippy ? and good to go. I am sure you will find the confidence to go out and about and not even be aware she is there.
Feenix. Good ole waiting game again.
Next week busy week hubby goes in for hip replacement Friday so he wont be seeing me ring the bell! So hayley is coming with me and will record it.
He will be quite happy with wall to wall football for a few days I am sure
Have a good weekend all. Wedding, bridesmaid and florist for me so busy times.
Right back at you Feenix - amazing lady?
I keep having to pinch my husband
He doesn’t care!
Amazing result - we’re all excited for Thursday- have agreed to let chn stay up. Nothing like England winning 6-1 to lift a mood!
Hope you are all doing well- Sally hope no side effects .
Feenix - how are you doing- when do you need to make decision by?
Gill- how’s wedding prep going? You’ve got a busy week - Hubbie and you.
Well I was brave today - went for a walk to sea shore wearing Audrey (look on Trendco website)- saw a neighbour and panicked - he just said how well I was looking! Make up and wig helping them!! Tomorrow facing school playground- a bit like the lions den!!
Kitchen sparkling, next week 2 rooms. By the end of chemo I might have house sorted and deep cleaned?
Jem xx
Feenix - pleased to hear you are at peace with your decision. It’s such a tough one, for me it felt I could breath again without that crushing feeling once I’d made the decision . I’m not saying it’s easy from there but you have some control once more.
More results? Which ones? Have they given you a date?
I am really fortunate that the footpath at the bottom of the garden leads to the sea. I can walk down and see no one at all. Last week took my book and had an hour sat reading listening to all the sea birds - for me it grounds me again when I’m not feeling great.
I’m cycle 2 week 2 day 6. Week 2 is when you have very low immunity so need to keep away from people with infections - much easier in the summer I think. Last time week 3 I just had too much energy. Hopefully same again.
Since diagnosis in Feb house has taken back seat- we now have a cleaner but I’m a bit ocd about it all. We decided to gave cleaner after mx and recon as couldn’t do any housework for 6 weeks & now focusing energy I have on my 3 children.
Hope your week is lovely and boring compared to last week?
All quiet here- hope you’re all ok.
Feenix how’s the pros and cons list going? Hope you’re doing a little better and less leaky eyed. When’s oh home?
Gill- off those rads - hope you are still doing well
Wonder Woman- otherwise known as Sally! How’s work been - travelling on trains must be so hot,
Good week so far here, being a lady that coffees and lunches this week seeing friends, trying to do something he 5km each day too. Had 8 children here for water slide and tea this evening- I don’t know why I get fatigued??!
Hugs to you? xx
Hi Gill,
Still all good bar heat stopping me getting a decent kip thus giving me a bit of a headache today. I’d like to actually by woken by the alarm at 6am now and then instead of being wide awake by 4. Cold cap seems to be doing its job, hair all still fine. You’re on the final furlong now Gill, must be so relieved you are nearly done.
Got a reply to my complaint about my mammogram not being acted upon which was two pages of waffle that said absolutely nothing. I’m tempted to send it back to them with what I think of their reply written over it in words of one syllable!
Hope everyone else is doing good and enjoying the weather, and the football. Don’t expect the same again against Belgium tomorrow.
