I love that you too are are both at the same hospital! @Linda_Corinne & @cazzie123 such a positive thing to to find a potential friend this scary journey. please let us know if you found each other
Linda, lovely to see you and chat on Friday. Hope all went well. I’m back up there again next Friday to get results. xx
Yes lovely to see you too. I asked her to call me with the results. It went fine. I have some fluid which she can drain if it gets worse and still have steri strips which I will remove tomorrow. Do you think you will be having chemo? Xx
oh I’m glad you don’t have to make that journey again. I really don’t know about chemo, she was giving nothing away…she said she couldn’t tell from surgery whether lymph nodes were involved so we shall wait (again) and see. The waiting is torture but the sun is shining so I’m going to get in the garden whilst it lasts x
Dear Linda and Cazzie,
Will be thinking of you both tomorrow. Wishing you health and happiness ahead.
Take good care, and all the help offered, please let’s us know how you’re doing
Hugs Tili
I’m also in bristol, I’m at Southmead and tomorrow will meet my oncologist at bristol oncology. I’ve been told I’ll need chemo and radio so tomorrow I’ll be given the treatment plan and hopefully get the ball rolling. I’m 6 weeks post op and healed.
Virtual hugs. Hopefully, the operation will be successful.
I sent you a private message too.
Hi greenqueen - I also have my surgery (mastectomy) on the 17th Mar. Feeling exactly as you described. Having been through two months now of limbo, I am feeling the reality of it all is about to hit. Not sure that there is much that can prepare us ahead of the day. I’m trying to focus on the 17th as the start of the fight back and recovery… wishing you best of luck !
Hi s70x, welcome to the forum. It’s a really kind supportive place. Best of luck with your surgery on Monday. St Patrick’s Day is now ‘Cancer eviction Day’ in my house.
Welcome to the forum. If you can plan to do some nice things before your surgery.
Front opening PJs and tops were really helpful for me. As well as a good fitting bra, I used a tshirt style for night time. I had a bilateral lumpectomy ( both sides). For mastectomy you will need a suitable bra, many say Marks and Spencer, George at Asda and Primark are great for them.
Take care
Thanks so much for your message ! Yes, I’m having a trip down to the coast tomorrow which I’m looking forward to… PJs, bras and boob pillows… check ! Apparently I will also get 2 bras from the hospital, they come along with the softie boob! So I think I’m as ready as I’ll ever be !
I hope you’re well on the road to recovery and thanks for being so welcoming ! X
Yes thank you. I’m now nearly two years since I found my lump after having a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, Herceptin for a year, radiotherapy. I’m now on Aromatase inhibitors and bone infusions for 5 and 3 years respectively.
Feeling much better thank you and wanting to help others with a diagnosis.
Let us know how your surgery goes. Enjoy your time at the beach.
Hopefully all went well im sure you will be fine, it was like me after routine mammogram my world fell apart, after many mammograms scans biopsies all scary stuff I had to have lumpectomy within two weeks lumph nods removed for precaution there was nothing in my armpit it was clear and margins clear, had 5 rounds of radiotherapy and im on tamoxifen for 5 years, hope your doing ok, here if you need a chat xxxx
Awaiting results still and got a seroma. How long did people wait for the fluid to get reaborbed? Is it best to wait or get it aspirated?
Me too. Surgery on Friday. Hope you are ok
Welcome to the forum @nutmeg1 be thinking of you on Friday.
If you need signposting to any BCN services, please let me know.
Thank you
Hi all, had my surgery yesterday and apart from tiredness all went well.
Everyone was kind, explained everything, kept popping in to see if I had any questions or needed anything.
I’m surprised how little pain there is, more sore than anything and can be managed with paracetamol although I was sent home with stronger painkillers if I needed them.
I await results of the removal and date for radiotherapy
I hope everyone is having a good weekend
Dear Nutmeg
Well done to you, take good care don’t overdo it take any help offered from family and friends.
I always say one day at a time, wishing you health and happiness going forward.
Much love Tili
