Unsure which cream/mousturiser - radiotherapy

Hi I used Aloe Vera gel, it was so easy to apply, not sticky at all & was really cooling. It served me well as I had no redness.
I got a huge tub off amazon which lasts for ages. Hope your rads go well.

Hi I used E45, I wouldn’t recommend Teatree at All it can be dangerous on sensitive skin. Under the arms Sanex both of these have no metal in them.
Better not to go for anything too fancy. E45 doesn’t has what most other products for the skinhas ie Vaseline. I have type 4 allergies and E45 was recommended a long time ago, and is still available. i get mine on prescription in the 500ml Pump. good luck and feel free to come back to me. I’m 2 years the other side of radiotherapy,m lol Moonsox xxx.

Hi
I am probably in a similar position. Had lumpectomy and nipple removed and had my 5 days worth of radiotherapy 3 weeks ago. I have simply drank lots of water, fresh air walks and all I use is E45 which I have used most of my life and was recommended by the hospital team. I buy the one in a pump dispenser 24 hour moisturisation for dry and sensitive skin as it’s runny and easy to massage in and works fine. Had no skin issues as yet! I also use the natural Bio oil on my scars. Hope that helps.

I was recommended to use a cream/lotion with aloe Vera from Holland and Barratt. Very reasonably priced and worked a treat.
Good luck with your treatment, you’ve got this! xx

Hi - thats interesting that your hospital gave Flamigel. I went for my RT planning session today and showed radiographer a tube of Flamigel I bought and she said it was only for head and neck cancer…which didn’t seem to make sense…skin is skin. right? A young final year student radiographer followed me as a I left and said another hospital he had worked at recently within NHS Scotland routinely gives Flamigel to breast cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy. The senior radiographer has also not come across Radiaderm despite the company who makes it recently becoming a sponsor of Radiotherapy UK’s summer charity challenge…there seems to be a lot of confusion and even misinformation about best skincare products for radiotherapy.
