I have 2 children, 1 boy named Zachary and 1 girl named Molly. My husband wanted to call my son either Pingu after the penguin or Zebady, magic round about. It was just luck that i found a name in time that we both liked. Zach as we call him, if a girl, i wanted Nikita. Molly on the other hand was easier named after my husbands late mum. She was going to be called Brodie which can be for either sex. I also like the name Imogen. Hope this helps and amuses. lezleaxx
I have 3 girls Stacy, Lauren and Cydnee
2 boys Harry and George
3 Grandaughters Maisy, Scarlett, Rosie
I love old fashioned names like Ruby, Milly, Molly.
Depends on the surname… I have friends whose husbands’ favourite names just could not go with the surnames… if the men had got to choose, their daughters would have been Melanie Bellamy and Hayley Bailey! But I know an Alison who married into the name Allison! I like the names Connor and Ella, both vetoed by mother in law when I had mine. I know someone who called her daughter Xaniq, pronounced “Shaneek”, which I loved, there wouldn’t be many more of those on the school register but do remember boys in particular really don’t like growing up with very unusual names, and even girls get fed up having to explain if they have a familiar-sounding name with some bizarre spelling. Frank Zappa’s daughter Moon Unit changed her name, as did Keith Richards’ daughter Dandelion. Try Google for ‘celebrity children names’, it’s quite scary!! Good luck, is it in Japan where one chooses one’s own adult name? Not a bad idea! Lyn xx
My friend has just come back from visiting her 2nd grand-child in UK and her son and D-I-L have called her Edith. The 1st child is Archie.

I like Martha for a girl. There’s a little girl at my son’s nursery called Jolie which I think is really pretty. There are loads of lovely Welsh names, especially for girls, I’ve always liked Sian (pronounced Sharn).
My daughter called her baby remi. It is french and can be spelled either with an i or a y. Remy. It is a boys or girls name. She used to dance with a french girl and always liked the name but forgot about it. Her baby girl born last November was Sophie for 5 weeks but when she realized that there were a load of Sophies remembered the name Remi. She is called Bryony and although it is quite common now she was the only one in her school of over a thousand. She is 28 now. Love Eileen
We have a Simone (G), Bryce (B), Ava (G), Remi (B), Emile (B), Atlanta (G), Summer -Lee (G), Angel (B), Rafe - pronouned raffee short for Rafael(B/G) in our young immediate family and Dellum (B) and Brody (B), Oscar, Giles and Xavier for friends.
