OH gutting and plucking the pheasants for me because my nose is SO sensitive to smell at the moment… which leads on to the happy thought of pheasant in cream and cider for supper tomorrow…
wow thats very indulgent have you won the lottery x
seeing my lovely mam and dad always makes me happy and smile they like little derby and joan MWAH xx
Lottery?..they are free around here…we shoot the bu##ers coz they are in the hen run, my neighbour shoots em coz they raid his bird table and also there are loads of shoots around here (hence phesants everywhere)and phesants are in good supply…yummmm!
Anyone want some venison?
These two birdies arrived courtesy of the pub where eldest child works at weekend - they’d been given em by a customer, but had hung them for a week and then got bored of 'em, so son brought them home for me. Dad shoots, so can always rely on few from him, local gamekeeper drops them off on doorstep when got spare… then there’s always the ones that bounce off the bumper by throwing themselves in front of the car…
I’ll always say yes to venison! Think I still have a leg in the freezer from last deer, but would never turn it down!!! One in freezer was knocked down by car in front of OH on his way to work… well, you can’t pick em up if you knock em down… but you can if you’re in the next car to pass… lol … we’ve had a few that way. Best one was when dobermann had to share boot with recently deceased stag… the Heelers would have eaten it by the time we got home, prey drive so bred out in the dobe that she just looked a bit offended at having to share her space…

What’s made me happy/giddy today? THE SUN SHINING; no 1 son coming home this evening (and he’s promised luxurious chilli choc - so stuff the Tamoxifen fat.) Also booked on a Maggie’s Centre Lingerie evening next month. Barbara
BW you can have real venison…I can post it no prob! PM me details!!
I was happy to see my bc nurse today and hear that the slightly hard bit of breast I was worried about is, in her opinion, scar tissue.
I feel reassured, because she is looking at, and feeling breasts for a living, as it were! LOL!
xx
i have a friend how put on what she is grateful for almost everyday. She makes me smile and i am grateful and happy to know her!
What made me happy today…
Being told I was a very attractive lady by a gentleman who had no ulterior motive.
The vet telling me that my 10 year Bordie Collie who we rescued 11 months ago was a great dog in wonderful condition and to keep doing what we were doing.
Making somebody laugh on the phone because I couldn’t remember where I worked when I answered it.
Realising that this time next week my operation will be over.
It’s amazing when you start thinking about your day actually quite a lot of things can make you happy so is that reason to be happy number one.
…so far: a second day of sunshine. OH saying, let’s go to Carluccio’s for coffee and share a cake (we’re broke)before going to the s’market. Lovely coffee, shared an apricot tart and then asked each other if either of us had any money with us! He snorted at my impression of the Bag Lady trying to a) find purse and then b)count out cash out without specs on. But we had enough, just. B
Struggling to think of something, but I’m sure I’ll get there if I try hard enough.
How about:
The sky is blue out there.
(Well it is, and it’s pretty an’all, but I couldn’t exactly say it’s making me happy. Note to self: must try harder!)
How about:
OH has a date for his next lot of tests for heart surgery.
(Erm, that’s actually scary-making more than happy-making, but at least it’s a bit of progress. Still have to try a bit harder.)
How about:
This site is filled with lovely people who are willing to give support even though they have their own crap to deal with.
Yep, that does it! Thank you all.
Well done CM. I know you are in that horrible waiting place still, when you thought you would know something today.
The sky is blue, and I have managed to get severely depressed son to cut my fuschias back. Hoping that is a small step forward.
I’m happy because I didn’t know I had to cut my fuschias back until you said. Will do it tomorrow!
Spending a day with my friend up at her yurt, walking in the sunshine, discussing trees, sheep and landscape and driving back over the high moor of Exmoor and taking pictures of the sun setting with only ponies and sheep for company!!
Not sure it made me happy, but certainly made me smile - apparently, (according to teenage son), everyone’s star sign will move back one, as they have found a 13 star sign!!! Hope nobody has their star sign tatooed (sp) on them!!
