What made me happy today

Today, 14mths after ending my treatment i had my crazy, curly thick mad hair cropped off and it looks straight!!!
I finally finally look like me.

Bl//dy mmarvellous!!!

Waking up this morning and not having to go for rads as fnished them yesterday. It’s 7 months since I went to gp with lump and it’s great to know apart from a daily tablet I have finished active treatment.

seeing the sunshine and no rain, whoopee, even the ponies were happier, yay

Ali, what has made me happy is seeing your post. We started chemo about the same time, so you have made me realise I haven’t got much longer to go! Three more weeks of rads is not so much after all.

Friends who look after you. Had a bad day yesterday, friend stepped in, makes the day much less daunting.

Getting all the dates for my herceptin. Why did this make me happy? Cuz I can now start planning our honeymoon!!! Hoorah!

Having coffee with two of my best mates and laughing much too loudly, swearing far too much and getting tutted at by old ladies like we were still teenagers.

My lime and rose cupcake at Harvey nicks! See my facebook status thread, have had a lovely day, finished off by kicking ass at the PTA…

Feeling the sunshine on my back through the window at work today!

Watching ‘my girls’ at dance school as they did final last minute improvement rehearsal for show at Stockport Plaza on Friday :-)) Good luck my babes break a leg (not literally!)

Going for my daily walk in the sunshine which is therapy for my poor legs and toes that have taken the brunt of chemo. Each day they feel a tad stronger.

Stepping on the Wii Fit and finding that I’ve lost a bit of weight.

Finding I added another session of chemo that I don’t need so my last one is in march not april WHOOPEE !!!

Standing in the sunshine watching our enormous Kune Kune, Sasha, munching a big pile of carrot and apple chunks. She was grunting happily, as she scoffed, and I just love her!
Little things mean a lot.

Please excuse my iggerance, but what on earth is a Kune Kune?

LOL…a kune kune is a breed of pig…originally from New Zealand. They are smaller than most breeds of pig but still pretty hefty…we used to breed them and one made 200lb of sausages!

Learning how to do my own daily injections (for a blocked vein due to chemo) rather than wait around for district nurses to pop in each day.

They were all lovely and have really helped me over the past few weeks with just another thing to cope with. But I have my independence back again today.

Realising my appointment with oncologist is one day nearer… not sure if this is yippee or yikes, just want to get it over with and start whatever treatment is necessary.

Listening to Meatloaf CD & remembering when I saw him in December before all this kicked off

Enjoying a walk in the sunshine and not feeling guilty as Occ Health have said I can’t return to work for at least another week

Realising there are a lot of us all going on slightly different journeys but all fantastic in supporting each other!

Love & hugs to you all xxx

Choccie…as LIF said, Kunes are supposed to be smaller than most pigs, but Sasha must weigh more than I do.LOL! We’ve had her over 6 years, and she WAS smaller than our Jack Russells!

Forgot to say that thinking about my trip to Suffolk next week is also making me happy.I got over the lack of confidence re: going alone, and am soo looking forward to seeing sons, family and best friend again!

A walk in the sunshine, amazed at how much frost there was in the middle of the afternoon, even in the roads.

The prospect of going to my first chamber choir rehearsal since Christmas–if I can’t sing the whole time I can follow along and learn notes.

My boss giving me the day of on Monday - operation is on Tuesday AND giving me a big box of Thorntons Continentals… Yummy
