Where did I go????

Welcome Stella - perfectly normal! Whatever “normal” is round here!!!
Emm & Ami … I do admire your ability to go through everyone… I haven’t got the patience (or the time!) Now that we’re a whole person down (out of 2.5 whole-time-equivalents) the on call rota is looking a little silly… and I’ve travelleld from “I must fill all the gaps” to “that’s a bit mad” to “can we have a conversation about what’s reasonable”… Progress I think!
The arm was better this morning - not so good this evening, so I’ve had another little rub (massage) and we’ll see how it is tomorrow… It’s not easy sleeping with your arm on a folded V pillow (for drainage), especially when that’s not hte side I used to sleep on. I can’t sleep on my “favourite” side now, and the body just relaxes differently when I do…

ANYWAY, nuff moaning… How’s VIcki doing Doz? I too thought you were heading off to the nursing home prematurely!! Worried me for a secondo there!

TIme for bed (said Zebedee)…

Ha ha I think the nursing home idea is sound ;( I would certainly get some rest!!!
Still not a happy bunny with the thumb but managing to type a bit better without it!
I uploaded the only picture I could find but it wont be staying!!! I am using Daniels laptop for now as he took mine to Afghanistan (better than this one…) and its the only picture I could find that he’d taken of me… I will be having words with him when he gets back… 1 picture I ask you???
Ami I cut the grass and did some weeding last week and I know how you felt… the bending really gets my back after a while so I had to give up in the end when I finally prised my back in going horizontal again!! With this house/cottage being quite old the garden is so quaint and since I moved in i’ve been trying to get the cottage garden look what with all the pretty shrubs and weeds its certainly looking full  unless you take a good look and see the weeds still at the back… another days job i’m afraid!!!
Em how good to hear you sounding more content it must be such a good feeling after all the travals trials and tribulations of the H… now its time to dance in the rain and start a new life for yourself too now the decision regarding woek has finally been reached… well done you, you will probably be missed more than you know after all the work and graft you put into your familys… bless you xx
Jane glad to hear the arm is’nt too bad today its a rotten feeling when its playing up and I do agree about the normal sleeping side… I seem to fall asleep ok…ish then halfway through the night wake up in a really uncomfortable place with aches and stiffness everywhere and my normal sleeping side has gone awol :frowning: not really sure what normal is anymore with this old body of mine… its definately going into meltdown…
Janice its so good to have you all back in one place again  after all the messing about the site had… I felt really sad when it first came on as it felt as if our flutterby forum had flitted!!! I hope the problems with your hands are getting better hon what with you Em and me we’ll be taking lessons on how to type with our toes soon… god forbid ha ha!!!
Love to all you flutterbys whatever the day brings you I hope its a peaceful happy one… and yes the sun is shining so shades on and enjoy xxxxxxxxxxxhugxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi all
WOW !! it snowed here yesterday in MAY!! never seen that before i love wild weather.
ami and emmy your posts are so long but wonderful to read.
hello to stella, this is a real nice place to say what you want and to know we all feel the same and not going crazy.
Doz How great it is to have vikki home and that you are going to make a slower pace of life for your self.
before i moved this far north i was a home carer in the evenings, also mornings and evenings at the weekend i used to take there washing home lol above and beyound duty but i loved it, did that for 3 years, looking back it was one of the best jobs i ever had so nursing home sounds like a great idea for a partime job.
gijane Hope your arm is better this morning, i have an appointment with oncologyest on 23rd so will let him see how my lympho is doing cuz not heard from any nurse yet iam thinking iam in a que. you seem to have a heavy work load dont for get to look after your self xxx
janice Hello to you , i have now started to well try to reply to everyone. We will have to put a pitchure of our selves on here i have no idea how to do that tho must add that to my to do list.
well its 10.18am not dressed not taken any meds , but glad ive posted take care xxxx yvonne

Well, its 10.28 and I’m still in my PJ’s! I was going to do so much today as the sun is shining but then had a call from the hospital saying I can see the respirologist next Monday as they’ve had a cancellation and I’ve kind of frozen! Started me worrying again when I had managed to put it to the back of my mind…
Anyhow, I’m really giving work a lot of thought and what do I want to do and what can I cope with? This old BC really changes the way you see things and changes your priorities in life…yet at the same time I don’t want it to take over either if that makes sense?
Gi Jane- hope your arm feels better soon… ps the puds were calorie free yesterday so no worries!
Welcome Stella, and I echo what Jane says, ‘what is normal’ and who cares anyway! This site has been a lifeline for me and still is.

It’s now 10.40 and still in PJ’s but beginning to feel guilty about that now, what if someone comes to the door!! Best get dressed and do some weeding in the garden. Off to the theatre this evening with OH so looking forward to that.

well now its 11.50 and still not dressed, but hoovered the house soo thats me done for the day
Elsa i have my fingers and toes crossed for you, sending you a great big hug.xxxx
Enjoy the gardening xxxx
yvonne xxxx

Afternoon all - thank you for your welcome messages. I’m still feeling better from having found this thread - I seem to have gone up an octave if that makes sense! I did read a few threads about supplements that ladies are taking - my GP always says ‘don’t know’ if I ask about taking any. But was thinking of definitiely buying glucosamine(for aches & pains caused by letrezole), and maybe VitD3 and VitB complex. Anybody else taking these?
I’m doing this at work! Its not the hardest job and very quiet at times (receptionist/switchboard/bit of admin) so I do like to browse the website and look at all the posts - still going through all of yours, obviously a site that works for a lot of ladies.
Well its still lovely and sunny here in Leicester so off for walk soon, finish at 1.45 today.
Love & Hugs
Stella x

Thanks Yvonne…it really helps knowing that others are thinking of me…feeling less guilty as am now out of PJ’s and have done an hours gardening…my halo is shining…for today only that is! Ami…I’m like you, gardening makes my muscles ache but I’m just grateful I can still do it!

Gardening oh my poor legs culd hardly stand up after doing mine but the Robin enjoyed all the worms so made me feel better ha ha.
Doz see what you mean about paragraphs.Nursing home sounds good I worked for 13 & half years on days then nights and it can be very rewarding if you have good staff so I would say go for it. You will find it very different from hospital work and I was the only nurse on nights so you are very much on your own but I loved all the residents and thats the only thing I miss about not working.Hope Vikki is doing okay and as Ami says it could be a new start for both of you. just found out how to do smileys
Yvonne you are really getting the hang of this now and lovely to read your posts
Elsa my sister used to spend all morning in her d.g and only got dressed when she was going out so what the heck
Ami love to read your posts as they are always positive your aunt sounds amazing
Emmy keep going girl you are so amazing after all you’ve been through and we must keep those wings going
Jane please don’t overdo things work has to realise you are only human and not superwoman(there again you could be in disguise ha ha) think of yourself as well as others
Stella a warm welcome to this fab site where we are all slightly bonkers but thats how we cope Love and group hug to everyone and those I haven’t mentioned by name Janice xxxxxx

Also it wont let me edit my bad spelling of someTHONG!!! I give up! Flutter gently girls xxxxx

Hi Doz. Maybe sounds a good word! As does pleasing yourself what you’re going to do today! I’ve not worked out the smileys, any clues? Thats if they’ll work when I find them. Had a good morning but bad afternoon yesterday - just started to feel tired and really drained, so went home and had a sob and wondered why I’d bought all these supplements I mentioned yesterday!
Also had a cancernet newsletter today which goes on about alcohol causing bc! Don’'t tell me I’ve got to give that up too! At least the suns shining.
Have a good afternoon
Stella x - Just found them! Never looked at that top line before DOH!!!

Hi everyone weather not so good today so did some housework.Where on earth does all the dust etc. come from or maybe I should do it more often.Love the MAYBE Doz I think that quite often that maybe I will, then I sit down and think no maybe I will just relax.Yvonne love the photo I will have to get round to putting mine back on maybe I will wait till wedding next week and get someone to take a one with my make up on then I may look glam ha ha.Take care girls and have a restful day all of you still in your p.js love and hugs Janice xxx

Maybe I’ll get dressed, maybe I’ll stay in my PJ’s…liking the word maybe a lot…describes my days at the moment!!
Have just booked a holiday for me and my OH …felt we deserved a break after this c…p year…trouble is I have an appointment with my consultant the week before we go so have decided to be the proverbial ostrich and rearrange the appointment for when we get back…don’t want anything to spoil the holiday! Need to get a mastectomy swimming cossie and have seen some lovely ones on the Nicola Jane website, they also do strappy t shirt tops but a tad expensive but maybe I’ll treat myself…there’s that word again!
Anyway, gotta go, need to have a mad tidy round as have got visitors this evening…love and hugs to all you flutterbies

I love that we get guilt over having PJ days!!! Noooooo! I stay in mine as long as possible and hang whoever comes to the house after all it is my time and I will enjoy it! I lived in mine for months they became my bestest friends! I still have PJ days and love them.
Doz maybe days are good too! I don’t know if any of you ever saw Quentin Crisp when he was around years ago? He said after the first inch or so dust doesn’t get any higher! So it isn’t like the rings on trees no one need know how long it has been! Ha!Ha! I think I am slowly coming to the conclusion that yes I like some kind of order in my life and a reasonably clean house but it has certainly slipped down my list of priorities!
I love your pic Garden party I take its the family? They look a happy group it is nice to see.Did you get your lympho sorted? I wear a sleeve for mine and a rather fetching bullet proff vest thing when it gets bad! I did have one with a glove on it which used to get remarks and I did find annoying but I now have the sleeve that I can hide under long sleeves and saves me gritting my teeth!
ami I am looking for you have you gone into hiding you didn’t post for ages then like the buses it all came at once and yes I am still giggling! I hope you are well and the sun is shining!
Well it is late for me and I have just taken my tablets that send me spark out (lovely) and will catch up in the morning with all the fluitterbys! Take care and sending spoons, ladles lots of love and a Group Hug Em xxx <3 <3 < 3

P.S I like that you write THONGS! and panic after 'cos you can’t get rid! That has made me laugh! x

I got my tank top thingys from Eloise £25 so not cheap, but good colours and good fit. I got my cozzy on their sale too… where’s the holiday planned for Elsa?
One more night on call, then no more for 2 weeks. After that, it sounds like I’ll be on call every other night (or 1 in 2), so I’ve put a plea out to local vicars! Watch this space…
Temperature for the first weekend of my holiday is scheduled to be 4-6 degrees… GREAT! Will somebody tell the weather man it’s MAY…
Night night flutterbies… didn’t get to bed until 1am last night (fun, not work) s o tired now…

flip flop
love Jane xx

Jane: we’re going to the Dordogne/Lot region of France in August, can’t wait to go…looking forward to the food, wine and hopefully sunshine!I’ve had a word with the weatherman about the temperatures for your holiday and he’ll see what he can do!
Emmy: feel better knowing that dust never gets more than an inch or so high! At least when there’s no sunshine you can’t see the dust! It shone through my sitting room window the other day and there it all was in all its glory!
Stella: its funny how you can be feeling good one minute then you’re sobbing the next…I still get those days…suddenly the emotions just well up and overflow into tears…not just tear tears but gulping sobs…usually happens when I’m in the bath! Hope today’s a better day for you
Anyway, must flutter to the kitchen for another coffee and maybe some toast

Jane: Hope you have a great holiday despite the weather! Sun shining at the moment.
Elsa; Thanks for the kind words, going to have my bit of hair coloured today (its mainly grey/black at the moment) so think that will make me feel better. Going to Turkey on 31/5 so want to be able to take wig off - way too hot (hopefully)! Getting all stocked up with suncream, insect repellent plug & lotion etc. Any tips for 1st holiday after BC welcome.
Think I’m missing out on these PJ days by being at work! (Got the hang of Smileys now)
