What a long hot day 3hr wait, not that i mind.
DR did a few tests on my feet, ankles, legs, boobs, neck and eye’s all in that order, then said he wants me to have a scan on my head and i was not to worry 
also said to stop the tamoxifen and he will see me in 6 weeks
also had bloods taken,
its been 7 months since last chemo, you would think the vains would be back to normal, but NO they had real trouble getting blood , but on third go they got some 
Really thought i would be told today to come back next year so i would be able to go to london to see my family, 
. but i will go with the flow and hope everything works out well for me.
Doz The same thing happend to my brother back in 1988 they even took the carpets there was nothing left, and these people were vetted by an letting agency so it seems that in 2012 people are still doing these nasty things to good people.sending you a big hugxxx
elsa and emmy have you both given up work for good , when i read the posts i get confused with who’s doing what and have to re read then still get it round my neck no hope for me i think
ami with all your energy would you come and do my housework, i have not done much only the kitchen and bath rooms. Iam hopeing all my troubles are from the tamoxifen and i will soon get back to my old/new self in a few days.

Did you enjoy your early finish today Stella? If the weather has been the same as here it will have been hot! And Yvonne, 3 hrs wait on a hot day! Well, they certainly seem to have given you a good examination which shows level of care given. Glad you went on OK. As yourself, I expect to wait and usually take a book or something. I once went to the hospital for BC and was checking in when a nurse asked the receptionist where a patient was. “She says she’s not coming if she has to wait“, she said indignantly. The nurse was fuming at the waste of an appointment and the cost of the doctor etc to the NHS. I don’t think any of us expect to get in on time considering other patients needs but I wouldn’t want to miss any appointment when I had cancer! We don’t have much choice do we, other than to go with the flow as you say? That way we’re less stressed, I think. I have only recently had the stamina to get stuck in to housework, Yvonne. The one thing I can say is it’s satisfying ‘cos you can step back and certainly see where you’ve been!! Ha ha!
Hope you are still working at doing nothing Emmy! Spray a bit of polish into the air and on your hot radiators and nobody will be the wiser! Wondered if you were down the race track after practicing your tik tak….or is it tic tac, or are they the mints??

Gardenparty I do hope the Tamoxifen is at the bottom of all this rubbish you are having lately… you poor love its easy to say dont worry but it’s what we do best 
as anyone who has been on this journey will tell you bless you I hope you get some answers soon its not nice having to wait all the time for someone else to decide whats happening and a 3 hr wait is not acceptable especially in this weather… I’d have melted!!!
I have been to dr’s with my thumb I had to wait while he rang Radiology for results to be faxed… xray showed no problems with the bone so after he examined it he has decided to refer me urgently to Plastic Surgery eeeeek… He suspects a dislocated tendon does’nt know how i’ve managed with it for the last few weeks… neither do I come to think of it He said i will probably hear from them quite quickly as this is the type of thing Plastic surgeons relish OMG!!! It will mean an op if it is that so no hand holding yet girlies (tho if I have to the more the better…) just keep those fingers crossed he’s wrong
Hope your all enjoying the weather and dont forget gardenpartys advice get that sun cream on dont want any burnt butterflys!!! Tomorrow is the first day of my weeks annual leave that i’ve got nothing planned… just watch those clouds come over!!! Story of my life!!!

Yvonne - my veins are the same - awful. I had to have a PICC line during chemo and when they took it out found a clot in my arm so then had to have warfarin. Even now, they can’t get it out of left arm so have to use right arm, the same side as my BC which is not good. Hope coming off tamoxifen works for you.
Ami - my early finish was spent trudging round town looking for cotton turban (I left mine at spa place, found it but they won’t post it back!) Going to go to the hospital and buy one from Macmillan shop today. My holiday also includes my brothers wedding - on the beach. Looking forward to that.
Elsa - hope everything went OK yesterday and you can enjoy the sunshine today.
Doz - fingers crossed Dr wrong - but you still manage to sound positive and uplifting! I want to know what you’re taking hehe!

Glad the bronchoscopy is out of the way…an interesting experience!! I opted for an IV sedative but really it didn’t work at all…the poor doctor who had to find my vein had a job on his hands…all my good veins are on my operated side worst luck for me and him! It seems that I have sarcoidosis, an auto immune disorder, but as I’ve no symptoms I won’t need treatment. It will either resolve of its own accord , stay the same, or worsen in which case I may need a course of steroids. Got to have another CT scan in 6 months but am going back to clinic on June 13th to get all my results i.e.blood tests and biopsies from yesterday just in case it is something else. So, holiday here I come,can’t wait til Saturday.
Doz, I couldn’t believe what you’ve been through…it sounds absolutely horrendous you poor thing. Not what you need right now…or ever come to think of it. Hugs, hugs and more hugs
Gardenparty-I haven’t given up work, just wishful thinking on my part. I’ve got to think about going back so my plan is to see my GP after holiday when my sick note runs out; ask for a bit more time off but get her to recommend a phased return to work in about a month. This will give me time a) to get used to the idea of work and b) for Occ Health to see me to discuss this and c) a bit more time off in this glorious weather!! Why rush??

Yvonne how awful having to wait 3 hours although I waited 2 hours last year just for a 5 minute check up but I always think that maybe someone needed to be reassured or getting the dreaded news so that helps me to be more patient.
Ami I too seem as if I have more energy these days and don’t feel as down as I did so house much cleaner and garden coming along nicely.

Well iam not having much luck with my appointments this week. 
The lympho nurse was lovely took all my details, then said iam going to ring your DR as you have cellulitus well can u belive that so i said it must of come on me while i was on the bus lol
cuz when i came out of shower this morning it looked ok
so appointment made for this afternoon, so now on 600mg anti bio
no lympho treatment till it clears up. DR said if there is no improvement by weekend come back monday and will give me higher dose.
So with that i rang nurse at hospital to say all these symptoms iam having are due to cellulitus and it would be best to cancell scan of my head. she said that my symptoms have been going on longer than the infection, but she will speak to my onc and get back to me, but seems to think it wont be changed
Elsa Your body will let u know when its ready to go back to work, so enjoy the summer xx

I have been trying to post all afternoon… I received a scam through this site and since then I’m being denied access to complain or post… not sure if you’ll get this but if you do PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OPENING A PRIVATE MESSAGE FROM A “RICHARD1 FROM SIERRA LEONE”… i’ve tried to post this warning all afternoon and this is the final attempt. So fed up with this site how the heck can a scam come through saying he’s been through my details and thinks i’m creditable then tries to get me to reply to get 1,000.000 then all access is denied to get on here and it keeps logging me out…???
I want the old site back it just makes me wonder how secure this site and all our details are SOB!!!

I have deleted and blocked the scamming letter this had richard21 on it!!! I have also deleted all information about me along with changing pic as you can see. I really am upset that our pm’s can be accessed by someone doing this!
My bank has a facility to forward spams like this so why hasn’t BCC got the same?
I see there has been a thread posted for this so I am going to post on there too, I think all of us who have had this mail should do the same so when BCC are back in the morning they can sort it and at least see just how serious this is to all of us who feel vulnerable enough already!

I have had same scam mail Doz it would be sad if we stopped using this site because of it I am just glad my name and password are totally different to the one I use here just hope we don’t get anymore how horrid are they who prey on people on a site like this. the chap who did my bloods said my veins were small.
iam such a coward Not worring about the scan, but the injection before hand, how silly does that sound, there seems to be no improvement since my last chemo.
is there a time limit for them to inprove, or are we all different, and heal at different rates. all this should be the least of my worries.

Bless you Yvonne! veins were the bane of my treatment! In the end they used my inside wrist (not nice but better than all that poking!) it lasted for about the last 10 Herceptins thankfully! I now have to go and have bloods done at our local hospital and the nurse there has said they will have to use my feet! UGH! Oh the joys of the gift that keeps on giving! Sorry am quite angry about the spamming thing and almost missed your posting.

This problem is not exclusive to the new site, we have had issues in the past with similar problems.

Yvonne - I rang BCN for advice on veins as kept getting different anwsers as whether should use right arm (BC side) - she said get them to try left arm first and if can’t get it go to right arm. They get it first time on right arm - my poor left arm has been through so much - I don’t know if it will recover! They were not very good before BC either. But they will always find one, so try not to worry about it (easily said I know!) I’ve not heard of anyone mentioning cellulitis before - hope it clears up quickly for you. You’re welcome to gatecrash my brothers wedding if you can get a flight!!!lol x
