Phew I could have done with having my phone in the bedroom last night and posting here …3.30am and I was still awake …doh … tried looking out window , reading and then stupid night shopping on tv …why do the shopping channels think we want to buy a steam mop or a screwdriver with a torch on it at 3am in the morning !!
Anyway here’s hoping for better sleep tonight.
Zzzzz Carolyn xxx

Oh moijan
Sorry wasent about to chat when u couldn’t sleep …
I didn’t sleep well either …think the clock hit 2am before I finally dozed and of course I’ve only just woke up now at silly o clock …I seem to get a couple of good nights and a couple of bad ones follow …
Not pain but just fidgety …
Yes…but it is my fault for being on the internet!
my OH rises at the crack of dawn every day, every day and wakes me up? I am SO happy about that as you can imagine!
only popped onto the thread to have a ‘bleep’!
Carolyn…im not fidgety, just sometimes btm is a bit painful, I just dont get to bed early enough tooxx
Dawn, lucky you dont use an Ipad…far too temptingxx
Now then ladies - I’ve been having trouble with my sleep because of the steroids. My mother had heard that drinking cherry juice before going to bed can help. I’m not sure if it has melatonin in it, or if your body makes more melatonin because the juice helps you to sleep? Anyway, I’ve slept much better for 3 nights that I’ve taken it but had a very sleepless night last night after not having it. I’m always unsure if it’s psychological with me but whatever it is, I felt much better for my 3 nights of good sleep. The only down side is that it’s very expensive. I got mine from Holland & Barrett. It’s concentrated so mixed with water.
Hi FF - I’ve got the CherryActive brand. The bottle says to mix 30 ml (2 tablespoons) in 240 ml of water. It says that amount provides one of your 5 a day portions of fruit and veg. There’s 473 ml in a bottle so it says that’s 15 servings. As it cost about £16, it is rather expensive but I’ve found previously when I’m not on steroids I just need to break the cycle of bad sleep. I’m hoping the one bottle will get me back to sleeping through the night. I hope you can get to sleeping through the night. It’s horrid lying awake with all sorts of thoughts going through your mind. X
Phew last night was a disaster as far as sleep was concerned …
It all started when the batteries in my tv remote wouldn’t turn it off …so off I got to switch it off manually.
Then just getting comfy and snug …I decided I needed to wee …so off I went again…
Then I realised the window was still open and it was blowing a hurricane here but as I was snug and cosy didn’t bother to get out …
Well my bed is under the window and I woke up later draped in purple curtains that had lifted with the window open and I honestly thought someone was trying to suffocate me
Soooo. .hoping for good sleep tonight or I shall be here moaning again tomorrow ! ![]()
FF
Never thought that sleep would be a luxury thing in my life either …think it must be the letrozole !!
I have always been able to sleep for England before taking it. But I have had a couple of good night’s this week too !!
Zzzzzzz let’s hope for a good night’s kip tonight .

Tick tock tick tock …11, midnight, 1 and 2am …I was still awake last night but then zzzzz sleep to 9am !!
Hope u all got some shut eye at some point .

I’m back in the WAAMC. On Tuesday I found out that my cancer has spread to my hip and liver - bit of a shock as they had thought the hip was arthritis and the liver thing was another cyst. It’s difficult to keep the pain under control. When it wakes me up during the night it’s already got a hold and tonight has reached the stabbing, teeth chattering stage before I could take the painkillers. It’s settling now, thank goodness. I’m waiting to see if I can get onto a clinical trial but until I’ve talked to the trial co-ordinator I can’t have any treatment, such as radio, for my bone mets. Not had any form of treatment since before Christmas because my bone marrow couldn’t cope with chemo anymore.
Thanks for the tip about Sainsbury’s cherry juice. We have a Sainsbury’s in the nearest town to where I currently live but I’m moving back to near my family in the next ???couple of weeks and there isn’t one anywhere near. I shall have to stock up as much as possible before I move.
Hope everyone else is managing to sleep tonight.
X
Hiya downbutnotout
Sorry to hear that you have progression again …any plans to go back to hallwang for more alternative treatments ?
When my mum had her bc …she always said it was like rust in my dad’s car …you could keep covering it but it always broke through at some stage !!
Xxxx
Hiya Bon
Think I must be some sort of vampire as soon as it gets light …I sleep like a log !! It’s getting off to sleep is my problem !!
Have u tried blackout blinds/ curtains so u don’t wake up with the light morning’s .
Xxxzzzzzz
Hiya Carolyn and Bon - thanks for your replies. The gift that keeps on giving has put some nodules in my lungs as well. Just found out yesterday after going to GP with awful chest pain. I can’t afford to go back to Hallwang unfortunately. I’m waiting to hear about a clinical trial in Manchester but it’s another week gone by with no treatment and the C going uncontrolled. I can’t have anything for my bones until I know about the trial.
Hmm Carolyn, have you seen your reflection in the mirror lately…?
x
Hello dbno
Well let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed for a clinical trial …at least the bigger hospitals have quite a few new ones running which might suit you.
Yes …its all about the money really with hallwang and its ongoing all the time …as u know I’m in daily contact with a lady u met there from oz …she’s got to go back for a third time soon …
Yes I look in the mirror and don’t like what I see somedays either but thinking about it …can’t be a vampire as I’m a vegetarian …
Hugs xxxxx
I’m back. These slow release, long lasting painkillers don’t seem to do it for me.
Carolyn, the fact that my skin has been clear since going to the Hallwang has been wonderful. I do believe in what they do and, in the grand scheme of things, for many people the money is doable. The German VAT is a real downer. I could have afforded another topup if it hadn’t been for that. I must email our Aussie pal next to catch up on her news.
Hope you’re all making zzzzzs.
X
Hello dbno
Phew u do have trouble sleeping seeing the time u posted !!
At least u have had some good results with the skin …it’s a pity the cost is so out of range for a top up . A lot of people are doing public funding appeals to go there …
Anyway the sun is shining and now the house looks dusty and manky after winter …so must get my marigolds on and bleach or …just sit here and stuff chocs !!
Xxxx
Dusting/chocs…hmmm might that be a no-brainer. My house is very old and has exposed ceiling joists, when the Sun comes out boy does it show the cobwebs! I don’t tend to notice till someone comes to visit.
