I was wondering if there is anyone near my area that would like to meet up for support? I was diagnosed 22nd september with grade 2 BC in my right breast which was 13mm.
On thursday 13th i had a WLE and SNB and waiting for the results which i have an appointment for on the 24th of this month.
It came as quite a shock when the doctors told me as i was unaware that there was any in my family and that i have just turned 30yrs old. I have 3 children 6 7 and 11.
I am more positive now then i have been but just cant stand the waiting and thinking the worst at times. Family and friends have been great but it feels better talking to someone who has been through it.
I am 38, and have had lump and snb and expect to start chemo, rads and hormone soon. I have been lucky in that although it is grade 3, my node was clear, but it is still going to be a long ride, and I don’t look forward to the chemo! I was actually going to go to the Alexander support group this Tuesday as a starter. I assume you may be like me which is some treatment worcester, some the Alex, some Kidderminster and I understand the rads is somewhere else!
Im not sure what treatment as yet, think if i have chemo it will be at worcester royal and rads is in cheltenham, so will feel like a ping pong ball for a while.
Do you know where the support groups are? I havent been to any yet and am a little nervous about going.
im not at work at the moment and not sure when i will be going back i suppose its down to waiting for the results on the 24th.
My chemo will be the Alex and I think rads is Coventry but I can request Cheltenham as I am not sure which is nearer!
Support groups wise I am just going to start looking, the website for the alex gave details of a few, but I found out about next tue from the bcn. I really think I need to try to come to terms with the long term implications of it all.

I want to go to one also as i think it will help, I cant think of anything else at the mo just getting my results back from the SNB…My head is full of what if’s which isn’t helping my state of mind.
the hereford meeting sounds good as its not so far away, what time is it on and where in hereford is it?
I’ve got secondary cancer so have been through the ops, chemo rads recon etc,
This time around I go every Friday for three weeks then get a week off (chemo), did start on august 1st but with one problem after another restarted on 3rd October ! No idea what will happen long term but know it cannot be cured just controlled
Have met up with a lovely lady Sadie, she’s got secs too, she goes to the Worcs royal on a monday as under different onc.
If any of you are there on a Friday let me know as it would be good to chat as such a long day!
Don’t forget to sign up for a Look Good Feel Better Course, you get freebies from clarins, clinique etc worth about £125.00
hugs Jo
i’ve had a mastectomy and sentinel node biopsy which found cancer in the nodes, so i’ve had axillary node clearance too
i was due to start FEC~T on friday but yesterday’s checks showed my veins aren’t up to it, so i’m now waiting to hear when i can get a hickman line implanted and the chemo can’t start until then!!
Hi Hayley
oncologist will give you your chemo plan and if you need rads, chemo is done on Rowan ward & rads Cheltenham
Look good courses are at both Birmingham hospitals and also at Cheltenham where there is a magus centre too
Please either email me or pm me if there is any info you need
You will get a wig voucher and you get the wig from wills wigs in Bromsgrove, they are really nice,
Ps put Look Good Feel Better into google and you will get tel nos, Queen Elizabeth Birmingham next one is Feb 14th, Dudley Road is 7th nov, you are probably best to book on 14 Feb cos if you do have chemo that’s when you will need to feel and look better
