Hi All
Wrote about this on another thread and someone suggested I should start a new thread about it.
Anyway, when I was having my radiotherapy Sept/Oct 07 the worst and most inappropriate music they played was Robbie Williams ‘I hope I’m old before I die’.
Best wishes
Dawne
Oh my goodness isnt that totally insensitive. I know when i was fist Dx with this that was one of the songs that freaked me out, can’t imagine them playing it during any treatment.
The other song i played time and time again was ‘If i only had time’
You should mention it to them.
Do hope the rads go ok and your treatment is soon over with.

Hi Dawne,
I had “The heat is on” from beverley hills cop on the radio during my first rads. Not sure if its inappropriate but it certainly made me chuckle.

I had Chariots of Fire a couple of times!
Girls just wanna have fun.
The final countdown !
I had Katherine Jenkins - “Time to say Goodbye!!!”
hey guess what, today i had really appropriate music as i got myself onto the machine. don’t know exact name of song but it kind of goes “don’t give up, you got a reason to live…”. not funny granted, but quite uplifting at the time. though it still didn’t massively detract from the spotty youth manhandling my bits as if they were chopped liver!

Oh sorry to hear that you had a spotty youth’s hands on your bits. The music does sounds appropriate.
Good for me today too, very soothing… It is keeping my mind off the ‘act’ so I am thankful for that
PS . my friend said he would pay good money for 4 people to be prodding him semi naked !
hahahaha - I take it he’s not a looker then
I seem to have a different male every day at my RAD’s am sure words got round to look at my boobies!!!
If your boobies are particularly spectaculer then perhaps they advertise the fact on the hospital staff email… maybe the spotty youth was in fact kitchen staff and thought he would just coem in to cop a feel !!
glad it’s not just me that thinks like that… I always wonder what the lads are thinking and whether they discuss the various pairs they see through the day! what an awful thought. i don’t mind having to strip off so much for doctors but i’m not so happy with male radiotherapists!
Hi all,
The other day I had “Blondie” - “One Way or Another” - I was lying there getting all gutso and thinking yeah, yeah YEAH - too bloomin right - Im gunna get ya, get ya, get ya.
I bounced out of the Radiotherapy Dept - arms in the air - Citizen Smith, came into mind!
Oh the fun we have eh?

I have only had (not in the biblical sense you understand ) one male radiographer. He was very camp and very old and I thought to myself, just my luck. Now, there is a very handsome man in the department. I have no idea what he does and quite frankly, I don’t much care. If he desires to come and oggle me whilst I am lying there in my Millett’s tent (my gown is rather huge), I would be delighted. Not much chance of that, because you see I am one of the old biddies that they would rather not gawp at, especially if they have just eaten!!! Oh well, in my dreams

I think it’s highly unlikely that the staff - male or female - pay any attention to the fact that various patients are revealing various parts of the body. To them it will just be another bit to treat. I am just grateful to anyone who is involved in my treatment - anything that anyone can do to help me fight this nasty nasty disease is a bonus.
Perhaps I am just incredibly lucky in that everyone that has been involved in my treatment has been supportive and friendly and I’ve never felt humiliated or degraded in any way.
I agree Lilac. I think sometimes making light of the moment helps us to through this!!!
All the staff are fab male and female!
Definitely - If I didn’t laugh, I would be crying. The staff are good - I have no idea how they get through their day, they are snowed under with all us lot, yet they are always cheerful and pleasant.
i have a serious teenage crush on my male radiographer hes gorgeous, i just feel extremely embarrased cos im positive he knows!!!
