Hi girls sorry had to sign off yesterday had to use comp to do some work.Sharon wishing you all the best for Monday will be thinking about you I am off work on wednesday to take son to orhtodontist so will try to visit you in hospital i am sure you will do great.

Welcome yvoyvo and fuzzyface as the girls have said before everyone is welcome here. I was dx on 9/10/08 with 8mm lump had lumpectomy no nodes involved or surrounding tissue but grade 3 tumour so having chemo radiotherapy and tamox.I seem to be the lucky one with few side effects but i am starting to feel more tired now.I am getting same treatment as jo will have dose no 9 on Monday counting down now.

Helen hope your kids are feeling better and feeling ok yourself.

Fiona your wig looks lovely. I went for new one on Monday i have decided to go for a long blonde one this time i just thought it will ber a long time before i have long hair again so i thought i’d be adventurous.

Jo i wil try to visit Sharon on wed wil text to see if u can make it that day and wil pick you up if you want.

Pauline hope you have lovely weekend and that you got on ok with p/s.

Hi
Sharon hope all goes well monday. I went to Maggies today lovely people signed up for LGFB/scarves and nutrition class.Has anyone flown after having lymph gl removed how long did you have to wait know i can ask bc nurse but don’t want to phone just for that my friend wants me to go and see her in italy before chemo starts if i have enough time thought why not, going to be a while before proper holiday again. i am single no kids

Hi All

Hope everyone has a good weekend, hopefully the weather will be good to us.

I’m feeling great today, finally got rid of nausea and had Chinese takeaway for tea last, which was great. 4 yr old managed to get though the night without a sore tummy, baby up instead - argh!

Don’t think my hair is holding up too well with the cold cap, as its coming out in handfuls. I’ve started wearing a scarf as a thick headband, just to get used to wearing something on my head.

Sharon - Good Luck on Monday – you’ll be just fine and you know we’ll all be thinking of you. Remember to take all the pain killers going and take it easy, don’t overdo it and let your mum look after you and spoil you when you get out.

Tacey – If you manage to visit Sharon on Wednesday, don’t forget to keep us updated. How’s the training going? Don’t know how you manage it, I struggled to run down the aisle in Tesco’s last week when I needed to change something and a few weeks ago I could run the 10mins to school with the pram no probs.

Jo – Hope you’re doing OK, and getting plenty of rest after your chemo.

Fiona – Hows your mouth? Hope the ulcers are clearing up.

Pauline – Hope you have a good day with your friends – is it today they’re visiting?

Sheila – Have you recovered from your busy day on Thursday?

YvoYvo – Not sure about flying after Lymph node removal, but you might have problems with travel insurance so soon after surgery.I’m sure a holiday would be really great for you. Glad you had a good time at Maggies, you’ll really enjoy the LGFB & head strong session. When are you going them? I think Annie (who hasn’t been about recently) is booked on it on 11th May.

Fuzzyface - hope you’re doing ok. Are you doing anything nice thins weekend with the kids?

Angela – Hows work, hope you’re taking it easy.

Annie – How you doing?

Have I missed anyone out? Really sorry if I have.

Take care all

Hugs

Helen

Sharon

Hi Everyone

Sharon best of luck with the op, they will take good care of you in the Royal. Clare the breast care nurse is great.

Sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend. As usual my weekend has revolved around the kids: ballet, swimming sleepovers and shopping for Brownie camp. My husband is going walking with friends in Noidart next weekend and youngest is off to Brownie camp so eldest and i will have a weekend to ourselves if i can get some energy together. She loves to shop but doesn’t believe in taking things slow or cheap so we will need to wait and see. Rads first time round didn’t cause me much of a problem but because of where they are now targeting it i have felt rather sick and sore but hey only 3 more to go, also see the gynea tomorrow re getting the ovaries out, at least that will stop the zoladex injections.

Only 9 weeks to our family holiday off to Florida for 3 weeks, just need to get insurance as my current policy won’t cover my secondaries and the onc doesn’t want me going without it. What plans to people have for the summer? I suppose it will depend on where everyone is in there treatment and i haven’t got my head round that yet.

Got to go and get dinner organised, kids have to be in bed on time tonight as it’s lost (sorry i am addicted)

Take care

Hi All

Just to let you know… I phoned the royal to see how Sharon is doing… The nurse said she was back from the operation and was doing well.

Second day of work done, all going well. I have an appointment with the surgeon this week so I will be asking to go on the waiting list for a recon. Apart from that, its all quiet here.

Hope everyone is well

Angela

Hi Angela

Thanks for letting us know about Sharon. I’m glad your work is going OK, just don’t take on too much.

Well, I’m off for my wig fitting this afternoon. Apparently they couldn’t get the exact one I decided on, but they’ve got 2 alternatives for me to try, so I’m a bit apprehensive. I’ll let you know how I get on later.

I can meet up for lunch most Wednesdays as the kids are at nursery all day and after school club. I can do other days, but it just depends on what shift John is on.

Hope everyone is well.

Helen

Hi girls - been feeling really tires over lasst few days so not been on site for a few days. It takes a while to go thru all postings. WSaw Dr Yosef yesterday - pleased with progress. The tumour is still reducing so he is keeping me on Xeloda for another few months. Bloods were very low so have to go back next monday and if OK can start on Xeloda again.
Welcome to Fuzzface42 - I am sure you will get a lot of help from this forum. I have just joined recently and really enjoydon’t know if that’s right word) hearing how everyone is doing. i too have secondary - it’s a tumour on my ovary which is very unusual. Not operable so have had 3 lots of chemo which was very gruelling. Currently on Xeloda
Helen - how are you getting on with your hair - when mine starts to fall out I just get it all shaved off. I hated seeing it on my pillow and feeling it coming out in shower. Good luck!!

Sorry girls - pressed submit by mistake.
Hope all the rest of you girls are doing OK.
Can’t remember who was looking for travel insurance - hope you have some luck It is quite difficult as so many won’t take cancer sufferers on. If they do it is often expensive. Worth it for peace of mind. Last time I went abroad used company called All Clear.
Are we still trying to get a date to meet up. Would love to get together for luch or coffee.
Love
sheila

Hi Girls

Annie here. Sorry I have beeen missing in action but my nephew spilled a pint of lemonhade on my £800 laptop, so I am using my old desktop.

Aslo have been absolutly overcome by fatique this time, sore feet and mouth too. No side effect for the first week, then I just crashed. Last chemo on Friday, bloods permitting. will see Mr Yusef then and feelig a bit nervous …

So glad to hear that Sharon is doing well - I am really looking forward to meeeting you all so much.

Will get together some real good funnies for you and will post them soon.

Going to Blackpool for a few days on Sat, while my living room is getting done. i have lots of family and friends down ther so am looking forward to seeing them. Hope they arent too shocked by my appearance - lost most of my lashed and brows and I am awfully pale. Bit nervous about that too …

Will catch up later. Love you guys. Why am I nervous about seeing the onc? I know the tumour has shrunk and I have tolerated the chemo reasonably well up till now. But I am really anxious. Will take my nurse sister into the consultation this time. She went into all my late brother’s consultations with him, so Yusef might remember her. Shit, I used to be such a strong, independant person. Now I feel such a wreck. Anyone else feel this way?

Lots of love

Anie W

Hi Peeps!!

Still enjoying my week of normality! although if you walk behind me you might just get a load of hair in your face!! yep it’s getting that bad, frightened to run my fingers through it incase it all comes out in my hand…!!

Glad to see you back Annie, God your poor laptop! I’d hate anything to happen to mine… my little window on the world!! Good luck for Friday and I hope you have a lovely trip To Blackpool. I have 2 brothers in Birkenhead and They have a canal boat in Chester, I’d love a couple of days away on that just to chill out… X

So good to hear Sharon got through it ok… I hope she heals well and fast… popped a wee card in the post, hope she gets it ok.

Sheila - It’s good to hear the tumour is reducing (love that word!!) Hope the bloods work out ok, Xeloda is certinaly doing it’s stuff.

Helen - good luck with the wig, I hope you see another one you like… I keep staring at mine like it’s a cat sitting in the corner of the room!!! think I’m going a bit potty… I know I’ll wear it when the time comes, I haven’t “Bonded” with it yet!!

Angela - thanks for keeping us updated about Sharon. It’s great you’re going for the recon, have they given you an idea of how long the waiting list is? x

Pauline, Jo, Fuzzyface, Tracy and YvoYvo, hope you are all keeping fine… X

I can do Lunch Wed - Fri this week, but need to know by tonight as I have a couple of friends wanting to meet up too before I get hit with next chemo. I’m off down to Ayr to my Dad’s at the weekend, he wants to go shopping to his favourite shop B&Q for gardening supplies, oh what Joy!!
