Anyone from East Kilbride/Glasgow area?

SHARON - You sound as though your still struggling with side effects of your surgery. Hope you get on OK when you see surgeon and puts your mind at ease.
HELEN -

HELEN - sorry - don’t know what happened must have clicked on submit by mistake. What a cheek getting a row for putting on 1lb Think I put on a couple of pounds every 3 weeks. Don’t let it worry you - you’ll lose it when you start chemo again.

Hi Sharon
Sorry to hear you’re still having a tough time with your back – just take it easy, its still really early days. At least you’re seeing the surgeon tomorrow – Good Luck, I hope it all goes OK.
My arm was really sore for about a month after my lumpectomy; I got cording in it and couldn’t straighten it as it was so painful. I ended up getting extra physio exercises and within a fortnight it was fine, just keep on with the exercises, even if they are a bit of a drag!

Don’t all laugh, but I’m thinking of joining weight watchers!

Helen

hi there

thanks for the warm welcome to your wee group.

as you can see im still awake at silly o’clock and my appointment is in less than 11 hours.

doesnt get any easier the worrying etc

but going to try and be positive it has more chance of being normal than cancer

but if its back then i guess ill just have to deal with it again.

Hi Lynda,

Will be thinking of you today, hope all goes well and you can relax tonight…

wasnt good news from my mammo recall… looks like a new primary in left side.

consultant said he was expecting to find fluid filled benign growth but instead was solid and appeared malignant :frowning:

biopsy result will be back on wed

cant believe im having to go through it all again so soon.

Hi Lynda,

Really sorry to hear about your news, can’t imagine how your feeling right now. This is a shity disease!!! and having been through it already just makes it worse.

I know it’ll seem like ages to wait again till Wednesday, what between the worry and the sleep depravation!!!

The only thing to try and do is keep busy to keep your mind off things (easier said than done I know).

Thinking about you and keeping everything crossed for Wednesday…

Fiona x ((((Hugs)))

Hi Pauline - so pleased your home already - that was quick

Lynda - so sorry to hear that your cancer has returned. Its just bugger isn’t it. Is this a new tumour or a secondary. I’m sure you’ve lots of questions and hope you get good support from hospital. It’s awful to think you have to go through it all again. I was DX with primary 1997 and secondary in 2005. Have had 3 lots of chemo and seems to work OK as it reduces tumour. It’s hard but you just have to get on with it Do you have family at home.

Helen - how are chemo side effects. They sometimes get worse as you go on. Hope you get looked after at weekend.

Sharon - how are you doing. Are you still at your Mums or home. Keep doing the exercises

Love to everyone else.
Enjoy your weekend. I am having my 7 year old niece to stay.
Sheila

Hi All

Hope everyone is doing ok. I’ve still feeling quite nauseous – popped to Tesco’s this morning and spent the whole time focusing on not being sick!

Pauline - Glad you’ve managed to get back home so soon – although my card probably arrived on the ward today – oops sorry. Just take it easy this weekend, get plenty of rest and don’t overdo things.

Lynda – Sorry to hear things aren’t looking too good - it’s just so crap. Try to stay positive – I know it’s not easy, but you’ve got through it once, you can do it again.

Sharon – How are you? Hope everything went well at your hospital appointment.

Sheila – I hope you have a lovely time with your niece – do you have anything nice planned?

Take Care All

Helen

hi sheila

the consultant thinks its a new primary… will find out on wed when i get biopsy results…

fingers crossed its is a new primary and hope it hasnt spread… but getting a new primary just 3 years of having the last one removed is a bit worrying.

guess ill know more on weds.

thanks for the support here.

Hi Girls

My god!! Can’t believe Pauline your out of hospital so soon, i was in for 2 weeks!! Good tho your home to your own comforts, I was going to pop up yest but I got delayed with appointment.

Didn’t get to see my surgeon just saw one of her sidekicks, I met him on the ward rounds, he says everything looking good, but I had a Seroma which I got drained. I’m healing up nicely just need to keep doing exercises. Got appointment again for Tues incase more fluid needs drained. Still at mums but I need to go home, won’t be soon tho.

Busy week next week, Appointment at Hairmyres twice (Musa and Yosef) and Royal once, seems like we are never away from hospitals at the moment.

Going to stay with sis tomorrow night, give my parents a break.

Have a good weekend

Hi Girls,

Feeling good!!! Mouth behaving itself, not 1 ulcer!! Yeehaa!! I have less energy, but am feeling really good. Got a busy week ahead, week 3 normally is. Going to lunch a couple of times and my brother is coming up Wed-Sun before he jets off to Chicago to record john martyn’s cd. Aidan came back last night so my peace was shattered! Now we know who the noisy one is!

Pauline and Sharon, great to hear you’re both keeping well. Hope you both heal really fast, get stuck into those exercises!!! Remember it’ll get tough before it gets better!! X

Helen- hope the sickness has passed? Eat all things Ginger. They say it really helps. I used to nibble Ginger crystals when pregnant, it really helped me then. What plans have you for Seren’s birthday? X

Lynda, hope you’re managing to relax a bit this weekend, have you been keeping busy? X

Sheila, you’ll be kept busy with a 7yr old!! They just say it as it is don’t they? Is she the chatty type? X

Yvonne, how’d things go the other day? Is your results ok? X

Annie, what have you been up to this weekend? X

Fuzzyface, hope you and the family are doing well? X

Love to everyone, hope you all have a nice weekend. X

Hi Guys

Pauline HOW COULD THEY KNOCK YOU BACK FOR DLA AFTER ALL YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH AND ARE GOING THROUGH!!!

All of this makes me angrier and angrier, we do need to start campaigning on behalf of us because NO ONE ELSE IS!!! On the plus side side you sound perky as ever, great writing style girl, and such wit!

Poor Sharon, you have been through it too, and then the dreaded meeting with the consultants. Are you pleased with your surgery though?? I am seeing Mr Musa tomorrow at 10.30 to discuss options, so I will be relying on your and Paulines suppport and input. Great that some of the s/e of chemo (sore mouth, I really suffered, like so many of us ets seem to be deminishing) but I am absolutly overwhelmed with fatigue)

Fiona, so glad you are felling better too, and Helan. I definitly found ginger to be a life saver. I bought the real crystalllied stuff, luckily I love the tast. Being naiseaous, or worse being sick is a phobia of mine so I do feel for you. Holland and Barrett so a ovely yoghurt covered ginger snack, which is very mild and yummy if the chunks are too hot.

By god, this thing takes it out of us!!!

It would be great if we could meet up soon, around all of our appointments.

i am getting the living room painted over the next 3 days £350 + cost of paint, but atleast I won’t be living in building site any more.

Linda, what a lousy break, possibly a recurrance. I am keeping myself going thinking this will end soon. I can only imagine that the fear of recurrance will be one more cancer gift from the disease that never stops giving. Any news? And how are you coping?

Anyways girls, will let you know the results from my meeetin with Mr Musa, Pauline, might be occuping yours, and Sharons bed soon!!! Wil hopefully have another wee break in Blackpool beforehand, if the family can cope with Nettie Van Winkle (keep falling asleep on the bus!)

Will speak soon, will it be possible to arrange a conference call so we can chat? I used to arrange that for meetings. Or poss video confernce (once my wee laptop is all better)?

I’ll post tomorrow. In the meantime, my sweet brethern, take care, rest, sleep well and be better. And yes Pauline, the greedy B*&^&&% politicains who have been ripping us off while improverising us when ill are FIRMLY in my sights. Press is calling me this week. I suggest that they mount a campaing to gather our stories of how we are treated, the amount we are expected to live, the lack of support from cummunity care, even the pittance we get as a one off grant from MacMillan are a revalation to everyone as people think our great Welfre State steps in in times of crisis. We only find out it now when we are plunged into crisis, and there is squat to support you.

Love you all, your humour and bravery are a testiment to your strengh.

Hugs

Annie xx

ps Fiona, went out for lunch yesterday in town, was meant to be going hear a great guitarist last night, Came in about 8ish, closed eyes coz thery were nippy, woke up at 2am. I DO NOT know how you mums do it. I praise you to everyone I meet. Oh had a couple of glasses of Rose yesterday, thought I’d never enjoy wine again. Being taking Guiness or (head hung in shame, Bacardi Breezers as they were the only things that tasted OK)

Hi Girls
How’s everyone ? Hope you’ve all had a good weekend and enjoyed the sun today.
I’m starting to feel OK, although I still don’t have an appetite – which probably isn’t a bad thing as I have no intention of putting on weight before my next chemo! Anyway, thanks for everyone’s advice, I’ll definitely invest in some ginger crystals before my next chemo; I just hate feeling sick.

I’ve got a doctors appointment this week to get my sick note renewed. I can’t believe that this is the 1st one I’ve ever had and I’m having to go and ask for another, but I really couldn’t envisage working right now, as I just don’t have any energy. Is everyone else who’s working off sick at the moment?

Pauline – you sound like you’re doing really great, just take it easy and keep doing the exercises.

Sharon – I hope you had a good night with your sister. How’s your back?

Fiona – Glad you’re SE’s are better this time. You’re definitely turning into a lady that does lunch – ha!, go for it. I hope you have a good time with your brother. What have you got planned for your birthday?

Sheila – How was your weekend with your niece? Are you worn out? Hope you had a lovely time.

Annie – Hope the decorating goes well and good luck with your appointment in the morning.

I hope everyone else is fine and taking it easy.

Hugs to All

Helenxx
