Hi Guys
Bit of a roller coaster this week, so sorry didn’t make it on Thur, or to Maggies on Friday.
Got call on Tue - a week before my surgery - to say that my bloods were low at my pre-op assessment a couple of weeks ago. They were 8.2, so the op was cancelled. Gave more blood on Thur, told to expect call after 10 on Friday, might have had to go in for transfusion on Friday(no wonder I was so awfully tired) That’s why I couldn’t make Maggie’s on Friday.
Anyway they are up to 10.9, so the op is back on for Thur. So much to do before I go in, including buying and having installed a new shower, as my existing one is just about done!
My laptop needs a new motherboard, so it’s now basically junk, less than a year old and cost me £800, cannot afford to replace and cursing the naff neff who baptised it with lemonade. He is brassic so no chance of replacing it. Could cry, so much expense this year, including a burst boiler, and naff all coming in courtesy of this useless shower who govern us. Keep trying to remember how many mirrors I smashed, ladders I walked under and cracks in the pavement I stepped on to have deserved this plethora of shiity luck since January!!!
I am just praying now that the margins are clear and I have full use of my left arm after the lymph surgery as my right arm is pretty compromised due to my accident. Finger crossed, eh?
Anyoldhow, that’s the news from the front guys. Will let you know how the surgery goes. fingers crossed and that’ll be another milestone is this journey passed.
BTW, you might have read in the papers about the restaurant serving Buckfast cheesecake? Yep, it’s 3 minutes from my house. make that our next venue??? Actually, it’s really superb (the restaurant, not the cheescake)
With love and best wishes to you all, hope your are all feeling better, because we are all having a hellish time of it just now, are we not? Be extra careful Fiona about the flu? Is there any advice, should we ask for the vaccination? Helen, Lesley, Lynda and Pauline - hope you splendid girls feel better soon. I keep telling myself “This too shall pass” - and it will. I already feel the worst effect of FEC gone, except for the sore, numb, feet and hands, and the tiredness now has a cause!!! It will be the same for all of you. I will probably have 2 courses of the Yew Tree chemo after surgery (I have been told to expect that) Any feedback on that girls? Forewarned is forearmed I feel.
Enjoy the rest of this lovely weekend my dear brethern, and speak soon.
Love and lollipops!!!
Annie xxxx
