Anyone in Westhill Aberdeenshire?

Hope you are all doing OK and getting through treatments.
I’m glad your decorating has gone well Alanaa- I have an ongoing saga of an unfinished kitchen since November. I’m on the second painter and the third plasterer as something seriously unfortunate and unpredictable keeps happening to stop them in their tracks. I’ve got used to cooking by lamplight now and its a great excuse not to hoover as the living room is full of all my kitchen stuff!
I’m happy to go with Amy’s suggestion for 21st -thanks Amy.
We will all need to wear a daffodil or something so can identify each other.

Keep smiling!

Hi All

Was just thinking i could book a table in my name so that we don’t all have to wear pink handkerchiefs!!! If we decide where we fancy going then I can book something for 1pm.

xx

Hello ladies,

I will go with the flow, I don’t mind where we eat at all. Take your pick!

Chemo number two yesterday and it was totally different to the first one. I felt so awful last night. Not so good today either but better than last night. Have to go and geta Neulasta injection today as neuts were so low. Had to have bloods redone yesterday too. Didn’t think it was going ahead at one point. Nevermind, two down four to go! I will get there!

Alanna good to hear your wound is better.

George, I was shocked at my weight increase lol. But it is much better to put on than lose whilst going through this I suppose.

Good evening to you all

Amy I am also very happy to go with the flow for the lunch venue.

Ann I do hope you are feeling a bit better later this evening or tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

Hugs to you all from

Alanaa and Fat Cat xx

Hi Ladies

A bit rough around the edges today! That the TAX all done tho, half way there!!

Ann was lovely to meet you too on Monday, hope you are feeling a bit better.

Any advise welcome from you ladies having FEC first. Due to my last chemo being postponed for ear infection I am now getting my 1st FEC on the 26th and am heading to Aviemore with our 4 kids for the week on the 30th. Hope I can do it, they all looking forward to it.

I am happy to go with the majority for lunch too. I love Italian and have heard good reports about wagammamas too.

Nic xx

Congratulations Nic - if you’ve survived Tac, FEC will be a piece of cake!! Different, sickness more but less fatigue and generally hung around less long - I found anyway!!

Just changed my Macmillan appt so free 21st - happy to go with flow as a comparitive Union Square virgin. Having said that, we were at Chiquitos Tuesday - in gap between dentist and annual routine mammogram - joy! - and wasn’t impressed - by any of appts!!. Well, actually I was. I neve rthought I’d say the 4 picture mammogram was easy, but it seems as you have more of them it does get easier - you find you can relax cos you know it helps and I actually wasn’t to bothered - I remember my first ones- I was on annual mammograms for IBIS trial before dx - and feeling sore for days after.

Nina

Hi all

Nic I’m no help to you as I’ve never had FEC. I’m sure you will be fine if you got on ok with Tax. I’m about to start capecitabine next week which is oral chemo!! Yipeee no needles, this is very good news as I have no veins left anyway!

I will book a table for 8 people (does that cover everyone?) at Prezzo in Union Square for 1pm under Murray. Really looking forward to meeting everyone.

That’s great Amy. Looking forward to it.

Nicola, I have only had the 2 Fec so far. First one was okay, quite a bit of nausea but it passed. I have found the second dose worse, don’t know if it could be because my neuts were low? Or the Neulasta injection? I suppose everyone is different? Hopefully this will pass too. I should see you again at your next one as I will be in for my bloods again.

Nina, glad you got your appt changed. I think that is all of us managing the 21st - yay

Thinking of all you ladies with your chemo- doesn’t sound too nice but keep being brave -you will make it!
I just have 10 days to wait for my year appointment - can’t believe a year has passed – hope it doesn’t get put off again- I am so looking forward to getting my get out of jail free card.

Went to see a film at Union Square last week- The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel with Judi Dench- if you want some good light hearted entertainment I thoroughly recommend it. Brilliant cast -brilliant acting.

Enjoy your weekend and make sure you are kind to yourselves.

Good evening to you all

Hello Ladies,

a wee bit quiet here over the last few days. I do hope you are all okay and dealing with your individual treatments well. Glad to report that my wound is getting so much better now and hopefully I will be able to start the rads sessions next month as planned. Doing okay with the Femara and no side effects as yet (long may it last).
Fat Cat is full of the joys of spring at the moment, meaning that she is actually active for a whooping 2 hours in the day. The rest is still the same as ever, sprawling over the sofa (including me) and just relaxing. To be a cat …

Is the lunch still on for next week?

Hugs and love from

Alanaa and Fat Cat xxxx

Hi all

Just called Prezzo to book a table for us and they don’t take bookings! We could meet outside the restaurant at 1pm if that suits everyone?

Alanaa glad you are getting on ok with Femara. The side effects I had took a while to develope but they were not too bad. The most noticeable is stiff joints expecially when you wake up in the morning and you can’t bend your fingers! Once you get moving this disappears.

I just started oral chemo today as Femara didn’t work for me. Don’t let that put you off though I have heard alot of good reviews about it and know people that have been taking it for years. Feels very strange taking chemo in tablet form then coming into work as if nothing has happened!! It’s very nice to be free of needles!

Looking forward to meeting you call next week

Car, you appt is just about here. I am going to cinema next weekend so will keep that film in mind.

Alanaa, good to hear you are doing well (and fat cat)

Amy, that is fine with me. Looking forward to it.

I am now into second week after chemo number two. Been given anti biotics today. My arm is infected :(. Nevermind, I am sure they will work soon. It is quite painful.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Ann x

Hi Ladies

Glad to report that I am feeling much better again now. SE from TAX 3 were worse than previous two. Was breathless and much more tired than before.

Amy - Looking forward to lunch and hope the oral chemo is going well for you.

Ann - hope the antibiotics kick in and your arm feels better soon.

Alanna - Glad your wound finally behaving and healing up.

Car - Good luck for your year apptmt.

Nina - I hope your right about FEC

I am heading into ARI today for ultasound and scan to see if tumour has shrunk any. Not too sure as to me it feels softer but not smaller. Just hoping im wrong and it has shrunk a bit too.

Nic xx

Good afternoon

Hello Ladies, would you be so kind and give me an idea where the restaurant is in Aberdeen for next Tuesday. All I know is the way to and from the ARI and by the looks of it that is where I will start off from.

Hope you are all doing okay

Love Alanaa and Fat Cat xxx

Hi Alaana

I’d be happy to meet you anywhere in town that you are familiar with and accompany you to the restaurant if you like (at least we know what one another looks like). Let me know what you think.

Sorry haven’t been on for a while hope everyone is well.

Regards

Hello ladies

It is quiet on here. Hope everyone is doing okay.

I am feeling good just now, into my third week. Halfway there next week, the time does go past really quick.

Looking forward to meeting you all Wednesday.

Ann x

Well I’m looking forward to Wednesday!! Preapring for it by sleeping - the ‘only’ problem I have these days is 100% lack of energy and teh ability to sleep for Scotland!!

An example - we have a flat in Linlithgow my husband used to use for work before I was dx, since when he’s been working from home. Our tenant who’s been no trouble has left the flat, and we’re putting it on the market - landlording a place 300 ,ile round trip away is no fun! I spent a little under 1.5 hours cleaninjg a bit - you know, paint work, bathroom, the things young guys don’t notice. came back up here, got home about 6. I was shattered - needed help out of car and up stairs. Next afternoon I stirred at about 3.15 - yup, 21 hours later. Got up, stayed up til about 8 and then slept thru til 10.30 next day! My usual need is 13 or 14 hours - but other than that I’m fine!

So just be warned - if a head hits a plate of food at lunchtime, that will be me!!

Hello and good to catch up with everyone.
Just one sleep to go now before my appointment so let’s hope I have a big smile on Wednesday.
Had a Shiatsu at Clan on Saturday which was lovely.
I can’t believe how lovely the weather has been - the sunshine gives you vital Vitamin D3 which is reportedly a cancer fighter so soak it up while you can.
