No problem Nic. Let me know when you are feeling a bit better and fancy a meet and hopefully some others will be up for it too!

I kind of feel a bit of a ‘fraud’ here - nothing anyones said, just - I think - you’re all proiamry ladies and I’m secondary - sniff! But it does mean I’ve been there and done that and got the t shirt, and can hopefully offer some advice occasionally!!
I’d be up for T and cake - I’ve taken early retirement so definitely a lady who lunches!!
Nina
Nicz, what time you there Monday? I am up in the morning for my bloods.
I too would be up for coffee and cake!
Nina, we are all in this together and hopefully we all can help each other. No way are you a fraud on here. I can’t begin to imagine what you have been through since diagnosed with secondaries but admire how you always seem to be upbeat on here.
Ann x
Ann - I am booked in for 10am monday, as long as bloods OK friday. So fingers crossed I should be there when you in for your bloods. Will have my sister with me.
Nina - I agree with what Ann says, definately no fraud!
Coffee and cake meet up looking good!

Good evening to you all
Had my app yesterday with the Onco. and have been given Femara (anyone had it and knows what to expect?) for the next 5 years. Going for a bone scan at some point to make sure I don’t break up in small pieces to soon. Follow up app in 4 weeks to see how my wound is doing. I could bang my head against the wall at times with the lenght of time it takes to heal. Optimistic outlook is about another 4 - 6 weeks. After that the rads x 15 will commence.
Dear me coffee and cake does sound lovely - I am trying very hard at the moment to watch the weight (build for comfort not for speed) and have managed to get rid of 5 pounds. To be honest not so much due to strong mindset but loss of appetite.
Hope you are all fine and that the chemo ladies are doing okay.
Hugs to you all from
Alanaa and Fat Cat xxxx
Hello everyone
Nice to hear your updates and how your week has gone so far.
Nicz- must have been scarey for you being so dizzy and sick- inner ear infections can do that -hope its cleared up now.
Nina - its lovely having you popping on with your words of wisdom and as Ann says we are all in this together whatever stage we are at!!
Where would suit us all to meet for coffee?
I’m a bit more tied with work but could always take an early or late lunch break to join you.
Alanaa - like you I am trying hard to steer away from the cakes - I found it easier to eat healthily when I was off work -harder now I’m back. Not sure about Femara- I am on Tamoxifen and it settled down eventually although I think your body takes time to adjust. How will you cope with the long journey every day for your rads? I had 15 plus two booster doses at end. I made a chart and crossed off each day until it was the last one! The parking was the worst bit. Other hospitals give you a parking pass for the duration of your treatment but at ARI its just pot luck.
Another lovely day for gardening Georgie- just hope if March comes in like a lamb it will not go out like a lion!
Take care

Hi Nina you are definately no fraud cos if you are so am I!! I have secondary in lymph nodes so your not alone, where are your secondaries?
Alanaa I’m taking Letrozole which is the same thing and get on great. No major side effects so far. Have been taking it for 3 months now and nothing more than a few hot flushes to contend with. I find it much better than Tamoxifen. I have a scan next week so will let you know if it is working.
I also work so can do a lunchtime meet if that suits everyone better. Can also do evenings and weekends. Union square has some nice coffee places, not sure where everyone is so don’t know where is handy for you all.

this may be late information, but the person looking for info in Westhill, please know that there is CLAN in the centre of Aberdeen and they can direct you to groups.
Once again sorry if this is very old news…
I’m not in Aberdeen, my sister loves there and brought me great leaflets form clan including ‘mummy’s lump’ for reading with my kids.
best of luck,
Clare
Hi Clare, CLAN is great. I regularly go to the drop in sessions and have the treatments they offer. I have met some lovely people there too. We are lucky to have it here.
Nicola, my appt is 10.30 so will see you. Although wont know which one is you lol.
If I am correct, the week commencing 19th March is the chemo ladies good week. Georgie i am guessing you are due on the Friday 23rd? So if that fits in with the other ladies we could meet up one day that week? Just a thought but I am able to meet most days.
Ann xx
How about Wed 21st March at 13:00 at Union Square for coffee/lunch?
Does that suit everyone?
Clan has been my saving grace too - they provide a great service for the much neglected holistic aspect of healing!
sounds good to me. I can take a late lunch.

That date and time suits me. Hope everyone else can make it too.

Would love to join you, just have to see about a lift and how my wound is behaving.
Hugs to all

Hi Ladies
Don’t know where the week has gone seem to have been busy but not getting very much done. Spent another 5 hours yesterday at ARI. Had to have bloods done again before chemo but only one more to go - whoohoo! Feeling a bit washed out today but not too bad.
Wed 21st would be good for me too and it would be great to meet up with as many of you who can make it.
Hope this finds everyone well.

I’ll try to arrange my MacMillan nurse (Joyce if anyone else sees her) from our current 2.30 appt on 21 to make whatever kind of food is on offer!!
I’m only recently - I typed that and then realised it’s actually 6 months! - secondary diagnosed, and thankfully it’s ‘only’ bones - my spine in various places, spreading into my hips. Initial dx resulted in lumpectomy Apr 09, and 15 out of 20 lymph nodes being affected, so I was pretty sure I was going to go down with secondaries - tho I know many with similar node results haven’t - it’s just I have a strong family history and prefer to prepare for the worst so I can be pleasantly surprised.
Nina
Good afternoon ladies,
Glad to see most of us can make the 21st. Now then, important question, where shall we eat? ![]()
Was good to meet you today Nicola, hope all went well and the next few days are okay for you. I couldn’t believe I had put on weight in 3 weeks, yikes. I went for a wee jog this avo so burned a few calories lol.
Nina, my nurse is Jane but I think I did see Joyce once.
I have my second dose of chemo tomorrow. How time flies!

Hi
Just had a look at the website and oh so many to choose from. I love anything to do with food so happy to go with the majority.
Ann - I put on over 2kilos in three weeks but hoping when I start radiotherapy that the weather will be good and and I can walk to ARI every day for the three weeks. Well thats what I’m telling myself!
Good luck for tomorrow.

Good evening to you all
Had a wonderfull weekend with my son and one of my girls. They got the hall papered and the carpet put down in no time. Just have to wait for my border to arrive (coming from Canada) before I can pick the matching paint for the wallpaper.
My wound is doing so much better now and hopefully rads will be able to start in April. Started Femara 2 weeks ago and no side effects so far.
Any idea re the venue for the 21st yet?
Gentle hug to all of you from
Alanaa and Fat Cat xxxx
was having a think and Wagamamas is nice and they have big tables if there is a few of us. If not Prezzo is also nice if people would rather Italian.
