So glad I went to the LGFB meeting this afternoon. It was just great to do something normal and the hints and tips have been much appreciated.

What a pleasure it has been to chat and meet with Georgie. She is just lovely.

Car53 - sounds like you are having a trying time. Hope your skin heals soon and it won’t be too long before you are out of the waiting room with excellent results. Just hang on in there.
Ann - Hope your 1st juicing went well. LGFG didn’t finish until after 4pm so thought you would be away by then.
Nicola - sorry you didn’t make it to LGFG but make sure you get yourself booked into another. Wonderful ladies, tips and don’t forget the fab goodie bag!
Alanaa - great meeting you but alas no time to talk but I’m sure we can make up for that.

Car53 - for your split skin go and see the practice nurse at the surgery and get some Mepiliex - helped me so much when I was raw! It’s self adhesive - which sopunds painful but isn’t and molds so well to the skin. It was someone in radiotherapy who recommended it to me - you just have to happen to see the right person, cos a lot don’t know what to suggest for raw skin.

Georgie, I left ward 15 about 4pm. Good to hear you enjoyed the session too. I don’t think I will get on one until chemo is finished.
All went well at the appointment. I have been suffering from nausea but the anti-sickness tablets do help for a while. 1 down 5 to go!!

hope you are all doing okay today. Just popped up to see if there is any news from Nicola. I am feeling horrid at present. Got a nasty cold coming on and just have no energy at all.
Wound coming on slowly but surely, it will just take a long time to heal. Back on the sofa to feel sorry for myself.

Sorry your not feeling too good at the moment Alanaa - hope the cold doesn’t linger and that your wound continues to heal.
Ann - I found sipping ginger ale and eating ginger nuts/Nairns ginger stem biscuits helped with the queasy feeling. Missed the brandy in the ginger ale though. Keep drinking the water even if your up umpteen times during the night it does help to flush out the chemicals.

Sorry I missed the LGFG session, my youngest daughter has had a horrid sickness bug. So far I seem to have escaped getting it. I will see if I can go along to another one. This next week is my ‘good’ week before TAX no 3 on the 27th.

Alanaa, sorry to hear you are not feeling well at the moment.
Thanks for the tips Georgie. The nausea seems to be getting a bit better. I have bought in ginger beer and ginger biscuits so will give them a try. Other than that I feel okay, was a bit weepy earlier but I suppose that is just natural. How are you feeling?

Seems a lot of you have been having rough times too. My latest is an eye infection!
Hope next week is a more positive one for us all and all colds and tummy bugs go away! Spring is nearly here!
Ginger is really effective to stop you feeling sick- hope it works for you Ann. I love anything with ginger so no hardship!
Thanks to broomsticklady for advice on split skin- it seems to be healing a bit now following a few no bra days!
The snow looks beautiful today and at least it is Sunday so no need to face the roads.

Ann hope you will be able to sleep tonight without disruptions. I am still not sleeping to well so know what you are going throught. It is the most infuriating situation.
Poor Car hope your eye will get better soon.
Nicola hope your little girl is better now and you did not catch the bug.
Elaine try not to catch any of the nasty bugs going around at present.
Still have the cold and feel just exhausted. Thank goodness the snow is supposed to go away tomorrow and it is going to get warmer for a few days.

Hope you’re all feeling better and enjoying the warmer weather. I’m hoping to get out in the garden sometime this week and start the big tidy up.
Was in town today to meet a work colleague for lunch. Caught up on the gossip and even had a glass of wine - it was great just being normal for an hour or so. No hospital appointments until next week
Anyone have hospital appointments this week? I should really scroll back and read posts but often when I do that my post disappears and I’m too tired now to type it all again.

Car - hope the eye infection has cleared up. Can’t believe you have to wait until 13th March for results? Why so long?
Alanaa - hope your cold has cleared up. At least the snow has now gone and the temperature is back up again.
Georgie - I am not back to hospital until a week on Monday for my bloods. You can nearly see the chemo finishing line :o)
My first 3 days post first chemo were the worst. Well saying worst, it was just the nausea and I think the steroid tablets had a lot to do with it. I was so weepy. Since then I have been fine, tired with lack of sleep but other than that okay. Off to CLAN today for reflexology. My daughter coming along too for a treatment.

Georgie - Glad you enjoyed your lunch, I too love doing ‘normal’ things and forgetting about all this for a wee while. I have the hospital on friday this week for bloods before TAX no 3 on monday.

I have had such a good week I am really not looking forward to feeling yucky again after chemo on monday but at the same time I will be half way, 3 down 3 to go. Last TAX on monday then onto FEC after that.

Good to hear everyone is moving a wee bit closer to the elusive finishing line!
Well done for getting through another week with all the ups and downs. Glad Nicz was able to enjoy Maiya’s birthday and Georgie had lovely normal lunch with wine! Hold on to those positives!
Ann: How lovely that your daughter can get a treatment at Clan too! Such a good idea. It will make you feel better knowing you are sharing this too!
I have had to cancel my last shiatsu appointment due to work meeting which I couldn’t miss as it was about cutbacks and job losses! It’s a very stressful place to be just now.
Today a letter came in from the hospital shifting my precious consultant results appointment back from 13th to 20th March so another week added on to the waiting game.
My eye infection has progressed into a full blown nasty cold so sniffing my way through it with the olbas oil. Hope your cold is shifting Alanaa. I am still not sleeping well but getting lots of reading done at 3am.
What a lovely balmy day it was today. Lots of crocuses out in my garden. I will be joining Georgie in the garden tidy up soon.

Good afternoon Ladies
it is a bit quiet here at the moment. Hope you are all doing okay and have no hick ups in your treatment etc.
My wound is still 5cm in depth open so I am a bit down as it takes so long to improve. Good news is that the nurse is only coming every 2nd day now so that is a step in the right direction.
Going to see the onc tomorrow to get my treatment for the rads sorted - well that if of course if this damn wound will ever close.
Fat Cat is doing fine and is getting more lazy by the day. She is in her element just cuddling up on the sofa with me and doing nothing. To be a cat is all I have to say.

Drizzly rain here in Aberdeen but not cold. Temperature supposed to be 17 degrees tomorrow so fingers crossed.
Alanaa you must be so frustrated with your open wound and the time it is taking to heal. Its always a waiting game with all of us before we can move on to the next stage. Hope you will be able to start rads soon.
Car53 hope your cold doesn’t last too long and that time moves quickly until your onc appointment.
Ann and Nicola this is also chemo week for me. Bloods on Wed and juice on Friday all being well. Here’s hoping we all sail through it with minimal se’s.
Made a start in the garden and filled the brown bin so will have to wait until its emptied now before doing any more - well thats my excuse.

I am doing fine, 2 weeks in. Not back until next Monday for bloods then chemo number 2 on tuesday. Just back from a walk with the dog. The rain has stopped at last!

I didn’t get my 3rd chemo yesterday! I landed up in ward 17 on sunday with what they think is an inner ear infection. Was horribly dizzy, violently sick and stotting about all over the place. My chemo has been postponed for a week. So I am in on friday to get my bloods re-checked then hopefully TAX no 3 on Mon 5th.

I had alot of dizziness with tax, would come on for a few days in my second week after every cycle. It’s not very nice, hope you feel a bit better. At least you have another week to recover before the next lot.

Have been thinking of you and a meet up but at the moment I am not leaving the house due to the dizziness and looking like I’m drunk the way I am stotting about. lol!
