Apri 2016 chemo starting? Please join!

Thanks Sarah xx

Oh heck Lou just shows  you really do have to be careful.  Hope you are feeling better soon. I saw the oncologist yesterday  and have  been switched  to weekly paclitaxel as he feels it will be kinder and hopefully  keep me out of hospital. Xxx

Fingers crossed Helly the weekly regime will be kinder. X

Hi tanyette i had lumpectomy and mammoplasty in feb xnd have thd same as you still! It really freaks me out but i am assured it can take up to 12 months before it settlescsnd youvgey used to what ix the new “normal”. Xxx

Lou how are you doing?xx

Much improved thanks Helly. Hope all ok with you x

Awh,glad to here your feeling better xx

Hi tanyette sorry just seen this been a busy few days!! Yes I have thickening and lumpiness my scar is where my tumour was as it was in my nipple and that’s where the scar is but I’ve been told you can have scar tissue anywhere in the Breast. Mine is lumpy and heavier than my other one, I’ve had examinations and an ultrasound because I was panicky and it’s just scar tissue. Hope this helps xx

Tanyette i had an oncoplastic surgeon and the mammoplasty is basically a reduction (iam not that well endowed). My tumour was 34mm havent a clue how they do it but nipple looks like was taken off (reattached) and tumour removed so i havent got an incision scar where they took the tumour from but it feels thick/lumpy where the tumour was ,very freaky!best of look for your treatment i am nearing the end of chemo now and can see the rnd in sight xxx

Just seen you had alot of core biopsies i had 6 so i dont think that helped either! . My path report did mention reaction at the biopsy site x

Hi OAD 2nd T not due till 27th so I am hoping it will go ahead as planned. Think I been unlucky to pick up an infection as the oral thrush I am conscious is a pretty common side effect. I will be using the mouth wash religiously going forward. The diagnosis of pneumonia really shocked me and has made me realise perhaps I was doing too much. I have pretty much been able to function as normal including working from home. However clearly the culmaltive effect of the Chemo as taken hold.I sm going to take it easy and listen to my body. Like you the infection came on very quickly and thankfully I was treated very quickly. Hope everyone as had a good weekend. We can do this. Xxx

Absolutely OAD, I am counting them down. 2 to go and an end in sight. X

Hi everyone, hope we are all ok this weekend? Today I did race for life with about 50 friends, colleagues, daughters friends and their mums. Collectively we have raised around £2500, so a pretty amazing day I feel fantastic. Last chemo to come on Tuesday which will be another amazing achievement! We can do this!!! Xx

Fantastic Sarah that is amazing. Your nearly there now. Out of interest what was your hair like with the cold cap on T. I feel like I have lost more on my first T than I did with the FEC. It is becoming difficult to hide the growing bald spot in the middle of my scalp. X

Hi Lou with EC I lost it in bigger amounts for less time with T I lose less daily but it’s every day. I’ve not got any bald spots (lots of thick hair) but it’s thinner on top. My friend got me some stuff which attaches to your hair fibres and thickens them which I’ve used for prom and awards eve, special occasions. Will send you the details tomorrow, it works and comes in a choice of colours xx

Lou, just checking you see how you are, hope your feeling better? X

Much better thanks Helly. See Oncology Consultant Tuesday and hoping subject to bloods number 5 goes ahead as planned first Heceptin injection to go with the 2nd T. How are you doing?
Lou x

Thanks OAD I know you have been having problems I feel for you. It’s certainly challenging going through the treatment. Lou x

Glad to hear your feeling better Lou, fingers crossed for next week. I had first weekly paclitaxel wednesday instead of last T and ip to now don’t feel to bad but started with some cracking aches and pains yesterday and dont hsve the injections to blame this time!xxx

Hope it lasts Helly xx
