@pollyanna1 I meant to say - after my last round of EC I had a red face and neck/upper chest for a couple days. Felt quite warm there and my upper arms. I’m usually really pale so my family were laughing at the fact I looked like I had a bit of colour for a change
Hi Everyone,
Had a few days off the forum as felt like a bit of a fraud after the fail of chemo last Friday. I still don’t have an update on what the plan is going forward which is irritating me a bit as it’s making me antsy and worried. The chemo nurse suggested they might try Docetaxel again which seems madness given I swelled up like a balloon but we shall see I did manage the Phesgo (Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab) last week. My goodness, my skin is like a teenagers, I’ve got acne everywhere and it’s so sore!!! Has anyone else suffered with this and have any tips?
Hope that everyone is doing well with their chemo so far, do we stay in this group or do we move to the May group? I’m assuming we stay here?
Soph xx
Omg what an absolute trooper you are still breast feeding during treatment
Sorry to hear you have a tender scalp & it is reassuring with the benefits, hears hoping you can still manage it & just think how amazing your new cancer free hair will look
Well done on doing your 3rd cycle, mine is every 2 weeks (for the moment) & just feel they are racing in
Have a great day xx
What about the blister plasters you can get for sore heals ? Or call the cancer number they may have better solutions - but whatever you do, do not burst them, the fluid will reabsorb back into your body - means its a feet up day & table service for meals & drinks
Hope it settles soon xx
Ive managed 9hrs, well up once for a wee but straight back to sleep again & feeling “full off beans” just now this was not the case 1st time round.
Trying to get the fluids in today, currently had a cup of tea, now on some fresh orange juice & have ribena next on the drinking list (not that I can taste any of these) also made ribena & some orange lollys as these helped my mouth the last time.
Keep taking what ever helps you for as long as you need them.
Am on EC & 1st time had the red face, coukd be too early yet but nothing so far this morning, its so strange with side effects & how 1 cycle can be so different to the next.
Am going to have a lazy day today & see what delights are on netflix, ideas welcome ladies xx
Sounds just likes me, my dad called with me today and said, “you’ve a great colour about you, much better than than that grey colour you were” have to laugh, older people just come out with it
Glad to hear you slept well, it really does help. Ive noticed side effects different this time. One of those things take it day by day. I’ve upped my water intake and think this is helping I’ve binged watch this last few days ‘seven seconds’ really enjoyed it. Xx
Aawww bless, it’s nice (in a way) that there are others with the same side effects & we can all bounce off each other.
Yeah am at the Western every 2 wks - oh I didn’t know St John’s done chemo as well. Good luck hugs being sent for today hope it goes well for you
The mouthwash has already started working for me, used it last night & the morning & my mouths not as “duck pout” feeling, so definitely recommend this xx
Its so strange isn’t it, but yes can only do day by day, but we will all get there.
Ooohhh I will give this a wee watch, thank you xx
@belle1 am booked into LGFB skincare course at Maggies in the western on 7th May, not sure if this is something you’d be interested in or if there are spaces, but if you’re there would be lovely to say hello xx
Hi @tsoph, please don’t feel like a fraud this is a hard enough journey to be on. I totally understand as after my 1st chemo I took an abscess,UTI and then my sister died suddenly and pain of that has been the greatest . I felt like everyone’s chemo was going to plan. I didn’t want to come on here and burden people as I didn’t want to get people down but this forum has been a lifeline as I’m putting on a brave face at home knowing everyone is worrying about me.
If anything I’ve taken out of this is do this one day at a time and we’ll get there.
Go easy on yourself

@ivegotthis01 yeah neither did I so it was a nice surprise to save me the travel back and forth to the WG! That’s good to know about the mouth wash too☺️ chemo done just waiting the last hour for the cool cap to finish off
Aw I’m booked onto another course that day but I’m doing it on 13th at Forth Valley (less travel for me)
Afternoon ladies, just home from 3rd EC chemo, all went ok, just a bit fuzzy if that makes sense? Going to have a lazy afternoon of doing nothing , hope you are all ok xx
Oh nice, what 1 have you booked into ?
Hope your feeling ok after your 3rd cycle.
Am feeling sleepy now but if I disco nap now, I won’t sleep tonight
Hope you’re night goes well xx
Oh no no no! I’ve gone back and re read my post - sorry that’s not what I meant 🫨 Certainly not breastfeeding! I’ve deleted the comment now, written in the early hours of this morning, as I can see it made no sense whatsoever
@ivegotthis01 I’ve booked onto the virtual Hair Loss, Scalp Care & New Growth one for Monday☺️ feeling ok after chemo today. Just a bit hyper from the steroids and fuzzy head. Took an anti sickness tablet as soon as I got home this time and managed a dinner🙌🏻 if I still feel ok and can manage a bit of hubbys birthday cake later I’ll be delighted lol!
Has anyone found a comfortable, cool sleep hat? The ones I’ve bought online are quite tight and beginning to rub my ears.
The other thing I’d like is a bamboo beanie type hat - the sun will come out soon surely!!
I’ve been recommended Trendco but online can’t find that many options.
Thanks gang!
Oh go on, have that bit cake. Hope he’s had a good day
Oh fab, can you let me know how you get on with this course xx
Thanks, going to order one of these x
