Flat indeed since i had issues with my lumpectomy if reconstruction is to happen itās delayed.
Took me a bit to get my head around it, but ive done my grieving and definitely looking forward to the end which is relatively nearā¦
Warm hugs with hopes every day is a little bit easier for you x
Warm hugs
Hi @lilly123 ,
If Iām not mistaken youāre also having your mastectomy on Wednesday? I will be thinking of you How are you feeling? How is your mother in law doing?

Hi All
@bluesatsuma wishing you a speedy recovery I hope you have some good pain relief if not get onto your GP and get some. Xx
@dhmb Iv been at the hospital today having a magnesium infusion as dangerous ly low apparently. I wondered why I felt so rough!
My mother in law is having the same next Wednesday:
Iām having a lumpectomy and node removal on Wednesday., so minor compared to those who have to have a mastectomy. I will be thinking of you xx
Iām going to choose a wig tomorrow before my wire insertion and tracer injection. Itās never ending isnt it! Role on spring xx
@lilly123
Good luck for tomorrow.
I had the same as you on the 20th and Iām recovering well.
Kind regards
Gill
All good, back in my room and should go home around 5pm. Consultant said went really well and i could pick up on his facial expression that was indded the case x
Hope youāre doing well @lilly123 ā¦ thoughts and prayers with you lovely. Fingers and toes crossed for you
Thank you @bigpickle as I start radiotherapy next Thursday. Only issues I have just now are the aching joints since starting letrozole. Anyone know if it gets better in time? Hair is starting to grow more but am looking like a hedgehog! xx
@dhmb and @bluesatsuma Just wanted to wish you both all the best for a good recovery after your mastectomies. Youāve been through the really hard bit but need time to be kind to yourself now. Take care
@lilly123. hope your op went well. Iāve had those procedures and all is well healed now so you should be fine . Strangely enough I now prefer my operated boob to the other one . I still have numbness under my arm but apparently thatās normal for quite a number of months but I can say you do get used to it. All the best xx
Thank you kindly @anne3
Im staying the night as consultant is concerned about swelling and fluid build up, but at least Iām in the right place. No pain yet but Iām sure it will comeā¦ oh wellā¦
An eventful day to say the least:
-mastectomy
-son had an allergic reaction at school and huby had to go collect him while i was in theater
-daughter got her first paid photography job, when really well
What else ??? Oh yeah and itās the Chinese New Year
How are you doing @bluesatsuma? Finger , toes and whatever more you can think of crossed for you lovely xx
Wishing everyone a peaceful evening xx
Hi
Good luck for radiotherapy. My treated boob just looks suntanned now! I havenāt had fatigue nor a skin reaction. It is 3 weeks since full breast treatment and 2 weeks since targeted boost. I have moisturised 3 times daily with flamigel and exposed the treated side to the air when possible.
I too am having a bit of joint pain due to letrozole usually worse first thing in a morning. I still manage to walk the dog though.
Regards
Hi @dhmb hopefully youāll be allowed home today. Did you have drains in? Swelling is pretty expected so hopefully it will settle soon for you.
Iām doing ok thanks, but the seromas are troublesome. The one along DIEP scar is huge and i look pregnant. The one in reconstructed breast is now all around the side to back. Itās making my post surgery bras pop open like the incredible hulk as they are all velcro. I keep ringing the reconstruction nurses but its always an answer phone and they never call back. The wounds themselves are healing well but Iām worried that my seromas will start leaking throughā¦if thats even a thing! Mobility wise, Iām able to walk upright and potter about, but tire quickly.
@bigpickle itās good to hear youāve done so well with the radiotherapy. I will get some flamigel for when i have mine. Sounds like its helped? Are you finished on you treatments now?
Anyone else on here having or had a DIEP?
X
Morning
Yes the flamigel certainly has helped. I saw it mentioned on this forum and it was highly recommended. I am now having Herceptin injections every 3 weeks until the end of September plus letrozole for 5 years. My onc also said that when I see him in march he will put me on bisphosphonates for my bones. At the moment apart from a bit of joint pain I am not suffering from side effects too much.
Morning beautiful peps on my phone
Im definitely being discharged today, the consultant is happtly there has been no progress, so all good to go home
Such good news @bigpickle , really great to hear, may your journey always continue like that
@bluesatsuma sorry to hear youāre having issues with seromas. You definitely sould be looked atā¦ whats the point of giving out a contact when it connects to nowhere???
Would contacting your GP nurse help? I mean if the number given is uselessā¦ keep in touch and let us know how youāre getting on please. A soft gentle hug
Wishing everyone a positive day xx
So glad youāre getting home today @dhmb. Youāll feel so much better there.
Finally a reconstruction nurse returned my call. Sheās seeing me at 9 tomorrow to see if i need draining. Progress.
Hope everyone had a good day. X
Thatās so good @bluesatsuma , makes you feel more supported Iām sure. Good luck for tomorrow
Huge hugs
