Gosh that was a day and half, I didn’t get my op until four had some
Issues with my oxygen levels. Had loads of morphine as my arm was so painful.
Couldn’t sleep all night and ended up getting an ambulance called as I was having trouble breathing. So Iv had about an hour today.
Iv got a huge numb area under my arm but I also have an extremely painful area at the back
Of my arm that when I pull my arm back or lean on my hand the pain is excruciating and it keep forgetting as it’s my right arm. I don’t understand why the pain is there though as I wouldn’t have thought it was anywhere near the lymph nodes has anyone else’s had this or something similar? Xx
Hi @bluesatsuma
I have been prescribed morphine tablets as I also have fibromyalgia which makes pain more heightened for me. Iv had it all day and increased the does tonight so hoping for a good night sleep.
Hi there! Can I join this group. My partner started Chemotherapy in August 2024 and just had lumpectomy. We are now moving into two weeks of radiation followed by another year of Kladcya maintainence chemotherapy ( every 3 weeks). A bit of a shocker for us, but I hope this group can provide support.
Had mastectomy no reconstruction on Wednesday, discharged the following day and as soon as i got home started to hear a swooshing sound… yep seroma that aparently is comon with mastectomy. Im feeling ok, not really in pain just discomfort and lack of patience and the swooshing really gets to me and ive been a coward… i could take off the binder but i haven’t… scared to take it off as there are no dressings, just the glue and solvable stiches aparently… haven’t had a proper look yet.
Did anyone feel like this like damed if you do and if you don’t? Id like to take the binder off but think that my chest won’t be sheilded if i do… losing my marbles really… oh well…
@dhmb thinking of you, it must be overwhelming. Maybe just wait a bit? I had the whooshing noise after my lumpectomy but seems it’s normal Good luck, look after yourself xx
I put my big girl pants on and took the binder off… was getting uncomfortable is an understatement so a bit better now, just have to keep up with the meds and rest. For a chang I’m my priority.
@dhmb gosh well done, it must be daunting, but at least if it’s more comfortable that’s good. Comfort is always my main motivation too! Yes be kind to yourself and put yourself first!
I’m ok, just waiting for radiotherapy to start next week and getting used to achey joints from letrozole, but that’s minor in comparison to yours. Sleep well tonight! xx
@dhmb well done, another hurdle jumped. Im riddled with seromas after my mastectomy and reconstruction last week. Vast majority resolve within a few weeks so don’t worry. Hope you’re feeling ok and not in pain. X
Feeling ok as i actually slept well for a change, and that does makes such a difference! I’m dreading and looking forward to my shower if that even makes sense, but slooooooooly I’ll get there in all fairness, i have no pain just feeling restricted and more comfortable when resting to be honest. One step at a time, i mean we’ve all overcome such lengths already… we just need to keep going
How are you feeling @bluesatsuma? What have the nurses said so far? Hope everything is going according to plan
Warm hugs to everyone, wishing a peaceful Sunday xx
I would say to that @anne3 : keep going lovely… some days aren’t easy and dam right hard but yet you are here and you have people that care… that speaks volumes, so… happy anniversary… kinda… look how far you have come and what you have achieved so far… keep going
@anne3 and @dhmb thank you both for thinking of me.
All is okay though I have the snottiest cold and sinusitis. It hurts so much to cough because of the diep stitches. I still have the seromas, one might be a haematoma. They tried to drain the seroma on friday but nothing came out so wednesday they’re trying again with ultrasound. I also have a small blister from the dressing under my reconstructed breast which is rubbing on bra and seeping plasma. I dont think it’s infected.
Tomorrow, i see oncologist about radiotherapy and tamoxifen. Wednesday for seroma and to have dressings removed. It’s all going okay.
@anne3…on December 3rd it was my official 1 year diagnosis anniversary. Tomorrow will be 14 months. Did you expect your treatment to take so long? I certainly didn’t - i was told lumpectomy, radiotherapy and then tamoxifen. Genuinely thought I’d be cancer free in 3 months.
