hello all

what was that about hope you all had lots of choccys at easter, i didn`t get one, not to bothered though as i could do with losing some weight,

thanks esme and rach as re to my son, he has been perscribed cetirizine, was abit miffed when the doc said tablets, his skin is very flacky now but still looks red underneath, i do have some hydromol so have put that on, i think it was a allergic reaction, and the one thing that was new to michael was radox bubble bath, so he wont be bathing in that again,

well debs i too had a tiny trim which cost me £13 will go to the barbers next time, and yes i too have the fuzzy face, also my arm and boob did begin to feel abit less sore, that was until i bought "just dance " on the wii, anyone else got it, its fab,

caro , have a fantastic holiday,

thinking of all my cp buddies and all other lovely ladies on here

Hi everyone,

So much to read but delighted to see everyone is doing well and reclaiming their lives. Just back from 10 weeks in Sunny South Africa - enjoy Caro!- where i started a get fit mission. Seemed like mission impossible at first but walked at best speed 6kms every morning against a stop watch and gradually added 100 metre jogs until we were doing 1100 metres! !st 6 days were agont then hey ho slow improvements and started to feel better. 318kms total at end of hols… and a LITTLE slimmer i think. Also have the furry face; anyone asked about it? Will it go!!!

Lots of love to us furry bunnies hop hop

Wow gerties, just trawled my way through 6 pages of posts! You lot do chops! Just back from hols in St Lucia - was fab and just what the Doc ordered. Re-charged my batteries ready for work next week (eeek). Just doing 2 x 3 hour days and then building it up. Feeling ok, although had a horrid cold just before I went which took a while to shift. Diet is now starting in earnest. Caro, Sandals is lethal, there is just sooooo much food and drink.
Well done Lulu on getting the job!
Hope you are all doing ok gerties, what do you think of the hair?? I am liking it, it’s very dark. Will visit FB tomorrow and catch up with you all.
Much love
Jayney

Hello ladies,i had my scan yest so ovarys and wumb ok …it looks like my periods return back -i think someone here was asking ,but we shall see next months ,lady from us yest say she can see my right ovary ovulating …we are off to Ibiza and Mallorca tomm for 7 days, cant wait to go ,it it is year for all of us and it has been so long jurney that it did seem endless last year BUT we have done it…that is my new hair …Sally i will recomend the hair color from health shop where they are all natural as i had mine done month ago and it has been succes …all the best to everyone Christina

christina glad your scan was normal… now you can really enjoy your holiday.

jayneypops its lovely to see you back again… iv missed you hunny… your holiday looks fabuloso… good luck with work.

walt and i are going to Belgium for a weekend in may before i start my new job, not quite the Caribbean LOL.

Sally i think mine was just bleached using an ordinary dye but was just the ends that were done, but i think if you dying right to the roots your best to use something natural until you pass the 6 months post chemo stage.

chris cant believe how much energy you have had to do all that walking and jogging… im still a couch potato and looking forward to starting work just to motivate me to get off my butt and become more active.

im still on my low fat diet to help my cholesterol, got to get my bloods checked again on wed and start on 40mg simvastatin… being referred to the lipid clinic to get tested for familial hypercholestraemia gene… maybe im a supermutant.

found out i got the BRCA 2 from my dad even though there are no other episodes of ovarian or breast cancer for the 3 generations, but his brother is now gonna have a test too as his daughter (my cousin) is 33 and probably at an age where genetic BC would start to manifest.

loveeee huggles to all

hello gorgeous girlies
I am off for along weekend in the S of France on friday morning - kids going to the tennis, me to beach bliss x I will have to keep an eye out for the whaling fleet tho’
I hope to see the lymphoedema specialist on wed and not before time - I am now in so much pain day and night my arm is huge and my arm pit now hangs down and over my bra - so I have almost given up wearing one. I need a cup to fit under my arm cos I swear its a double D.
Hope to book a trip to Brittany in July - just a quick cheapy trip to a self catering apartment. I would love a small 2 bed apartment in Carnac for keeps you know? then i could let it to all my chums on here just enough to cover the mortgage not to make a profit - that would be good i think. fab man and I call it using my boob money for fun (as you know I got a small payout from my critical illness cover) We could use that as a deposit and then take out a french mortgage (fab man is french and italian you see) Anyhow its all pie in the sky at the mo.
love you all my darlings - nearly a year ago for me and the sh*t hitting the fan time of BC. Funny I wouldnt be here now if it wasnt for my docs and nurses - hugs xRx

Have a great time Rach - re-charge those batteries. Place in France sounds fab, you have one interested gertie here!

You too Lulu, Belgium sounds lovely. Enjoy. You still have so much to get your head round. How you coping and are you any further forward. Your new job sounds fab - you will be great.

Christina, so glad scans were clear and your hair looks fab.
Hope the rest of you gerties are all ok?
Herceptin No 9 today, so halfway through now! Had heart scan so get results next time. No piriton this time as it makes me feel very sleepy, but still had to come home and sleep for 3 hours! Strange stuff. Work on Wed for me - now that will be a shock to the system!
xxx

Ohhh forgot to say, at last Rach, you are seeing the lymph nurse! My hand has been fab, no swelling at all on hols or on the flight (I did wear the glove on the flight), but since I have been home it has really swollen, I suppose I have been doing more but I have been wearing the glove. Its a bit of a nightmare. It too gets painful and is very weak. I am a good girl and doing my exercises and using hand weights etc so doing all I can (bandaging at night etc). Arm is fine though, just hand that is the bu**er. Good job it’s my left or I would be scupered! Hope you get on ok and get a bit of relief.
xx

Hi girls,
well had a fab party, made even better cos Pauline and Julie were there!! Look on facebk for pics!

Rach and Lulu hope you have good time when away.
Jayney your hols looks fab! I wear my glove on and off, when it comes up I wear it again, think it will be an ongoing problem, wondering if some of my aches are due to lymphodeama too!

Have enjoyed my break from work with the Easter hols, definately needed it!

Christina glad everything is good for you, your hair looks great,
Chris good to hear from you too!

lots of love to all Debs xxx

Got ask my darling gerties - are any of you turning into an emotional monster? I am springing back and forth between being happy and confident and ‘normal’ to down right awful snappy miserable and struggling to get out of bed.
I dont want to go to the Docs and say hey about 50% of the time I am gr8 and 50% so depressed you might want to send me for immediate psychiatric help cos I am lethal with plates and mugs; they keep hitting wall and floors as I fling them with all the force I can muster.
Not only am I feeling bloody awful but my best Denby dinner service has taken a right old battering I can tell you - I only have 2 out of 8 side plates left that match the rest and as for wine glasses - if you pop round to me for a glass of wine you will get in an IKEA kids plastic tumbler.
All joking aside I can only think my emotional lability is due to the tamoxifen and that this time last yr I was ignorant and innocent of the sh*t that was about to happen. If others are feeling the same then i know I am all right!
Girls love ya and up yr viva xxxxxx

Hello my friends

I am sorry for not posting for so long - blooming work keeps getting in the way of my social life!!

Far too many posts for me to comment individually, but wanted to say well done to everyone who has passed their One Year Anniversary - I have that to look forward to next month. Have decided to take the day off work and go somewhere nice with John and Jai.

MummyT - you are totally not alone in feeling like an emotional monster and I’m sure plenty of others on here will agree. I am still on anti-depressants and am not even thinking about coming off them for a while yet. I think the Tamoxifen coupled with everything we have been through in the past year or so is definitely affecting us emotionally. I feel sorry for John cos I keep taking it out on him, especially just before my period is due (which at the moment is every two weeks or every eight weeks!!). Just remember, that we might be feeling a bit crappy, but at least we’re here to tell the tale lol.

Lots of love to you all

Shenagh xxxxxxx

P.S. Any update on our October break???

Hi Rachel, no advice really just take the moods as they come and if you want to chuck your plates and stuff around go ahead… why the hell not… you can always get a takeaway when the last of your plates is gone, lol.

I’m a moody cow at the best of times so dont know if I have mood swings or not. I can say though I’ve never really been angry, more sad, but a good doze of The Simpsons normally cheers me up, DOH…

Best wishes to everyone
