Hi ladies
Well, I hear you are having some great weather in the UK, so it looks like youâll be out enjoying the sun, and why not - donât forget the sun cream.
Our weather has been 35 deg today so Iâve been swimming, I seem to spend most of the day dripping wet from sweat, all the poor animals (3 cats, 2 dogs, 5 chickens and a guinea pig) seem to be flaking out too. Iâve been doing some gardening today, and we ended up eating some kale, parsnips, carrots, runners, swede and sugar snaps and they were all delicious. The little baby cauliâs are starting to pop out so am excited about that as Iâve read they are difficult to grow. I am hoping to get the freezer full of different veg, most of the things we are trying to grow are things you canât find easily here in France. I also bake our bread, I know France is renowned for its bread but TBH we like bread with oats and cereals in, which are difficult to buy here. I pop all the ingredients into the bread machine and 3 hours later, voila!
I had a scare at the hospital on Friday when I mentioned to the doc about this persistent cough I have and the breathlessness, so far Iâve been putting it down to Herceptin, so after my 17th dose of H I was rushed down to xray for a chest pic, then had to go back to see the dr for results. I was bricking it and had convinced myself of the worst, particularly as it had all happened so quick. Anyway, lungs are fine nothing showed up so it might be an infection, but Iâve also got to go for an echocardiogram just to check on heart. Relief, wow I nearly kissed the taxi driver!!!
Lily how is the reflux? Hope it hasnât been keeping you up at night, do you think it could partially be a stress thing â I mean your treatment/return to work/tiredness and life in general? Thanks for your reply on my arm pain thread, maybe you are right and perhaps I do do (isnât that a song??) too much. Itâs hard to cut down though when so much needs doing and last year as you know was a wipe out. Iâm trying to make up for lost time, but arenât we all.
Everyday - how are you getting on with your arm sleeve now the weather has turned warmer there? It must be so uncomfortable. Hope your strawberries taste delicious, yummy, strawberries and cream. We do have strawberries, but not enough for us all to have them at one time.
Nicky â I live in south west France, the Dordogne in the heart of the countryside with cows being our nearest neighbours. I love the peace and quiet, its a small village but surprisingly a mixture of French, English, Dutch and even Irish people also live here. Did your daughter get off to Bulgaria ok? Hope she didnât leave her passport at home like our son did recently when he was due to fly out to see us!
Bevy my tips for gardening are, wear a good pair of leather gloves, have a soft cushion or pillow to sit on, and donât cry when you see all the weeds! LOL I havenât been told NOT to garden, in fact all I was told was not to lift heavy things, wear gloves for cooking and gardening, and thatâs about it. For the rest they said carry on as normal. I only do as much as I feel up to, usually about an hour at a time is enough for me. Re the cramp, at the hospital on Friday I had a blood test taken for infection (because of the coughing) and also for magnesium because a deficiency in that can cause cramp.
Well thatâs my lot for now, hi to everyone else and hope the sun doesnât get the better of you all.
Take care
P xx
