not been doing my walking at moment its far too hot, and i can tell im putting some of the weight back on, had a few naughties today as well.that was one thing when i was up to the walking you dont have so much time to think of food. just found out an old lady who i always speak to isnt very well, and my neighbour said she didnt tell me because of how id been, i dont know what difference it would have made, i wouldnt have felt any worse, but people seem to want to protect us at times.
ive got a mega mobile phone bill at the moment, i normally pay ÂŁ10 a month, for 300 text and 300 minutes, and dont normally use them all.
so silly me let my son whos 14 use it as well and now weve gone over and i have a bill of 42 pounds this month, and about another 25 to go on next month, needless to say he aint touching my phone again.
thats one good thing about chatting on here, at least it doesnt cost a fortune.
lily 2000
i too hate hot cars , i was asking hubby only the other day if you can get a car that as air conditioning on timer, so that it cools it before you get in car, he says you can, maybe another idea for pressie, hate to think of cost, but you have been talking diamonds, and im sure a cool car, is more of a girls best friend! ha ha.
nicky 08
hope you keeping well.
bevvy
hope you keeping well too.
and lots of love and best wishes to everyone, i havnt mentioned.x
hi all, soz ive been missing done a really large post the other day then lost it - i know copy it first!!! Sitting here ready for bed with a fan on me, boy the heat is getting to me, florida yes here at work yuk, im so hot at m=night with the heat and my âtropical momentsâ - phew, got a lumpy rash that keeps apearing and my sleeve is yuk.
hope everyone has a fab weekend, im off to the X factor auditions and got some priority tickets so - oh what to wear and oh dermot and simon!!! yippeee xxx
Hi,
Lisa Iâd love to have gone to X factor, do you have to travel far? Speaking of travelling, hubby said why didnât we all find a mid way point and all meet some time and stay overnight. Do you think there is a mid way point and would anyone come? he said if it was somewhere interesting like York he would go to look around and I could just talk and talk - as if?? Sorry to hear you are so hot Lisa and I know what you mean except I get pain rather than sweat. That sleeve would be out the window on these hot days, well done for sticking with it. Any news on your recon? Both the ladies I work with who had Bc are having recons very soon, one is just a boost to even them up and she is having lipofil. Apparently they wonât take tissue from her tummy incase she ever needs a mx so they are going for the inside of the top of her legs. it sounds yowee to me but will be very interested to see how she gets on. The other friend has a 7 hour op and 5 - 9 days in hospital and 4 drains she says. Quite a big thing to talk yourself into. Will let you know if she agrees to the surgery. There is a 6 week wait.
Lorraine, I get a bit bothered by people vetting what they tell me too.Still you canât win as people being nosey and peering at my chest annoys me too!I have to say that having 3 phone bills of over ÂŁ200 each time one of the girls fell in love with some boy they canât even remember now, I am sympathetic to how annoyed you are. Took us ages to get our monthly payments to a reasonable amount. Never let any of them have a contract phone until they could sign for their own bills. Guess that didnât work as I had to pay off MDâs bill last month lol. The cool car sound expensive !! Mind you I just saw a beach hut on the coast for sale near us and might amuse myself insisting only that will do tomorrow ha ha. I used to think they looked wonderful brewing up tea all squashed in an â expensive shedâ.
better go
Lily x
Hi ladies
Phew - itâs been a hot one! I even worked an extra half day this week so I could sit in the airconditioned offices Plus that and an extra half dayâs pay helped my week! Weâre cooling down a bit here but nothing like the storms etc as predicted just some light drizzle which is no good for anyone or my garden. YD got back early this morning from her hols. You really donât want to know what they got up to but I can tell you the booze in Bulgaria is very cheap. She now needs a detox and to sleep for a few days. Nice to have her back though, even if sheâs sleeping right now.
We had an inter department 6 a side football âtournamentâ yesterday evening. I know I must be mad what with bone mets but hey ho. It was a great laugh and we had a girly team from our dept (Marketing). I donât think the other, more serious (men) teams noticed we played 7 a side to their 6! And I managed to score a goal - woo hoo.
Lisa - enjoy X factor - and donât go doing anything daft with the celebs/panel - youâll only end up on You Tube LOL.
Lily - have a great anniversary - at least you can enjoy a nice meal this year, unlike last. Have you treated yourself yet? I think you deserve it. Only a few more days left at school I assume. Bet it was horrible in the heat so maybe a bit more pleasant for the rest of term. We could meet up at a mid way point if we all got organised, not sure how easy this would be but we could give it a go.
Lorraine - phone bills - donât talk to me about ph bills! Both Dâs run them up like nobodies business as theyâre both on contract until they run out. I have the last laugh as I took the extra from their pocket money each month until it was paid back. Will be changing to pay as you go when these run out and also to get them in their names now their over 18. Hope the weather cools down for you so you can get out there waking again. I managed to go out early for my mini hike to get the newspaper but would have gone out any later - way too hot.
Bev, Julia, Peacock and Angie hope you are all keeping well.
Iâm still sorting out how I feel on these tablet bisphos - they do cause me indigestion etc (as it says on the pack) and I have avoided dairy as Lorraine mentioned so Iâm giving it a bit longer and see if things settle down otherwise it will be back to the IV for me Otherwise OK. I also saw the genetics counsellor a week or so ago and my 2 Dâs were sure sheâd say I had the defective genes. However from my family history it is extremely unlikely and she explained why. However as we have a âclusterâ in our family tree they are doing research about this and think there are other genes that, in certain combinations, would pre dispose them to BC. This research will take about 10 yrs before they have any conclusions but Iâm going to give a blood sample so I can be logged onto the database for this research. It also means that my genes will be kept indefinitely so if any future female relations want to check at any time they can do. I did learn that the pathology results and samples are destroyed after a time which is why they keep all this data separately. Just a little bit of info for you all
Anyway, have a fab weekend, speak soon
Nicky x
little cooler today, so welcoming. but got the fan down from loft just in case.
nicky 08
you are brave playing footy, im afraid of breaking bones, cos onc keeps drilling it in to me, be careful. but saying that i climbed up into the loft today, to get something i needed.
i must be lucky, my tabs havnt given me any trouble, shame you having problems.
lily 2000
them little huts cost mega bucks you know? ive always said id like a shed at the bottom of the garden, just to do up how i want, play any music i like, soft cushions, plenty of books, and lots of pretty bits and peices, but no one else allowed in, but im still waiting. hope you have lots of fun anyway,
lisaf
hope you enjoy xfactor, my son went to britians got talent, and really enjoyed it. are you keeping a secret from us? are you auditioning? hope your lymphodema improving, mines a nuisance lately. got a pouch under arm now as well as tummy. erghhhhhhhhhhhh
Hi,
Lorraine our enthusiasm for small wooden buildings is not shared by my Victor either!!!Still havenât decided so I will take a bit of time to think about it. Nicky how bad is the indigestion compared to vein digging and hospital visits? Hoping it will settle for you on its own. Congrats on scoring a goal.Bet the blokes didnât like you scoring lol. I was very interested about the genetics part, as you know my docs are not keen to follow it up for me. Do you mind me asking why it is so unlikely? Brilliant news for the girls so far though. Keep me posted how that all goes.
Must go as nearly asleep typing. More visitors today and tomorrow, hubbies again!
Lily x
whoa missed a bit so need to catch up but words football are scary!!!
X Factor was fantastic, we were close and seen about 10 people go through, didnt get home till 3.30am!!!
Simon was lovely, as soon as the cameras were off he went over to a girl in a wheelchair and gave her a hug and talked to her and as soon as filming was finished he went straight back over - he was lovely and dermot was nice too!! Cheryl looked fab as usual and was a really nice day - sureal!
Well, im defo up for a meet up but forewarn you I am really shy! It would be great if it was somewhere I could do via train as fatty arm doesnt want to drive too far!!! However, I do know I live in back of beyond so I am willing to travel further, oh nice food and chat, yippee!!!
Well, dont know what Ive misse, Lily was it your anniversayr this weekend - if so what did you ask for?!?
Hope eveyrone doing okay- off to bawl a bit more at secret millionaire even though i seen before then cheer up with Alan Carr!!!
Happy sunday all - Im scarily cheery this week - think its cos the lads from the homeless hostel are getting paid for doing my garden and its not a professional job but gonna look great and can sit out for first time xxx
Hi Lisa,
so you are cheery and you have a garden full of blokes, wonder why that is lol. Crikey you wonât be able to hang your undies out for days ha ha. Ok so to get the ball rolling tell us where a train would take you to - head south!! Anyone else feel like joining shout. Angie if you were keen to turn those cyber hugs into real ones let us know as we could all head to you. Totally understand anyone who canât manage it ot would, for their own reasons prefer to stay cyber. So no pressure to fight me for the puddings. Lisa you might be shy but at least we can all recognise you! Might have to wear a red rose and look like we are on a gay blind date ha ha. Spent most of my anniversary cooking roast for 12 people so pretty tired and have been baking hot most of the day. My pressie is on hold until I decide what I would like. Lots of cards today and flowers. Got the hump a bit when after I had been slaving away doing everything just about, some of them just wouldnât sit at the table as watching the tennis! Wondered why I had gone to so much trouble to keep everything hot. All enjoyed it so that was ok.
Lily x
I no Lily no washing being hung out!!! Mind you good job as was torrential all night up here.
We we will see who else up for it, Im fine to travel to anywhere and somewhere nice like you said such as York etc. would be nice - if Angie was up for travelling I could travel down and keep her company as where she lives is one of my nearest main stations, Angie hope you are doing okay.
Lily I too would be just a bit hacked off cooking for everyone on my anniversary you didnât plan that one very well! Still I hope you enjoyed it anyway. I read back through the posts and am very mpressed with your bladder control!! what an achievment. I went on a ramble yesterday and always have to dash off behind a bush halfway around. Still I was very pleased as I did about 8 miles although I was plainly the slowest walker amongst the group (and a lot of them are olde than me too) but hey ho at least I did it. Thanks Lily I had a lovely evening with our son and his girlfriend last week and fingers crossed so far the balcony tub is hanging on in there.
Lisa what a wonderful arrangement a garden full of men actually doing something useful too! I am very jealous. and the X factor sounded really good fun. Where did you have to go to for it?
A meet up with all would be lovely but not sure whether it would be possible for me as I am down in the depths of Kent. Still if I couldnât make it I am sure Lily would have my piece of cake! for me
Lorraine I looked up the website for beachhuts I think they look wonderful and would love to actually own one but I know they cost a fortune so it wont happen. Still may hire one sometime. Fortunately our phone bills have improved dramatically now our children no longer live at home. Bit drastic though to get rid of the kids in order to get the bills down!
We have friends staying with us next week for a few days so I suppose I have better open the door to our daughterâs bedroom and tidy the place up for them. Disgraceful but since the kids have gone (leaving a lot of their toot behind them) I just keep the doors closed. I definitely have a bungalow mentality and tidy up downstairs and never seem to make it upstairs thinking well no one apart from Hubby and I go up there.
lisaf
i dont believe it, are you having the hots for simon cowell? sounds like you had a good time, im glad. how great your getting your gardening done for you, you can just sit and supervise (their gardening skills that is!)
lily 2000
i will wait and see what your plans are for meeting up, i dont drive so i dont know if it will be possible. and hubby might have kittens if i leave him for a night. but i havnt completly ruled it out yet.
bevvy
beachuts look lovely dont they, did you see the prices, some start about ÂŁ14,000, it does seem a lot (maybe if we win the lottery).
Hi,
well Lorraine what a picture I have in my head, Victor having kittens!! Lol whan did it happen? Well I donât know if anything will come of the idea but I was so pleased to meet Nicky and feel the same about all you guys too. I can only manage school hols of course so that makes it high season in August or October half term and then oh no back to winter again!!
Bev I do really enjoy cooking for lots of people but 2 days on the trot with those numbers and in that heat was a bit much. I laughed about the bladder control as it completely went to pot while on chemo and I am glad it returned! I think I would fall over if I tried to bob behind a bush or go in my shoe ha ha! Had years of practice with my 4 needing to go at the worst possible moments on long journeys. Actually hubby is the worst now and says I thought people would like a comfort break and they all say no and he is the only one to get out. I like the bungalow plan, I definitely have that going on too. Nice to have friends to stay too. Lisa I think it is the power thing with Simon Cowell, it certainly couldnât be the clothes or the teeth lol. Nicky have you recovered from the suitcase of washing yet after the trip? I am getting quite excited about my holiday and keep buying large floaty wraps to cover bits up with. Went to see the doc and I am waiting to hear if he wants me to have jabs - he is checking up. It has to be this week so dreading any phone calls just in case. Also got onc visit later this month so more blood yuk. Everyone else locally seems to have gone on longer stretches much quicker than me. Not going to think about that one too much or paranoia will set in. Did you watch the programme tonight âmy breasts are killing meâ? I missed the start but was rivetted to the screen and the second part is on next Monday on 106 if you have sky. There was a poor girl on there of 23 with Bc and it had already gone to her spine. The presenter is high risk and was being checked out. She has an MRI scan next week. I thought it was done really sensitively and openly by the woman. Angie hi x x
Lily x
just popped on to see if anyone had seen my breast could kill me, i was aprehensive as you know I panic over anything but I did enjoy it, didnt want to tell my mates to watch but think they wish they did now, real insight - interesting as the genetic side is close to my family - a cousin left to test and if all clear then only me, my dad and uncle out of about 50 of us so thatâs fantastic news.
Lily I think its not next week the next one it said it was tomorrow at 9?!?! just checked now and its defo tomorrow!
Hope we can sort a meet up, I can travel to whereever im in party animal mode at the moment, especially if wine and nice food included lol!!!
Yippeee lads back tomorrow to work on garden again - its nice its costing me ÂŁ900 which my brother thinks is awful as he done my fence and decking no labour but dont want to put on him and so far 4 of them have worked dead hard for 2 days, another 2 maybe -give them a cuppa before work and butties left for lunch - cant explain but they inspire me, they life in a hostel and some of them have nothing yet they work so hard, so polite and total inspiration - they have nothing and my ÂŁ900 includes some stuff and labour for 4 people for about 6 days - thats next to nothing and they dont get a penny themseleves, goes into a pot for the lads to maybe go fishing or to the football, some of which have never had such experiences, gonna make it feel more worthwhile having the garden - spowtign now.
Well off to see plasie surgeon tomorrow - arrgghhh!!! Got a bra rash which aint pleastant and got a feeling might make me loose a few stone first - might be the kick in bum I need lol!!!
p.s. oh yes I do have a crush on Simon, defo not his looks or money, I like his honesty and in all fairness usually right, also think Im developing a chrush on Cheryl she looked fab and knows what sheâs doing !!!
Hi all
Well, at least we should all be feeling better now the weatherâs a bit cooler. Iâm so annoyed I missed the programme last night, I knew it was on but thought it was later in the week. Will have to check out any replays. I read an article by the presenter at the weekend and it was very sad as her Mum had died when she was 7 but she also said how it had made her as a person.
Iâll have to be quick with my posting as off to work in a while so, sorry if itâ's short and sweet!
Lisa - good luck today with visit, hope all goes well and you get the go ahead without being rapped across the knuckles Also, fab about X factor, itâs always good to see things live isnât it, and also how they make the programmes. Not sure about the girlie crush tho! Stick with Simon. Hope the garden is coming on and, good for you, to help some less fortunate people out, Iâm sure they will all appreciate the rewards and also just doing something that someone also appreciates. Better than paying someone who doesnât need the money so much.
Lily - hope you are recovering from the feeding frenzy! I donât mind cooking etc for people but hate the clearing up! Iâm not doing that much atm as my bloomin dishwasher is still not fixed and Iâm losing patience now. Itâs a long story but the longer it goes on the more I hope they will replace it. Patience is a virtue! The stuff you asked about genetics was that, when my family tree was examined, it didnât follow the trend for defective genes. ie they would have appeared in more generations than my Mum and I, plus we have no âextraâ factors such as the ones Lisa and Angie have. However the blood test for the other research will prove it one way or the other. Also, regarding a meet up, I would love to but I really canât see me being able to before October! This sounds a bit odd but we have a main holiday plus a few things we have on with family and weâve also got to sort out accomodation for uni plus get my girls off to uni by the end of September. I think we only have a couple of weekends free between now and then and we will need to be at home for them. The week is a bit difficult as Iâll be working when not off galavanting, trying to pay for these trips! However keep me up to date if it does happen, you never know!
Lorraine - hope youâre back with the walking now itâs cooler and youâre keeping well.
Bev - I darenât go any where near my EDâs bedroom - itâs a tip and I keep nagging her to sort it. Weâll get there one day! Hope your visitors donât make you work to hard. Itâs very difficult at times even if you know them really well, you always have to be âon dutyâ, so I discourage this as much as possible! Luckily most of our family are near enough just for an overnight stay and that also goes with most of our friends, so Iâm generally not asked very often.
Anyway, must dash now as itâs taken longer than I thought to do this. Hope everyone is OK, Iâm just getting over my aches for the football matches! Mind you Iâm not the only one, I think at least 5 from work have injuries! Maybe it wasnât such a good idea.
Take care ladies
Nicky x
hiya all, nicesties out of way first before I swear!!! How about a meet up later in year xmas shopping (as long as fat shops near by).
Well, sorry if I rant, dont read on if you have faith in NHS!!! Arrrgghh fâŠk, trying to calm down after being a walk over. I eventually (after them loosing it) got an appointment at Carlilse (hour away) for consultant who is from Newcastle but has surgery at carlisle too - my appointment was at 3.45pm, well i was still sitting there at 5.45pm, the idea was after meeting my breast surgeon that I might benefit from talking to the plastic surgeon about the options as mine only does recon using implant as is a cancer surgeon not a plastic surgeon - well he walked in (apologies for going on), said sorry for the delay I gave a nerovus laugh and said its okay, he said no its not, system and nhs crap just wait until want us to save 20% then will be worse but I dont care cos retireing, then asked me some questions as didnt have my file so said shouldnt even talk to me as dont have file, had a quick look and said oh could recond using back, asked about tummy option and went ohh thatâs major and to be honest system not working you should have seen a nurse in newcastle to discuss this stuff and I havent got time to talk to you about it and just walked out whilst I was getting dressed, no goodbye what do you want to do, nothing!!! Arrgh, stayed calm as mam was livid and girl outside was terrifed of seeing him so didnt want to say how shit he was but hell, do I really want him doing an op on me, he coldnt give a toss and no idea what to do now, wouldnt talk to me about it, thought I was going to get advice and know he was busy but felt so shit, seeing my BCN on Friday so will see what she says, rant over, sorry girls
Hi,
Lis so sorry you had a crappy time and I would be publically telling other staff working with him how unprofessional he was. I feel sick for you. I think you must now ask for a second opinion and insist on an onco plastic surgeon even if you have to catch a train to Christies. At least you will be seeing someone reputable and remember you have to live with the results of his surgery. You donât want to take any chances that it might need further ops. I caught the second programmme by chance and recorded both, although I missed the very start each time. I thought she was a very good choice as presenter and got really caught up in the programme. Good one looking after the guys in your garden and no you canât keep one lol.
Nicky sounds like our meet will have to be an idea for a bit longer and see how we all go. Good news about the family tree from the girlsâ point of view. Keep me posted how it pans out.
Gotta go its late
Lily x
Thanks lily and soz for rant girls just lost it a tad.
I thought programme was good, albeit it i know all my friends will text me tomorrow as say recons look good but having a recon as a precaution and skin sparing is lot less harsh and better results, they might think ive been twining - but the result for her at the end was as I suspected but was good i was really pleased for her and was sad at some other situations. Good to raise awareness though!
Hi Lisa
I donât blame you ranting. I think all Breast care staff should be women - then theyâd understand how important EVERYTHING is - not just the chemo and rads but our self esteem. I agree with Lily that you should look elsewhere but this is soooo exhausting and time consuming isnât it? Plus youâre no further forward, donâ t they realise you have a life to get on with? Rant all you like lovey
I missed both programmes but will try and catch up, Iâm sure theyâll be on a Sky player somewhere - just need to find it!
Take care everyone
Nicky x
