Hi,
Lisa hope you have a great singalong and dance at the concert. Little chap is staying the night and wants to play a game so must be quick. Why do you always feel so tired when you need to stay awake and then can’t sleep when nothing to do? Another little annoying thing
Have fun if you can
Lily x
Lily get to bed then! Im always shattered these days, headaches doing head in, literally lol!!! Well all here’s to a good weekend!!! Ive got lots of tidying up to do for around 20 people descending on me tomorrow!!! Im always the one organising so tomorrow as well as tidying up, got some 80’s t-shirts to make before our concert - oh and by the way its been torrential all day and tomorrow same maybe - oh its 10mins walk away and outside.
Hope eveyrone having a nice weekend.
From a happy Lisa (for a change!!) xx
hi everyone
lily 2000
good to have you back lily. i know what you mean about tiredness, i have had some problems with eldest and was upset, and dont seem to be able to get back on even track again. i just want sleep, sleep and more sleep. but i know if i get depressed i go like that, so ive let myself give in for 2 days, and know im pushing myself to get back to the land of the living. i too have had grandkids, but somehow you dont like to put them off when they want to play, yet i can remember telling my own kids, theyd have to wait. but then again we only see the little ones occasionally so you have to make the most of it. did u and victor manage to have some quality time together, if you know what i mean. ha ha,
lisaf
im trying to imagine how you make 80’s t.shirts? bet you have a great time. i thought you escaped this tiredness, seeing as your a young en, seriously how old are you. or is it a secret?
everyone else, be good, if you cant be good, be careful!
xx
Hi,
well Lorraine I am pondering whether to be good or be careful??? Actually I have been a bit out of character recently. I rarely drink but while on holiday drank more than I have for the last 10 years all together. My girls were amazed when I said we all went on a pub crawl and I had 3 Tequila sunrises and 5 shots, as you had to down one on arrival at each bar. We went to 5 bars, leaving the hotel at 7.30 pm and getting off the coach at 3.30 the next morning, I hadn’t realised quite what we were going to as it was a bring along the family and we had toddlers in buggies with us too. Well when in Rome… so I just joined in with everyone else. I think the reps mistook us for an 18 - 30 party lol. We also had games, which involved even more drinking, embarassingly bad karaoke and a live group. Never been on anything like that before but we all had a very ‘jolly’ time. One boy was sick all the way home but mostly everyone else either couldn’t remember a thing about it or was like me with a headache for the whole of the next day. I am wondering whether I am entering a mid-life crisis or a second teenage ha ha.
Sorry to hear you have been feeling low and had some worries too. Can you try to get out in the garden, which I know you enjoy, go for a nice walk or maybe get some good books out from the library to distract you? Chin up matey x.
Lisa hope your house was not creaking at the seams with all those guests lol. Bet woof was hiding away. Anyway I’m sure a great time was had by all and bet you have a sore throat from all the screaming and singing. We have a v festival near us soon and my son has a weekend pass. It cost £175, so expensive but that was camping as well and tons of great bands there. Guess who paid
Hi to everyone else reading and hope the sun is shining on you tomorrow as it always semms to make everything seem a little better
Lily x
hi everyone
thanks for the kind words lily. im starting to pick up now. i did spend time in garden, and read an interesting book and took myself out for the day, and had a me day. feel so much better. brought silly things for christmas pressies like ducks that have flashing lights in for the bath. theres one thing they certainly dont wrap me in cotton wool at our house! you wouldnt think id been ill. not that i want too much fuss, just a little bit, or maybe even some at all.
glad you had such a good hol, i would have been knocked out with them shots, saying that i did enjoy a tipple or two at my party.
been so desperate for choccie this week, i have demolished two pkts of choc drops which i brought for making cookies, bad or what!
lisaf
hope you enjoyed yourself at 80s bash. bet you beat lily in the drinks states?
god bless take care all x
Well im back in the land of living, just!!! Oh my god think ive got a crush on Rick Astley he was fantastic!!! WEll Lorraine glad you a bit better, im terrible for sleep, i cant get outa bed of a morning and lots of headaches but trying to push past it to keep going!!!
Well Lily, you can try to catch up with me but Im a tequilla sunrise (or just tequilla queen). Sometimes worried about my drinking but hey gotta enjoy while can eh!! Concert was fab, everyone descended on my house, robson loved it, think hes put weight out and soooo many empty bottles this morning (yuk), which is good job as refeshemnt situation was crap, waited hour for a pint!!! Made up for it though we went out into town donned in our 80’s t-shirts and drank far too much but hey ho!
Well few weeks off before my mates surprise 40th birthday with hummer and hollywoood party - arrgh - why am I always mrs organiser!!!
Well back to work tomorrow! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend )albeit it wet here)!! xx
p.s. Lorraine, turned 36 in January!!!
Hi,
Lorraine glad you are on the up. I did think we must have been writing for a long time for me to be able to predict what would pick you up so accurately :). So even if all your male natives are being a bit too macho and haven’t quite discovered empathy we all know exactly what you mean and will do our best to keep you smiling. With boys I find that sometimes you have to actually ask as they don’t predict female behaviour as well as girls can. Yes I am with you on the chocolate fest :). I am eating bars of galaxy, mars, milky way, minstrels, maltesers and soooo much more. Chocolate def makes you happy.
Lisa I could not keep up with anyone drinking as rarely do. I reckon they were almost alcohol free for me to manage so many. In Turkey there are only official measures for Reiki and beer and they can put as much or as little as they like in anything else. We found that with the cocktails. I would drink one happily and then nearly spit out the next as so much alcohol.Glad you and Robbie enjoyed the big visit and I think you should be expecting a headache from that lot :(.
Quite a busy day as YD talked me into going to a dog show with her and 3 mad dogs. I enjoyed spending the afternoon with her but had a bit of bother trying to control the 4 legged friends. I would just get myself settled with the lurcher on one side (Mum don’t let other dogs near as she is grumpy), the pointer (Mum he thinks he is a toy poodle and will try to get on your lap) and the staffy ( Mum hang on for dear life and don’t let him get to the pointer)when some well meaning passer by would shout oooh look at the lovely dogs and one or sometimes all of them would rush to greet them!!!At one point the staffy ran straight through my legs and under the deckchair and I was just stuck hanging on for dear life lol. Or Yd would need one to go in a class and the other 2 would try to see where she had gone. It took a large burger in my hand to get their attention and some obedience to my orders! It was absolutely cooking in the car on the way home. YD driving her very small black (so extra hot car), 2 big dogs stretched out in the back huffing and making seriously honky smells and me with mad max (the staffy) between my feet who was trying to leap on to my lap and lick me every 5 minutes and my head out the window searching for oxygen. YD says I think one of them needs to GO urgently. Yikes, drive faster. It was in aid of the children’s hospice so a great cause. Came home and had to lie down and sleep for an hour before 10 coming in for Sunday roast tonight. MD brought in her new boyfriend who was very nice and even better was excellent with little chap.
Night night all

hi everyone
lily2000
you really made me laugh, picturing you getting in a tussle with the dogs, can you imagine if there was a hidden camera. im on the up now, but boy its hard sometimes, like you said at least we understand each other and realise that we all have our ups and downs, thankfully at different times, so we can pick each other up, what would we have done without each other?
lisaf
your a wee lass still. glad the weekend went well,
at least you can blame the alcohol when you feel tired, im just getting old.
im normally in my jim jams about 10, and curled up with a good book,
your probably just opening another bottle. i wonder what youll be getting up to when you reach 47, probably not the same as me.
everyone take care. x
Hi,
Lorraine glad to hear you are feeling a bit more chirpy. Time to find yourself a hobby or something to do from the sound of it. When the boys all go back to school, etc it will be mighty quiet. Ever thought of volunteering? Anyway don’t know what I would have done without you at times either x
Went out to dinner with my local Bc pals so sitting up late as ate too much ‘for a change’. We do enjoy ourselves. We have a sort of tradition (not planned) that someone either gets them out (in the name of helping someone else) or takes their wig off and tonight was no exception - thank you ladies.
It is very quiet on our thread. Where is everyone?
Lonely Lily x
hi everyone
if there’s anyone there, can you here me? only joking. i was just picking up on what lily said about it being quiet on here.
lily 2000
i have been thinking of volunteering but, i never seem to have time. i have a lot of friends and family that need support at the moment. and hubby and i, galavant about such a lot still. we go out, sundays mondays and wednsdays, so i have to catch up on housework some of the other days and visit family cos they would be a groaning, so all in all im a busy bee, and somewhere try to fit in relaxation. but i think i perhaps need to organise time better, because some days i just wander around the shops, and thats dangerousssssssssssss! Been good today though only treated myself to some winter pansies, oh and ive had 3 chocs aghhhhhhhhhhhh, knew i shouldnt have brought them for my son, cos theres always a few missing before he gets them. coconut ruffles. yum yum.
hi all, glad okay, just leaving work, boy been shattered for days, headaches and no energy and arm feels like a lead balloon!!! never mind!!! offf home to get eyebrows waxed and sort out dads ipod!!!
Hi Buddies
Well, I’m back as well, although a bit jet lagged as we only landed this morning. We all had a fab time and it was so lovely to spend time as a family enjoying ourselves. I’ll do a longer update soon but, as with Lily, I’m climbing the washing mountain
Glad everyone seems to be having fun, especially Lisa - what are you like?? Hope you are feeling better in yourself Lorraine - sounds like you’ve been fed up with everything that is being dealt to you right now. Hope the aches and pains and the lows disappear.
Just a quick answer to the hot flushes question - I understand that the menopause (or lack of hormones) affects the part of the brain/body that regulates changes in body temperature. Therefore if you are in a hot country the extremes of changes in body temp are not so much as in a cooler country/situation. I googled this when I had my 1st menopause 5 yrs ago (thanks Zoladex) and I also found when I was on holiday in Greece I hardly had any but on my return they came back with a vengeance - and believe me they were really bad at the time. May have got this wrong but that’s what I understood happens.
Washing beckons, plus the 1st bit of ironing so will catch up again tomorrow between Hospital (surgeon for some unknown reason) and haircut.
Take care
Nicky xx

Nice picture!!! Lol!!! I feel like that all the time, he he!!
WElcome back Nicky - want all the gossip about the hols and let me know how you get on tomorrow!
Lily, god you gave me a laugh about the dogs, should lend you mine too.
Night all, logging off early for a change!!!
xx
Hi,
welcome back Nicky, I missed you as our hols crossed over. Glad to hear you had a great time and poo about the washing, literally lol. It is the socks from the journey out that are almost rigid and can stand up on their own that I find worst!!15 days in a plastic bag mouldering away yuk. How was Minnie and little chap will ask how Pluto is, his favourite? Was it all Disney or did you go to other places? Explanation on heat makes sense, so guess I better go straight back then, in the interests of my health :)Good luck with the doc.
Lisa glad my dog antics amused you. Just about recovered from it. Sorry about your headaches, I think it must be your tablets, what do you take? No panicking allowed!!My dog has been trying to hump my leg since he got back from kennels so I am wondering what he has been up to!! No wonder he goes in wagging his tail lol.
Lorraine love the pic and I will never be able to think of your Victor the same way now you have told me you are out galavanting (sp!). Where do you go? It was just an idea but I can see you have a lot going on. How is your sister getting on? Hoepfully improving and you had someone else poorly too, sorry can’t remember who.
I took YD and little chap to see Ice Age 3 today. Despite telling him what we were going to see, he still insisted on shouting out loudly non-stop - that’s the squirrel in ice age, thats ice age, thats ice age!! We always sit right in the front at the side to annoy others as little as possible. I have to laugh because the seat keeps trying to fold up with him still sitting on it and he gets really fed up with it.He loved the film and is off to the seside for a few days tomorrow so will be quiet. Dreaded results day for son this week and we are all anxious, keep everything crossed for him as he finds exams really difficult.
Nice to have you back Nick and what has happened to Julia and Peacock and soulgirl and anyone else I have not mentioned.
Have fun
Lily x x
Hi
Jetlag is fading thank goodness, although I didn’t suffer as much this time. Just got to the bottom of the washing pile - at least the sun is shining today so it will all get dry.
Right - answers:
We did just do Disney (and Universal) as that’s what the girls wanted. We stayed in one of the Disney resort hotels so could use all their transportation which made it alot easier and nicer for OH. There was a fab pool so we spent quite a bit of time there as well. Went to all the parks and loved Magic Kingdom - surprising as my 2D’s are so much older than when we 1st went but is has such a happy atmosphere. Loved the Animal Kingdom as well as it has so much to see other than the rides. We also went to Universal for bigger rides (not me as my BP is too high to allow it - boo hoo as I used to do them all) Also a bit of retail therapy and lots of lovely meals out. Walked and walked and then walked and walked some more - all in 90 C heat! Sweated alot as well! Got some great photos and all had a great time being together for a change as both D’s are often out at separate times. Any more details please ask - I could go on and on! Sorry Lily but no Mouse Ears - too much other shopping - mainly OH and the girls you understand?
Appt today was as I thought - a bit of a c*ck up! I had chased around for ages trying to find out why but was told my onc had requested it. Anyway it wasn’t necessary but I did get to ask the surgeon about a mastectomy - as I still have the regional recurrence. She said its not needed as it has already shrunk and any cells (BC) would have migrated already. If it was growing that would be a different matter - in more ways than one Have arranged to have bone scans, mammo and CT for a few weeks/months time as they are now due. Fingers crossed when I get them (or more importantly the results) that all is OK. Otherwise feeling good which is a bonus seeing how cr@p we all were last year, hope you are all feeling OK as well.
Lily - I’m amazed at your pub crawl - are you sure you weren’t in Bulgaria where my YD went? Sounds exactly what they all got up to! btw she was NOT impressed with the 21 age limit in USA!
Results day for us as well tomorrow - A2’s for YD. We’re all sure she has done well as it’s the way she is but hope that all her hard work rewards her with the grades she deserves. The only sad bit about it all will be her going away to Paris for 3 years (to Uni) - oh, well, it will just mean some frequent visits for OH and me. Just as well I spend so much in Mr Tesco’s Shop - I get so many Clubcard points it pays for my flights.
Well that’s my news, I hope everyone is doing well and keeping their spirits up.
Nicky xx
hi girlies,
good to have everyone back from their hols and great to hear you all had such a lovely time. I too have been enjoying the summer albiet here at home but I have a holiday booked for Sept to Devon so I am hoping the weather will be good then too. My job situation is not too clever at present as I am either working full on covering holidays (why I haven’t been on here) or have hardly anything at all. Very difficult as there aren’t the jobs out there at present so a bit stuck for options. I am just not looking forward to christmas there as we are expected to work christmas eve and boxing day which is a bit grim when other times I only get a few hours a week. Hopefully things will work out somehow.
Anyway good luck with the results for your offsprings exams and good luck nicky with your results.
Keep well everyone
Bev xx
hi everyone
lily 2000
sorry i hope i didnt sound rude, i know you were only making A suggestion, and its something i want to fit in soon anyway.
yesterday i had a wasp land on my arm (my op side) and he just sat and sat, i thought he might sting me, but for once i didnt panic and eventually he flew off, dont know what happens if you get stung, but i was grateful i didnt.

what a wonderful time you had. i read your having another bone scan how often do you have to have them. ive had two so far, and was supposed to be going for another, but i havnt heard nothing. hubby said maybe their holding it back cos its too close to the last. anyway i truly hope things are stable with you, dont forget to let us know. im picking up emotionally now but im having mega hot flushes, and few niggly pains, just keep telling myself everythings going to be ok, and if it aint at least ive lived everyday fully
love to everyone else. x
