Hi,
Lisa I agree with Peacock a pound lost is worth doing - and I didn’t, the shame Any news from the call yet? Peacock yes I mean my tamoxifen (nolvadex-d). I have never had the sweats or bad flushes but get a sort of prickly heat when I get hot and it must be the same thing.Nice range of hunks, wouldn’t say no lol. Unbelievable about the boiler I bet you were steaming too. How annoying but hopefully not dangerous. Do you have too much pressure? The trip sounded lovely and I am sure it was hard to leave them all behind. Hi Lorraine lots of luck with the scan tomorrow and the water works too. I always need to go if I think I can’t. I think not being able to eat is the worst for me though!Glad your little dear came over to brighten your day, sounds like good timing. Treacle pudding and a Grandaughter to visit, you must be floating. I think it is a very good idea to have something nice to eat if that makes you feel better and I would too.
So I had the most enormous fresh cream scone, strawberry jam and whipped cream today. So big I couldn’t manage it all. I also managed to go for a walk with Victor and little chap in a big National trust area we like. Victor and I both spent our childhood in the same village and like to go back there. My feet were ok as i find if I keep switching shoes they can cope with more. I don’t mean I had a bag of shoes on my shoulder and changed them every 100 metres ha ha!
Going to a masked ball on Saturday and really looking forward to it.
Take care

hi all, quick stop before bed. Not much gossip here exchanging a few texts but keeping it low key at mo as have no idea what he looks like and im already panicing about how you explain this cancer crap to other people and the one boob thing without scaring people off, yes I know not worth it if it bothers them but that’s so much easier to say to someone and deal with if you have been with them before hand etc. but someone you hardly know, how do you broach it.
Anyhow, masked ball sounds better than me dressing up as a devil.
Lorraine, good luck for tomorrow
Peacock, glad you had a nice visit to uk.
Well 1lb off and 4lb last week so 2 more to half a stone - no willpower though been so good and had no week school days for 3 weeks but relent and going out with bessie mate for a couple tomorrow, got things planned every week for ages now but not cancelling them, still want to enjoy myself and wierdly since holiday im a bit more positive and not panicing every day and worrying

Hi all: Been reading thru all your posts but have very little new to say. Sorry so many of you have horrid aches and pains and coughs and sneezes and … It must be the autumn dampness creeping up on us all. It is so mild you can’t work out whether it is good or not. I want a really cold spell to kill off all the bugs – you can always wrap up but this mild damp stuff is horrible!
I am fine – still off the Arimidex until I see my Onc on 9 Nov – still have finger pains so it doesn’t look like it’s the A that is causing it. I have that trigger finger thing in ring fingers on both hands and something like a chilblains pain in my LH little finger. Damned annoying but not desperate. My Onc did suggest putting me onto another drug but since the Arimidex doesn’t seem to cause me too much trouble, think I would rather stick with that.
Still keeping off the weight – hooraaaayy! – but no doubt going back on the Arimidex will have an effect on that – will just have to keep the eating under control.
Like you Lily, I still think about Angie – she was a star wasn’t she?
Hope things improve for all of us – we have had enough to put up with over the last couple of years, we don’t need any more!
Hugs to all
Julia
hi everyone
carrieann
i wonder whats the cause of trigger finger/thumb, my thumb is the same, sometimes it gets stuck straight and i have to crack it, yak. havnt seen onc lately so he doesnt know about that,
lily
hope you enjoying your break, i too love the national trust gardens etc. the leaves on the trees are beautiful this time of year, funny little things like that stand out more now.
well i was up at 7.30 for my water binge, by my first glass i was busting for the loo.like you say probably just because i couldnt go.
how things have improved at hospitals lately., it was an ultra scan like you have when your pregnant, and now the gel is actually warm quiet a nice feeling really!they are checking because i had some cysts on kidneys evidently, and guess what i hadnt had any brekky so i had a bacon and egg butty from the bakery there., then i went to town with sis, but i didnt stay i was so weary so i came home and went to bed for a few hours. i cant get comfy at night because of pain, so consequently tired in the day. but im going to feel better soon hopefully. im pleased you dont have hot flushes, one good thing is i dont need heating on.
take care all x
Lorraine just wanted to wish you well for your scan tomorrow, and try not to laugh until you’ve had a pee!
Lily boiler problem still not resolved
Hi everyone, glad everyone is ok - guess where I’ve got a mossie bite, right in the middle of what was my cleavage! It’s really itchy and annoying I keep putting After bite on it.
all for now, watching Peter The next Chapter (yes I know, complete tosh but I love it)
love to all and the grandkiddies
P xx
Hi,
Lorraine well done, another one ticked off as done and hooray for no injections. Did you feel a lot better after a sleep? I find sitting around at hospitals really tiring and always feel like falling asleep on Victor’s shoulder. Trains make me fall asleep too, from years of commuting. Little chap wanted to find acorns or conkers but alas none. The squirrels had cleaned up and not one in sight! Took him to see UP the new Disney movie and he wa sscared and said he didn’t like it. Glad we didn’t see fantastic Mr Fox as planned as I think he would have been really scared. Up is a strange film and he was not impressed that there were nasty dogs - in his little world there are only lovely dogs that he wants to take home.
Peacock hmmm Peter Andre we will have to fight over him! I like him even more for getting rid of the battleaxe.Good luck with the boiler and the bites. Hi Julia nice to hear from you. Well done for the weight - I am still waiting for mine to go ha ha! I hope the fingers start to ease soon, sound horrible. I keep hearing about Ais doing that and now dreading changing over as stiff feet are bad enough but they don’t ache. My feet are the worst though and have to walk on tiptoe sometimes as can’t lean on my heels.
Off shopping tomorrow for a Mother of the bride outfit. I seem to know what I don’t want but can’t settle on what I do want. Everything was so pale and plain last time I went and I looked very washed out or they were not fussy enough for a big day. Mum of the groom has taken the colour I was thinking of boo and bridesmaids are blue so can’t have that as we will clash. Then even harder problem that it has to fit and look good, so not getting anywhere! Still looking forward to a fab day out with ED who has taken the day off especially and we usually have giant jacket potatoes for lunch as like similar things.
Take care and boo hoo half term just about gone!
Lily x
Morning Ladies,
Just jumping in to ask if you all wouldn’t mind signing this petition? Apparently we’re going to have to fight to access certain treatments for cancer. Lapatnib is a new and very expensive one that NICE says we can’t have on the NHS yet it can save lives!!! Looks like we’re gonna have to shout loud girls!!!

A big Thankyou to all

Hi Lovelies
A day off - hooray! A very busy week so not much time to post on here but I have been catching up on all the postings. Lovely to hear from everyone including Julia.
Lorraine - hope everything is fine regarding your scan and let’s hope the aches go away soon. All this talk of bent fingers is very worrying! Lily shouldn’t be too concerned that it’s the AI’s as I certainly don’t have it and have been on them for about a year now, in fact they are far more tolerable than Tamoxifen in my view but we do react differently. I’m also enjoying all the lovely leaf colours this year, as you say it gets all the more precious when all this cr@p happens - well, I know you didn’t say cr@p but I guess I did!
Lisa - go get 'im girl!!! I’d say don’t worry about the BIG explanation until the time presents itself, hopefully when that happens you will know that you need to say something rather than having to bring it up too soon. I’m not sure if I’ve explained myself but I hope you know what I mean! Have a great Halloween - I’m sure it will be another one of your fab nights out, lucky you.
Lily - have a great day shopping and good luck with finding something for the big day next year, as well as having a lovely day spent with your daughter.
Peacock - the joys of France Telecom continue! The service works but then YD got a big bill which was saying to pay in 5 days or they would surcharge or cut off! How to frighten a youngster eh? Anyway OH sorted it by talking yet again to their English speaking dept who agreed the bill was totally wrong! Other than that we hope it’s all sorted and she is now home for a week or so and can forget all, or most, of her responsibilities! Arrived on Eurostar last evening and has a full programme of socialising to do with all her UK friends as she now has 2 groups - Paris and home! It’s lovely to see her and I’ll be spending some time off work in the afternoons next week so we can sort out any winter clothes etc she’ll need when she goes back.
Other than that no real news and I hope everyone can enjoy their weekend and avoid any more germs - our (open plan) office has been hit really badly this last week - hopefully not a sign of things to come this winter!
Take care all
Nicky xx
hi everyone
lily 2000
i cant believe you havnt got this outfit yet, is it the same one as last year or as there been a divorce and remarriage? only joking!
i know how you feel, it has to be just right, and hide all the lumps a nd bumps and that would take me ages to find costume for that. what about the plum/purple colour that is in? and i think velvet is in too, so that generally looks good.
you asked if i felt better after my sleep, i really want to say yes, but nothing is picking me up at the moment, im so fatigued, i went to bed early last night as well. not to worry one day at a time, maybe tommorow will be better. i feel i want to sleep all the time, i dont want to give in to it, incase it is deppression which i have had in the past. i shall go with it for a few days and then shake myself.
nicky
great that daughter is coming home, hope youve just got paid, if your going shopping? you sound so chirppy at the moment, im so glad but cant help comparing the differences in our two cases we both have
secondaries but you seem to have so much energy, and im really pleased for you. long may it continue. x
speak to you all later have a great weekend, sorry to say we may have some rain. so indoor activities this week. and i didnt mean that either! xxx
Hi,
well forgive me for not saying hello tomorrow but I intend to be having a really good time at the masked ball. There are 10 ladies on our table and I think all either had/have BC or are close friends. Most I go out with regularly and we are all looking forward to a big meal and lots of dancing. It says carriages at 2 am and is a black tie do. I am wearing my Jasper Conran dress as it has only had one outing and covers everything :)I like full length as then i can wear soft heeled comfy shoes for my heel problem. I have 2 masks, one is a white cat with a gold nose and eye lashes and whiskers. The other is called ‘the can can’ and has black feathers sticking up on one side and again gold round the eyes. Little chap thought they were hilarious. Might post a pic of me in disguise on here. While I am boring you with fashion details hooray hooray I have my wedding outfit !!! The first shop I tried on 4 outfits of which only 2 would do up eek and I didn’t like them. Went on to another shop and tried 8 outfits on. the assistant talked me into trying these lacey numbers on and one looked really nice. It was a bit casual though as more of a floaty cardy than a jacket as such. Looked at the label of it eek £868 and it was stretchy not even fitted and man made materials. Assistant was trying to say it was some fab design and all I could think was of Victor’s face and how I would not get away with it without a really good excuse ha ha. Then the arms started getting scratchy so goodbye to that shop. Then went to Jacques Vert and tried on about a dozen items and found 3 outfits I could have bought. So I have a grey and pink floaty dress which fits perfectly and still will if I get bigger or smaller (hmmm) and a baby pink fancy jacket and a fancy pink and grey feather fascinator. Well I am really quite pleased with myself and son said I looked perfect and little chap thinks I am a lovely Nanna. ED is pleased with it and Victor is overjoyed as I had texted the price of the other dress to him and said I am wearing it now!! All these lovely moments have all come at the same time and i think I have a sill smile on my face even now while typing
Lorraine thanks for your ideas for the outfit. The other Mum bought hers first and chose mauve so I felt I had to go to a different shade. It is a May wedding so tried to think it would be warm (hopeful!) I am not at all familiar with depression and sincerely hope that you are not heading to that dark place. I think we need more cakes and lots of them Please take care and try to maybe arrange to see friends regularly over the next few weeks and have some nice chats. I am guessing your Victor will not be very good on that score, being male!I think having a job keeps you in a routine and I remember days falling into others when i did not have the natural high of it being the weekend or waiting for holidays.
Nicky I am glad to hear your fingers will do what you want them too - good job with your line of business. You made me feel a bit more hopeful about Femara.I think the trees are amazing this year too so this tree fettish is obviously catching!!Anyone else loving trees - not literally ha ha .Were you responsible for the office being hit by a bug? bet they are blaming you after being ill recently! Have a fab time with YD.Lisa any news? Worry about the nitty gritty bits when you get to that point. Might make the recon an easier decision too and someone to look after you - fab!
Fiona thank you for alerting us to that and I will get on to it x
Love
Lily x
Lorraine - it must be a big struggle at the moment when you are feeling achey and also low. I also know what depression is like having had it twice after my lovely daughters were born - grrrrr! It is something that we can recognise if we have had it so I wouldn’t hold back if you think that you need to see your GP. A friend has also been very stressed recently and went to her GP, the anti depressants have really helped her at this particular time, it’s not as if you have to be on them forever. I also hope I don’t annoy you by talking about what I’m doing, we are all so different but for now I am able to make the most of things. I think both you and I know that’s not going to last forever I hope you can get out and about this weekend and lift your spirits, it’s a bit miserable here today so anything like this weather where you are is not going to help you! Thinking of you and hope you feel a bit brighter.
Lily - hooooooray, you can go to the wedding lol The outfit sounds fab and a great relief to Victor if it didn’t cost the earth! You’ve also managed to get most of the accessories at the same time so that sounds good, only shoes and bag to go? Mind you there’s no point looking for those atm is there? It’s all blacks and dark colours. Enjoy the ball tonight - another lovely thing that you’re doing. We have no plans this weekend, YD is out at a party (what a surprise) but ED will be in with us. She’s trying to convince us (OH andI) to watch a scary film but I’m not so keen as she does like them really scary!
btw Peacock - how are you getting to view british tv? This is the next quest for YD so any tips would help!
Take care everyone,
Nicky x
hi there everyone
lily
have a fab time at the ball. outfit for wedding seems great.and they were the colours you wanted before i think? fancy letting victor off lightly, i would have chose 2 outfits, that totalled the first one, one for the day and one for the evening.
nicky 08
thanks for your response, like you said at least once youve been through deppression you know the warning signs. i am already on the anti-deppressants, i will give it a little longer and see how things go, i think its not getting a good night sleep thats affecting me. but i feel sleepy all the time so not sure if its deppression or just normal. anyway all this talk about deppression is boring, so.
dont for one minute think i dont wont to hear what antics youve been up to, it brightens my day, and none of us want others to suffer just because we are.
have a fun weekend everyone, dont forget to post any funny moments i need a laugh! x
Hi to everyone
I hope you are all ok, and far too busy enjoying the weekend to be reading this! I’m pleased to say that the boiler problem is now sorted and I’ve just had a lovely hot bath with candles and a glass of wine – oh the romance, but OH not here so it was nice anyway. Now we have another problem, NO TV, so NO X FACTOR! YD is devastated, I like Casualty so won’t be watching that either. This will answer your question Nicky about English TV but here is my problem: I wasn’t getting a great signal so went outside to wriggle the LNB/Sat dish and guess what I did, snapped the arm off that holds the LNB! We do have another one but it’s too dark now to do anything about it, but hopefully tomorrow I can get it sorted.
Nicky you can get satellite but you need a dish, and either a freeview box or a satellite box. We don’t have a current card in our satellite box, but still pick up all the channels like ITV/ITV+2 etc. All the BBC channels, Channel 4, at the moment even channel 5, and some of the other channels that you don’t pay for. I’m guessing that if your daughter is in an apartment, setting up a sky dish may present a problem? For our area in the Dordogne we need a dish that is 80 cm. I have PM’d you a link to a satellite website that may be useful. It doesn’t surprise me that you’ve already had problems with France Telecom/Orange. Did you know that because they receive so many complaints all the time from dissatisfied customers they have the largest workforce in France that either attempt to, or manage to commit suicide because they are so down about hearing all the complaints! Our YD was told that in her class at college. It’s good that she’s settled in so quickly and made French friends too, it will only gain her experience in life won’t it? Our YD goes on facebook all the time and writes French to the French friends and English to the English friends, how I wish I could do that.
Lily glad you enjoyed your day shopping for the big day with ED, it sounds like it’s going to be a wonderful wedding, will we be able to see some photos somewhere? I know it’s too late because you will have already gone, but, I hope you have a great time at the masked ball, it sounds like a prom! Can’t wait to read all about it.
Lorraine it’s not surprising that you feel so tired, you have/had so much to deal with. I have been on anti depressants since April, and I think they have helped so now I am cutting down the dose to try and come off them, I hope it’s not too early so we’ll see. I too have had spells of depression in the past, so know from experience that the longer you leave it without help the harder it is to feel better. When we have sleep deprivation it doesn’t help. I spend most nights coughing so do feel pretty tired during the day. I don’t know if you are a cat person? If so, there is a wonderful funny email going around at the moment called “how bad can your day really get”. Of course there are some wonderful cat pictures with funny inscriptions.
Anyway, happy Halloween everyone, tomorrow is “All Saints Day” which is a bank holiday. I hope the weather isn’t too bad as I want to plant some tulips and clean the chickens out – yuk!
Take care all
P xx
Well hope everyone okay, lily glad you got outfit and have a fab time at ball. Been to friends halloween party for kids, Simon was there and i didnt speak, decided no more, he can chase me if he wants, life to short…
Hope everyone having a nice weekend, scrubbed my face off and chilled with x factor and wine, got major lurgy back and tumya ching with coughing so much and bunged up, but hey hoy.
Will have a proper catch up tomorrow
xx
Hi Lisa
I don’t blame you, let the man do the running for a change - men are so undecisive aren’t they. Glad you chilled out, will be joining you tonight with a glass of wine and X Factor results, satellite is back on so will be sure not to miss it tonight. Lovely picture BTW.
Take care
P xx
Thanks peacock, its me and niece and nephew, everyone was complaining about their wigs, didnt bother me for some reason, huuumm.
Wine and x factor for me tonight too with lots of coughing. enjoy last of the weekend xx
hi everyone
well i actually woke up this morning and felt slightly better. maybe becuase i took painkillers last night and got some sleep for a change. (well quality sleep, cos im always asleep off and on,but last night woke up fewer times)
started wrapping christmas pressies, but keep having a break dont think im in the mood really. and of course the one i want to wrap with some others is missing. ive brought my grandaughter whos 5, a childs cookery book, and lots of pretty pink cookery items, some silicon pink cases to cook fairy cakes in, and icing set, pink cake cases, pink apron, and even a battery operated mixer that works. trouble is her mum dont normally do cooking, but maybe shell be inspired! shes got loads of other stuff as well, so have the other two grandchildren, ive brought my teenage son a remote control rat, that should get the girls running, in the wrong direction. ha ha
peacock
thanks for sharing your experience of deppression with me. i have had 2 bouts in the past but have been stable for a few years, maybe only because ive been on a low dose of antideppressants. but i decided before bc, i wasnt going to rush off them, i have only ever took them short term before. this as been the longest, but my mood is normally stable, and i think its not a good time for me to reduce or come off, maybe at a later date. i dont worry about it anymore.
i always find its the physical symptoms that highlight it to me, the fatigue and breathing difficulties, etc. but todays a bit better day thank god. any time you want to share im here. hope you get tv working, thats 2 things now youd better watch theres not a 3rd, dread to think what that would be.
lisaf
the costume looks orange on the site, you look like youve been tango’d. i think your wise with the bloke, its good for your self esteem when they do the chasing. when the time is right, mr right will appear. so just make sure your ready,
take care all x
Hi,
love the photo Lisa. I think you should seriously consider having that colour hair! I remember you saying you have had lots of colours in the past. Sorry the bloke is not on the ball but you don’t want to get pounced on too quick either so maybe it will come to something. You seem to specialise in 'slow on the uptake ’ guys and I am wishing you a sweep you off your feet charmer (with his own teeth naturally ha ha). That was a laugh for Lorraine!
I am suffering with aheadache after getting too late and getting woken up too early by little chap who was staying. So I am on here early and then will take a knock out bomb and snore through to hopefully a pain free Monday. The ball was part good and part slow. It was funny when we arrived as people were really staring to try and recognise others they were meeting. I drove my friend and she forgot her mask so I had the cat and she had the feathers - except masks are a bit tricky if you wear glasses. She made me laugh as she said I can either see or wear the mask. The room was all glass walls and glass tables and weird trying to see them with a mask on too. Trevor Brooking was guest of honour. free drinks then a nice meal, which we had already selected. The they had an auction, which went on a bit and we could not hear very well so that was the slow bit. Then the raffle and I won a meal for 2 and wine at an Italian restaurant. It is quite a long way off so will save it until I am off in December I think. The we all had a good old dance and I got home about 1.45 am. Boo hoo back to school tomorrow.
Hey were you glad that lloyd stayed on x factor? I am voting for Joe but like Olly too as he comes from near us. Lisa sorry to hear you are yuk and better get off to the doc if coughing a lot as may be connected to the whooping cough and don’t want a nasty infection on top. Peacock I am envious of the bath, sounded lovely :)Sorry to hear you and Lorraine are on anti depressants but hope they help you to get through a little easier. I have a theory that if you can stop a cough from starting you can get out of the cycle where you can’t stop it. Have you tried one of those steam inhalers as a hot shower always knocks my cough out quickly - but probably never had one as persistent as yours!Lorraine don’t get me in trouble tempting me to buy 2 outfits. I would have had to hide one ha ha! Yes I did want grey and pink so it was funny that I ended up with that as I was really going with anything that fitted and looked ok. I remember how long it took to find your yellow outfit for your party. I bet you see yellow everywhere now you don’t need it! New photo is lovely for us leaf lovers!!Are you sure you don’t get sads and that it is maybe the season change getting to you? It is hard to understand if you don’t get it but my friend does and has a special light bulb to use.
Nicky yes shoes and a bag to go. I was wondering about using the wedding service where they dye shoes to match an outfit. I want a really cute bag with lots of beads and detail so will have to look out for summer colours. Did you watch the scary film? I hate them and can’t watch anything like that or have nightmares for weeks. So bad even hubby tells me not to watch them now.
Well have a good week everyone and here we go November already. Victor and i did ‘pinch and a punch for the first of the month’ followed by ‘punch and a kick for being so quick’ Just gently of course. Silly things we do!
Hugs all round
lily x
humm red hair again, maybe not that bright!!!
All them pink xmas goodies sounds good fun!!
Lily glad you had fun at the ball.
Had a restful day as seem to ache a lot these days but not stopping me, off swimming again tomorrow at 9pm. Blind date on Wednesday arrrggghhh!!! SEt up by some joint mates but bit the bullet and arranged ourselves behind their back, means the end to Simon but live to short, would never ever have done anything like this but BC shown me I can deal with a lot worse than blind date or a knock back, whats meant to be is meant to be (Lily always been slow on uptake, lol).
Well X Factor, so glad Lloyd stopped in bless him, Racheal had good voice but i didnt comment with her, but my favourite has to be Olly, hes fab !!
Nite all xxx
hi there girlies
lily 2000
thanks for making me laugh you usually do. talking handbags i was searching for a purple one for ages, got it from Jane Norman shop in the end and bargain at £25 pound. i know what a coat that colour, but cannot find one in my size, they did have one in tesco, but they only have small ones., boo hoo. i dont think i have sad lily, but then again i dont really like the darkness of the winter, but just have to look for the good things, the leaves on the trees, snuggling up by the fire, stew and dumplings, yum yum, always comes around to food with me.
ive been enjoying xfactor too, did you like cheryls dress, it was over a thousand quid, but i cant say im envious. maybe you could give her some tips lily?
lisaf
really hope blind date goes well, just relax and enjoy, and im sure youll dazzle him, perhaps wear the red wig? perhaps not.
